Seven members of the Iranian women's soccer team are free tonight after they escaped and defected in Australia. The team refused to sing the Iranian national anthem during their first game. Retribution was swift and there was no such defiance in the second game. The world watched in amazement as they escaped their captors.

Two more team members defected since the picture was taken. Heaven help the poor souls who return to Iran because they feared their families would be killed.

Sharia law exists here. Earlier in the week while walking through my subdivision a Muslim woman (in full burqa) walked out of her garage toward her mailbox. As I passed by I said "good morning." She turned in panic and went back inside without responding.
Last year I was in a Kroger and a Muslim woman (wearing a hijab) and her toddler were walking in front of me. Her toddler dropped a toy and she didn't notice. I got her attention and pointed out the toy. She did not verbally respond nor say thank you nor even smile, picked up the toy and walked away.
I have been in the Middle East many times (Turkey, Dubai, Abu Dhabi) and chatted with local Muslim women without issues.
Sad.
These woman are very brave. So many prayers for the ones who escaped and the ones who returned home.
@0827 That's because of the language barrier and environment. I speak Arabic with a dialect and the same happens to me. Some people regardless of life's starting point just don't speak back. Being the melanated Republican that I is.. You'll be ok

At this point, I have no problem with Trump's actions in Iran.
I just hope his utter and complete lack of credibility, and the incompetent people he surrounds himself with, don't undermine the effort. The IRCG is a straight-up terrorist organization.
