Update: Suspect identified as Ricardo Kirk.
Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey issued the following statement.
Approximately 5:40pm, the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department received a request for assistance from the United States Marshal’s Service in reference to an arrest warrant they were attempting to serve at 1594 Shell Oil Rd, Brandon, MS 39042.
Although the name of the suspect is being withheld at this time, the subject of the arrest warrant was a Wanted Person on a felony charge of Aggravated Assault with a Gun through Omaha Police Department in Omaha, Nebraska
The request for assistance occurred after the suspect began firing shots at US Marshals from inside the residence.
As additional law enforcement officers began arriving on scene it became clear the suspect had barricaded himself inside the residence alone. Based upon the suspect’s actions, an additional request was made to have the sheriff’s department dispatch it’s armored vehicles to the scene.
After the armored vehicles arrived, negotiations commenced which were followed by more shots being fired at law enforcement officers from inside the residence.
At 8:45pm, officers on scene heard an additional single shot fired from inside the residence and could not get any response from the suspect inside.
After the decision was made to breach the residence, the suspect was found suffering a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of emergency medical personnel he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
For purposes of transparency, Sheriff Bailey requested that the MS Bureau of Investigation respond to the scene to investigate this incident.

At least all officers went home to their families.
Between this and finding out Tupac shot his own left nut off pulling his gun out of his underwear in 1994...
He needed help and he never got it. His family should had gotten him help
improvised shaped charges will make short work of bailey’s armored toys. There is a reason those APCs are all milsurp. The military was forced to adopt ablative armor like the Abrams tanks use because shaped charges fired from recoilless rifles punch right through the armor and turn the inside of the APC into a hot crucible of agony. And shaped charges are stupid easy to DIY.
That last paragraph is a hoot considering the 50+ times the bureau should have been called in over the last decade.
Rankin isn’t lost. It was never found
Sheriff Bryan Bailey: leading Rankin County’s “law and order” brand where deputies torture suspects, get federal charges, and the boss still keeps his job.
If you’re wondering how that happens look at who the county votes for. Turns out “drain the swamp” never applied when the swamp wore a badge or waved a Trump flag.
Signed Womp Womp
And making/possessing one is a stupid easy way to do 20 years in a federal penitentiary.
@6:58 when they outlaw shaped charges, then only criminals will have shaped charges.
unless you work in the oil and gas industry where they are commonly used on well perforation.
He's 32 years old. Blame it on his family?
"His family should had gotten him help"
Some people people refuse to accept help, no matter how many time (and how vigorously) it's offered.
Was the residence on Shell Oil Rd. by any chance the same one in this post from last month?
