The Madison Police Department issued the following statement.
On August 01, 2025 at 0127am, an officer with the Madison Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Interstate 55 southbound near the 108mm in the City of Madison. The vehicle, a 2023 Chevrolet Malibu failed to yield for the officer and a pursuit ensued. The vehicle continued onto the Natchez Trace and exited onto Hwy 27 in Hinds County continuing onto Port Gibson Road. Additional agencies responded and the vehicle came to rest off of Hwy 18 near Chapel Hill Road where the driver fled into a wooded area. K9 and Drone operators from Madison PD, Rankin SO, and Byram PD responded and identified the driver as Jadarius MartezDemonta White of Lorman, MS. Investigators located Jadarius White at his girlfriend’s residence in Lorman, MS where he was taken into custody without incident. The vehicle was processed and several large spools of copper wire utilized in construction were discovered inside the vehicle along with a firearm. Investigators determined that the wire was stolen from MMR Group located at 1900 West Peace Street in Canton, MS. The Madison County Sheriff’s Department was notified and they are following up with the company for possible prosecution.The Madison Police Department is charging Jadarius White with Felony Fleeing, Possession of Burglary Tools, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and traffic offenses. He will have his Initial Appearance in The City of Madison Municipal Court and the case will be forwarded to the Madison/Rankin District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.

They ought to arrest the crooks who buy that stolen copper. This is easy enough to understand, if they can’t sell it, they won’t steal it.
