Attorney Lawrence Blackmon has some explaining to do after he failed to appear in Madison County Circuit Court yesterday. Circuit Judge Dewey Arthur noted in continuing a trial yesterday:
However, Judge Arthur was not through with the young attorney. The learned jurist issued another order:
The case at hand is State v. Kelvin Feazell. A Madison County grand jury indicted Feazell for felon in possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute while in possession of a firearm as a subsequent drug offender, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute (cocaine) and habitual offender. Feazell was previously convicted of selling cocaine and meth.
Kingfish note: Just curious. Is Mr. Blackmon going to play a song that says "F*** the Judge" on his Facebook page?

Is there anymore background information on how he could be found in contempt 63 times?
How much time and money has the county washed on the jerks? I don’t mind spending the money if they are in jail. They are making fools out of the court system, especially the various judges.
As soon as the "clown" left town, another moved right into his place.
Stupid unforced errors. His parents should be kicking his ass.
12:29 Actually, he probably learned that type of in-your-face response from them. When your parents reach "that level," you probably feel beyond reproach
Hopefully some qualified judge will fine this guy at least enough to recover court costs, prisoners expenses (additional food, housing, transportation). Of course, no component judge needs to hear this from a non attorney layman).
Sounds like he already F'ed around and is about to find out that Judge Arthur doesn't play games. Good luck bud!
Its a shame MS doesn't have rules in place to remove attorneys like this.
He probably associates with lots of ignorant people. It's so easy to become arrogant when you do. Law schools don't teach that in criminal law class. They should.
Well you'll have to show me where Ed or Babs pulled a stunt in that judicial vicinity. Chokwe Sr pulled that sort of shit but don't recall ever seeing it from Ma and Pa Blackmon.
Once again the MS Bar beclowns themselves as a tacit endorser of this sort of behavior through their continued tolerance of egregious acts committed by people admitted to the bar.
It’s just marketing. One call
What is a component judge?
@4:44. I agree with this. For some certain clients, this type of bravado is good marketing. Street cred is important.
If Kingfish or any of those commenting would do research, you would find 1) Lawrence is not Bab's son and 2) Lawrence did not grow up in their household; thus, when Kingfish posted Lawrence's Facebook page posts, Lawrence's last name was Goodwin. Even if he were their son or he grew up in their household where they may have had some influence, when you are talking about a man, who can tell him what to do? People do better. Aren't we all responsible for our own sins?
Well, dummy, I never said he was her son nor did I mention Mrs Blackmon in these posts. I know she is not his mother, hence why I never mentioned her.
Too bad he ain't in the legislature so he can use that excuse to delay hearings and trials like Ed and Barbara used to do.
To allude that he's not fully in the Blackmon fold is laughable.
But he is in the Legislature.
7:14am it’s sad how we take things so serious, most people that use or will use the Blackmon’s Law Firm Services in the future will not go on gossip/commentators! Ed and Barbara are damn good litigator’s and kick ass Attorneys. Most people take anything negative and run with it. I know how to read any article from any source and take what information from it and process to what is credible, right, wrong and believable.
Lawrence is a grown ass man and needs to be held accountable for his uncouth and irresponsible actions not the Honorable Ed Blackmon or others!
I've said before Ed Blackmon is probably my favorite attorney to watch in court. I learn something every time I watch him and yeah, I would hire him if my ass was in a serious criminal charge.
