Brandon Police Chief Joseph French issued the following bulletin.
On Thursday, August 28, 2025, at approximately 6:05 p.m., the Brandon Police Department received a 911 call regarding a person being shot at 107 Gayden Street. When officers arrived, they discovered Christian Storey, 33 years of age, deceased inside the residence. Through the course of the investigation, detectives identified Matthew Brian Kidd, a 35-year-old male from Brandon, MS, as the suspect in this homicide.
Kidd is currently wanted by the Brandon Police Department. He is considered ARMED and DANGEROUS. Members of the public should not approach him under any circumstances. Suspect Information: * Name: Matthew Brian Kidd * Age: 35 * Residence: Brandon, Mississippi Anyone with information on Kidd’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Brandon Police Department at 601-825-7225 or Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS (8477). Chief Joseph French stated: "This is a tragic and violent act. Our department is working with urgency to locate Matthew Kidd and bring him into custody. We are asking for the public’s assistance to ensure he is apprehended quickly and safely." This remains an active investigation. Updates will be released as additional information becomes available.

look at this guy and the guy in Minnesota that shot the little kids and you can clearly see that something is bad wrong with them. Why do we wait until they kill someone?. We should just be honest with ourselves.there is a dude that looks like he will kill someone let's put him in the crazy/jail house and make him prove to us that he is ok?

Kidd has been arrested and is also believed to be responsible for the targeted killing of William Earl Morris.
We used to know that Rankin County was " Mississippi's Gold Coast". It's where the moonshine, illegal liquor, gambling and prostitution were easily found in the old days. While many families became respectable, I expect some never gave up on the crime business. Now there are some loiterers in the medical parkways parking areas and surrounding area. I try to park right at the doctor's doorstep these days. And,I avoid around the areas north , south and west of the airport. Indeed, I had to rescue some out of town visitors who booked the wrong hotel while traveling through.
At least in Jackson I know not to go south of I-20 or west of N. State . Most everyplace west of I-55 is safe until north of County Line Rd. Nobody has any business being anywhere after midnight.
Not familiar with the term 'medical parkway' as relates to Niknar.
