President Donald Trump over recent days has miscast himself as a mathematician, scientist, statistician, and monetary expert.
As a mathematician, after urging the nation’s top drug manufacturers to use “most favored nation” pricing, he informed us he would be lowering drug prices “by 1,200, 1,300 and even 1,400 percent.” Well, basic math shows that 100 percent is the most any price can be reduced. As a scientist he informed us that the newly installed white stone now covering up the grassy lawn of the White House Rose Garden will be cooler in the summer. “Because it’s very white it’s going to reflect the heat and it’s not going to be very hot.” Well, it will still be hotter than grass as shown by the science of evapotranspiration. Grass not only reflects heat but also produces a cooling effect by releasing moisture into the air. As a statistician, he fired Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Commission Erika McEntarfer after she issued a monthly report showing weak employment numbers. “In my opinion, today’s Jobs Numbers were RIGGED in order to make the Republicans, and ME, look bad,” he said. “Smart people know it. People with common sense know it.” Well, citing the BLS Handbook of Methods which describes the complex data gathering process from multiple sources with many checks and balances, experts say there is no way for anyone to rig the numbers. Plus, the commissioner doesn’t even see the numbers until they are ready for publication.
As a monetary expert, after the Federal Reserve failed to lower interest rates, he wrote on Truth Social, “Jerome ‘Too Late’ Powell, a stubborn MORON, must substantially lower interest rates NOW. IF HE CONTINUES TO REFUSE, THE BOARD SHOULD ASSUME CONTROL, AND DO WHAT EVERYONE KNOWS HAS TO BE DONE!” Well, the decision to hold interest rates steady came via a 9 to 2 vote by that board – chairman Powell alone does not control rates. At the time, the Fed, which has a dual purpose to restrict inflation while maintaining full employment, said both inflation and the economic outlooks remained “elevated.” But just days later came this fantastical irony: With the BLS jobs report showing surging employment weakness, the Fed may decide the risk to full employment is of greater concern than potential inflation. In other words, the “fake” jobs report will likely get Trump his lower rates. However, he will not get plaudits for his specious performances as mathematician, scientist, statistician, and monetary expert. “There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens…a time to be silent and a time to speak” – Ecclesiastes 3:1,7. Re: Jerome Powell, his legacy is sealed. Ole Jerome made his bed when he lied and described high inflation during the economic recovery as "transitory.” Giving away trillions, much of it to people that didn’t need or deserve it, had to result in inflation. Currency devaluation almost always benefits the rich…and almost always hurts the poor; which is why Jamie Dimon pushed for a 2nd PPP just like the 1st.

there were no new full-scale Russia invasions of another country during Trump’s first term; and
