Most restaurants that serve any kind of food wouldn't exist without Latino immigrants working in the kitchen washing dishes, doing prep work, etc. Nobody is going to argue that illegal immigrants who have committed crimes should be deported, but the ones who are here working hard to provide for themselves and their families need to be left alone.

I hope in the near future, these type of stories, including the arrest of business owners who hire these people, soon outnumber those involving people murdering one another.

The US government requires all employers to verify the status of all employees, regardless of any ethnicity. Obviously this was done because the govt could not do it, thus it is my responsibility to do the govt's work for free. That being said, I do that and do not hire undocumented workers. Very simple. Ms Steele simply wants to choose the laws that she wants enforced. I would like to do that too, but obviously a functioning society could not exist. Ms. Steele should run for office and work for the changes she wants.

For example, a popular roofing company has been doing a lot of work in my neighborhood lately. White guys show up at your door and get the job. The next day 20 Hispanics are in the roof doing the work. A well know chicken plant gets raided every 4-5 years. Hispanics get deported and the white people who continually “hire” them don’t even get a slap on the wrist. I can’t imagine the laws that get broken for hiring, aiding, “paying” illegals. The 'citizens' this woman is yammering about have stolen social security numbers. Typically they buy them from individuals who have access to various records. As a tax professional I've seen the bother, anxiety, and COST people incur when someone steals their SS# and the IRS begins dunning them for tax on thousands of dollars they did not earn in states they've never even visited. And SS doesn't help them in the least. It typically takes 3-5 yrs to get their records straightened out, all the while them worrying about when the IRS will seize something to satisfy the 'debt' caused by some illegal working and falsely using their info. Perhaps this sympathizer would like to publish her SS# to facilitate this crime further since she thinks deporting criminals is kidnapping. Then she could pay taxes and answer dozens of requests from IRS for what they earned & sent to MX.

I know of one popular local Mexican restaurant who has all legal workers, verified I-9 forms, and has yet to be raided. They are very concerned that they will lose business because customers will be afraid that their food isn't authentic Mexican cuisine. They are thinking about faking a raid in order to convince customers otherwise.
