Today is the day so get out and vote early and often. This is the Election Day thread. Fire away.

Trollfest '09
Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.
Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).
Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.
Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".
In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.
In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.
Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.
Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!
This is definitely a Beaver production.

Trollfest '07
Jackson Jambalaya is the home of Trollfest '07. Catch this great event which promises to leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Sonjay Poontang and his band headline the night with a special steel cage, no time limit "loser must leave town" bout between Alan Lange and "Big Cat"Donna Ladd following afterwards. Kamikaze will perform his new song F*** Bush, he's still a _____. Did I mention there was no referee? Dr. Heddy Matthias and Lori Gregory will face off in the undercard dueling with dangling participles and other um, devices. Robbie Bell will perform Her two latest songs: My Best Friends are in the Media and Mama's, Don't Let Your Babies Grow up to be George Bell. Sid Salter of The Clarion-Ledger will host "Pin the Tail on the Trial Lawyer", sponsored by State Farm.
There will be a hugging booth where in exchange for your young son, Frank Melton will give you a loooong hug. Trollfest will have a dunking booth where Muhammed the terrorist will curse you to Allah as you try to hit a target that will drop him into a vat of pig grease. However, in the true spirit of Separate But Equal, Don Imus and someone from NE Jackson will also sit in the dunking booth for an equal amount of time. Tom Head will give a reading for two hours on why he can't figure out who the hell he is. Cliff Cargill will give lessons with his .80 caliber desert eagle, using Frank Melton photos as targets. Tackleberry will be on hand for an autograph session. KIM Waaaaaade will be passing out free titles and deeds to crackhouses formerly owned by The Wood Street Players.

Hope Jennifer Branning gets slaughtered. I’m so sick of republicans in Mississippi running on a platform of “vote for me because the other guy is a liberal” especially when almost the entire state is literally run by republicans. Get some real ideas. Get a life.
Trump is going to lose it, when he loses.
Just what we need, another senile 80 year old leading the country.
I won't be voting "early" or "often" considering I can only vote once & it will be after work this evening.
The lines are LONG in Flowood.
Unfortunately, Trump is better than the alternative. Can you imagine Kamala Harris or Tim Walz trying to negotiate foreign affairs? You think tampons in boys bathrooms is dumb, wait until these two have some real authority.
Mixed feelings about Trump. He has more pros than cons. Harris is a nitwit. Trump has Elon Musk and Joe Rogan's endorsement. And Mark Zuckerberg and Jeff Bezos are passively supporting Trump by not endorsing Kamala. So she must be really bad. I am not in the US and I can't get to the US Embassy in time to vote. So I can only observe as an outsider.
I voted for Trump, Wicker (while holding nose), Branning (because Kitchens needs to take it to the house), and whoever was running against Bennie. I am much more hopeful about a couple of those than the other two.
Votes for James, Carter and Robinson, won't be votes siphoned away from Branning.
Kitchens' kitchen ad makes him look old and stupid. Major unforced error.
Hey 12:49, I HAD a life until the liberal democrats took it away to give it to the lazy Left who didn't work for it like I did. Get a job.
@12:49
You obviously don’t know Jim Kitchens on a personal level. He is one of the most liberal people I’ve ever met. Great guy. Fun to talk to and fish with. Last man this state needs in that office. I’ve never understood how he got there, but given his connections at the time he got in I suspect palms were greased.
November 5, 2024 at 12:49 PM
This post brought to you by John Horhn and opposition to the CCID.
First time voting in a presidential election. Could’ve in a few already.
Voting for Trump, because:
Harris/Waltz are cool with males playing female sports and using their locker room.
The millions of people who crossed the border that we know nothing about. How many are terrorist, on the run from the authorities in their home country, are members of their native country’s version of the CIA, etc.?
Not knowing if the Dems are fully over the idea of packing the Supreme Court and defunding the police. Hugo Chavez and Nicolas Maduro took control of Venezuela by packing their Supreme Court. I have no idea why Dems are never called out on that. They call Trump a threat to democracy, but want to defund the police and pack the Supreme Court.
Harris’ involvement with the bail fund in Minnesota during the riots.
Dems calling Trump Hitler or a NAZI.
Harris’ parents being from another country, and her thinking that her family’s new country is messed up and a lot has to be changed. Furthermore, she has spent her life in California, DC, and Canada. She doesn’t sound like someone who has a good understanding of the US. Has she ever even taken a US History class before?
Her comment in the debate with Trump where she seems cool with the Ukraine war dragging on. So, she is scared of Putin, but cool with the war continuing?
When did Harris know Biden was declining? Did she hide his mental state until after his debate to avoid her having a bunch of primary challengers?
Horhn's in for a rude awakening come 2027 if he's still in the Senate.
We’ve seen this movie before. We’ll go to bed with Trump having a comfortable lead. There’ll be missing reports from some big cities up north and Atlanta, but modeling will show that Trump will carry those states. However, when you wake up, it’ll be a heavier turn out than expected for Kamala.
The state supreme court took away our right to change laws by referendum, even though the constitution clearly states we have that right. Off with all of the incumbent heads.
@1:29 here. I just want to clarify the reason I mentioned Zuck and Bezos. Those two men, and their datamining, operations probably know more dirt about everyone in this country than the FBI does. And I know Bezos is no longer running Amazon, but you better believe he is still in the know.
I see that 1:57 has been paying attention to the TV ads, and 2:13 has been spending too much time on in the Internet.
I'll be glad when this election season is over.
Looking forward to a lot of original thought on this thread
Today was my 6th time to vote Trump 2016 primary and election, 2020 same and 2024 same. Went to his rally at the Mississippi Coliseum during the 2016 campaign.
Funny to see how many delusional people there are on this blog, but this is Mississippi so it's understandable.
1:57, big congrats, but no one asked you. Also, it’s a negative to have parents who are immigrants? You’re fitting all the negative stereotypes quite easily.
I can't wait for it all to be over!!
It doesn’t matter who wins the Presidency, the loser will cry “foul”, demand a recount, claim the election was fraudulent, etc….let the riots begin…
" Today is the day so get out and vote early and often." Did so and boy, am I tired. Think I'll get a few beers and kick back to rest.
I can only hope you're right, 2:07.
Trump is just too dumb and too lazy to be a legitimate option. I pray there are enough decent Americans left to save this country from it.
12:49 Agreed. These judicial elections are SUPPOSED to be nonpartisan, yet she states that she's the only candidate endorsed by the Republican party. The way she slid that in there is questionable.
I replied to 2:07 but meant to be replying to 2:13. Kamala will win, and Trump will have to be treated for excessive spleen.
The political/ad consultant who advised her to glom-onto the Football Culture, and who told her that her male relatives had to have their hair sticking-up-in-front for the ad shoot, did her no favors. There were those willing to overlook those packaging errors. At least she's not a Cosmetology Victim like so many of Mississippi's dolled-up pro politicians. But when, in an ad, she pronounced 'Our' as "ARE", I think that she lost a certain class of voters.
I have been a Republican for my entire adult life, and I have never voted for Trump. He is one of the most awful human beings in this country. Besides his being crude and sexist and arrogant and a liar, he is downright dangerous. He will be giving all of our national security information to his buddy Putin. It has been proven that Russia is putting false narratives out about election irregularities and stolen ballots. Trump is already going to town with this so he can once again falsely claim that he was robbed of victory, calling states and asking them to "find" votes for him. His proud boys will be scaling our capitol again, and worse! God help us.
I didn't vote FOR Trump, I voted AGAINST cultural revolution, political deception, weaponized bureaucracy, normalized deviancy and reckless warmongering
@2:13 100% correct. I have no idea why every ballot counter in a swing state is allowed to bring in a rolling cooler and a rolling suitcase without having them checked. But they always do.
Massive turnout at my place (in Flowood). Got there, line out the building, around the side, across the parking lot. They said it had been that way since 7 am (I was there at 10 am). Never seen that before.
Yep! And just in time for the US to adopt the WHO's new Pandemic Agreement, coinciding with the elimination of Internet Anonymity and a general signing-away of our nation's sovereignty, which will make possible the confiscation of firearms... at which point, expect things previously unthinkable in the Western Democracies, to become commonplace.
@1:42 That Kitchens kitchen ad is 8 yrs old. Just recycled for this go round. I'm old so I can say this, imagine THAT guy 8 yrs older!! NOW tell me why any 81yr old runs for an 8 yr term?
My thoughts EXACTLY!
I voted Trump.
We won't wait for you to provide any of it.
1:57 here
I’m obviously cool with people moving here legally.
I can’t imagine moving to another country and then my son being super liberal in the new country. It’s weird to move somewhere and then your family to basically say their new home is messed up. Why move there then?
I don’t know what tv ads you’re talking about. Haven’t seen many.
Trump! Discernment between good and evil has never been clearer.
Today is a day we stand against tyranny.
Today is a day when men must forge their plowshares into swords.
Today is the day we march in unison and demand JUSTICE FOR PEANUT!
Pelosi, Watters, Warren, Sanders, etc are usually all over the news during a presidential election. Why haven't they been during this one? There is something about Harris the established democrats don't like. That camp has been eerily quiet this election.
Generic Hollywood star statement: "If Trump wins I am moving to Canada."
Banning is going to kill it. Even Jim kitchens wife doesn’t want him around. Banning seems like a good choice and she is the first name in the ballot.
MS needs early voting so people don’t have to stand in line in the rain to vote
If you don't vote because of the rain you are weak and of poor character.
I've said my prayer for the country, voted, and won't look/watch/check in on any elections until Wednesday. Coverage is always incredibly wonky with folks jumping to all kinds of conclusions. It can drive you nuts. Popped a top, will watch anything that doesn't have any political coverage. One nation, under God....
Don't know Jim Kitchens but that ad was not good. He looks old and a fool. Dude needs to pack it in.
Maybe the election will get WLBT to give up on this roommate dispute they’ve been ridiculously covering for 2 days. Just please don’t replace it with the St Jude dream home infomercial they run as part of the news for 7 months.
Kitchens wasn’t appointed. He got there by winning an election.
Is Banning a real person? She comes off like an AI generated mannequin in her commercials
Is that you, Liz Cheney?
What I don't understand is how the party of “from the river to the sea” is calling someone else a Nazi.
I am sure Kitchens thought his ad would be like Digbert''s old lady on the bench campaign, but he just seemed like a bumbling idiot that needs to retire.
He should refuse to pay whoever came up with that embarrassment.
This election is close only because Trump is the republican nominee. If anyone else was the nominee it would be a bloodbath.
The spiraling national debt will likely become the biggest issue for the next president. It’s not sustainable and has resulted in the Fed losing its grip on interest rates. A traditional republican would be best positioned to address it. Instead we will have a MMT democrat or a batshit crazy failed businessman cult leader.
4:46: I'm pretty sure her name is Branning, not Banning. Since you typed the same mistake twice, I have to assume you don't actually know her last name.
Also, the first name on the ballot in your zip code is Kamala Harris, not Jennifer Branning.
But whatever, your vote counts too.
Can’t wait for Trump to lose and get locked away in prison until he rots away. I hope I never have to hear the idiotic garbage that comes out of his mic blow job mouth ever again. And hopefully it shuts up all his cult followers too.
I followed the advice I saw on Louisiana bumper stickers several years ago: “Vote for the Crook!”
If you don't vote because of the rain you are weak and of poor character.
+1,000,000
@5:00pm….u must be new to the Sipp. U can vote absentee way BEFORE an election. Fact check me.
3.30. Remember when Trump was president? Remind me what his buddy Putin did? Nothing. Nor did anyone attack Israel. (You remember them, God’s chosen people). Nor did the little rocket man in North Korea or China do anything. The world was stable. Biden/Harris took office and now the world is unstable. These are facts. Tell me I’m wrong.
3:22 - I thought exactly the same thing! Point to your MAGA/ Republican connection makes your opponents look like liberals. I didn’t like it and refused to vote for the school marm/librarian.
Now that Trump has won, it’s going to be interesting to see how long it takes the lies of the campaign to unravel, I really want to see the wars by Russa and Israel settled . Also when does the deportation of the millions of illegals start.
Brett Favre pulls off another victory.
8:34 to clarify, not just anyone can vote absentee. You must be over 65, in the military, state that you will be out of town on election day, and several other "excuses."
8:40, ok, you asked for it, YOU'RE WRONG!
No, but thank you for the compliment, 5:25. Just another Republican placing country before party!
