Secret Service Director Kim Cheatle resigned her position. The Wall Street Journal reported:
Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle has resigned amid bipartisan outrage over her agency’s failure to stop a 20-year-old gunman from opening fire on former President Donald Trump during a campaign rally, according to people familiar with her decision. Cheatle’s departure came after a blistering congressional hearing in which she refused to answer most questions about the July 13 assassination attempt in western Pennsylvania, which Cheatle acknowledged marked the Secret Service’s most stunning failure since President Ronald Reagan was shot in 1981. Cheatle vowed to get to the bottom of what she acknowledged was a colossal security lapse, but lawmakers across the aisle said her assurances didn’t inspire confidence and urged her to step down. Rest of article.
How bad was Cheatle? She managed to unite Kwasi Mfume and Nancy Mace, no small trick. She will be remembered in the same breath was Michael Brown of FEMA fame. Don't let the door hit ya on the way out.

Scapegoat
Breaking news: In a stunning development, the director of the Secret Service Kimberly Cheetos has resigned her position. In between the fits of despair, Miss Cheetos can be heard saying she was going back to PepsiCo, where she was appreciated. She says you can put her on record as, say, if I lose a bag of Cheetos there, no one will complain.
If everyone in Congress that was incompetent were to resign, we would be left with only a handful (and none from Mississippi).
10:26 regardless of however many more can be found to be at fault she definitely should have resigned. She was NOT a scapegoat.
I thought I was in the middle of a fever dream when AOC and MTG were in agreeance...not that I think Congress is going to be effective at implementing any change for the better.
I don't think a blue ribbon committee and 6 months of fact-finding mission will solve the imminent crisis that Trump is in. He needs private security that is highly trained and not subject to DEI.
In the Army, they jokingly say "we are not an equal opportunity employer," meaning if you don't have the physical stamina, lack of injury history, mental acuity, etc., you can't enlist.
The bar is set lower these days but it is still not a guarantee to enlist. I don't have the same confidence that the secret service, under the branch of DHS, has the same mindset. Protecting the president is more a military function than a civilian bureaucratic function. We would have much more accountability if it were treated as such.
The whole Biden presidency is being op[ened up. Suddenly the alphabet offices who had been telling us they didn't have any recordings of Joe have suddenly found them and are releasing them. Look for a few other people who will be looking for a hole to crawl into. This is just the first.
@10:46am - I doubt it, she didn’t do too good of a job protecting the big orange cheeto
Her pal "Dr" Jill will find her another Peter Principle position.
She should have stayed. Biden would have never fired her. He has never fired anyone.
She was DEI bulletproof

BINGO!
watch her get a nice cushy high paying job at Blackrock, Soros Group, etc.
The screw-ups were mostly at the local, field office level
I definitely don't feel sorry for her. She's worth $10 Million, and she's probably got a heck of a retirement that we're paying.
We definately need a "blue ribbon commission" that will publish a 5,000 page report which will get filed away with no one reading it, just like the legislation that goes through the Congress.
When FDR was shot at: "We need to make changes so that this never happens again."
When Truman was shot at: "We need to make changes so that this never happens again."
When JFK was murdered: "We need to make changes so that this never happens again."
When RFK was murdered: "We need to make changes so that this never happens again."
When Ford was shot at: "We need to make changes so that this never happens again."
When Reagan was shot: "We need to make changes so that this never happens again."
When Trump was shot: "We need to make changes so that this never happens again."
She should have resigned without being pressured to do so, she was ultimately responsible. However, our society has become accustomed to no one being responsible for their own decisions. Beginning in grade school all the way to adulthood standards are lowered so no one is left behind; everyone is equal. As a result being held accountable for your mistakes, lack of work ethics, etc. creates adults who are average at best. Those working in government have this culture ingrained in the system. I heard one person say, “ Ain’t nobody been fired for doing nothing “. Sadly that’s where we are today and while most private sector employers still try to hold employees to a higher standard, the Democratic DEI crowd is slowly trying to mandate lower standards for the private sector. Everyone deserves and equal chance but not an equal outcome.
the resignation of a high level executive branch director for admitted incompetence is not something that happens every 15-20 days. such happens about every 15 -20 years.
its good to see it happen to this pathetic woman.
watch a few senate hearings where republican senators cross examine some other biden appointees such as the secretary of the interior and the director of the ATF.
they are both totally incompetent. that secretary of the interior would not know a national forest from the national anthem, and that ATF director wouldn't know a sub-machine gun from a submarine.
Three prayers & miracles this week. 1. God spared Trump. 2. Biden withdrew from 2024 Election. 3. Kimberly Cheatle resigned. Keep praying America!
She absolutely was the scapegoat. Trump has a huge rat in his inner circle. If he doesn’t sniff em out and get rid of em quick, they are gonna try again and succeed.
Glad she's gone.
Praise God the incompetent Cheadle resigned. Harris has limited experience campaigning, and has duties (though not sure what they are) in her present job. Her staff has had 91% resignations in her term as VP. AND her party is not at their most organized. Millions of people are going to want to see her up close and personal so events are going to be a bit more quickly organized. I can imagine after seeing the sad result of a big rally by an absolute pro at rallies that her family is scared. And America is going to be scared a bit of political events after losing a first responder's life plus 2 other whose condition we don't know & Trump simply lucky & blessed not to be in a coffin. She is going to need a professional, on-top-of-it SS team, not what seems to be wandering out there at public expense now. As do all candidates, but this has been as they say a 'real un-usual' process.
Hopefully SS will be more careful in future however Cheadle's behavior in hearings, the disastrous rally, the whole dismal picture... SCARY for all candidates & scary for those who want to see their candidates in person. And one has to wonder how much that was the intent given the political bent of some of them.
That Trump koolaid must go down really smooth cause people drinking the hell out of it without a thought. Sheep.
They need to identify what Agent was over the protection detail and fire Him/Her/It.
There are several others who failed to do their job that day. The director was simply the one who assigned someone else responsibility. They failed miserably and should be fired too.
Might be as many as two or three agents who need to go also.
You scapegoat conspiracy theorists need to stop. So many in these government jobs at all levels are comfortable and complacent, and when a threat arose, they did not perform. The little boy shooter was no different than these other high school outcasts that shoot up schools.
2:46 You seem to know it all and you seem to be a take-charge type - you should be in charge.
all this crap talk about scapegoats ...........People who talk that BS are the same people who want to blame everything on someone, or something OTHER THAN the person responsible .

These comments are cogent & pithy.
The boots on the ground dropped the ball. Let's me explain.
A lone wolf (kitten) cases out the rally grounds hours before the speech.
He borrows his overweight Dad's AR-15 rifle & old Pop was clueless what his son intentions where (or not).
He hides the rifle before near the building where he intended to shoot from.
He does a snake crawl on the roof of the building which is captured on cellphone. He fires off 8 shots. After all that someone decides to protect Trump.
Here you go, the best 90m you will ever spend.
The revolt is coming. Good luck to the trough eaters, provocateur, and lap dogs.
Your going to need it.

@1122
We don't need the Secret Service anything like the US Army. Our military is on a 79 year losing streak.
Which vacation resort was she when Trump got shot? I hope her vacation wasn’t interrupted?
Good riddance
Good. She lost me when she said she was focused on getting more women to join. Who Cares? Are they a badass that can protect our leaders? Awesome. Gender? Again. Who Cares?
in the wake of a shooting like this the gun control wackos always come out to play..............
but in this case i have yet to hear from them......................
reason is real simple , the gun control wackos want to ban firearms , except when it comes to trying to kill trump. then guns ar ''ok''.
I watched Director Cheatle’s testimony before the House Oversight Committee. She admittedly did a bad job. But it was equally clear the Committee members were more interested in grandstanding than figuring out what went wrong and how to fix it. They too should resign.
For anyone of y’all frustrated by Cheatle’s stonewalling before congressmen (acting in high dudgeon for the cameras and the folks back home), just remember most of y’all didn’t have any problem waterboarding Arabs down in Guantanamo to get answers.
Maybe water boarding would be the means to get the truth from her. From her first comments after the attempted assassination through her testimony she demonstrated a high level of incompetence or untruthfulness. There was no way she could remain. Now the question is, who else needs to go? No doubt there was congressional grandstanding, but there needed to be. Otherwise Cheatle would have stayed on and done further damage. No one has confidence in her leadership. She was fully exposed.
As to getting answers, she certainly showed no interest in providing any real answers.
2:46, As far as sheep, have you watched people rushing to tell us how great Kamala is when she clearly is not? If you think word salads are profound words of wisdom, or you think deceiving people about Biden’s mental decline is just fine, or that men can have babies, or naked men belong in women’s locker rooms, and the border was just fine with record breaking illegal crossings for the las 3.5 years, then maybe you are a sheep. If you want to see sheep, just watch the View, CNN, MSNBC, or read the NYT telling us clips of word salads are “celebratory artifacts.”
