Just another day at the Canton Mart Road overpass.
This is not the first or second time this has happened. Part of the area underneath the overpass was shut down last year because the bums, oops, I meant residentially challenged, set a fire that got out of control. Yours truly was driving home one night in December and saw the firebugs again. Thankfully, JPD and JFD quickly responded when I called 911.
Of course, since fire is involved, this gives JJ an excuse to play this tune.

They're just experiencing homelessness, like it's a carnival ride.
A fire under an overpass in Philly shut down the interstate for a while. What's MDOT have to say about thee fires?

Nothing. They don't have any money to do anything about it.

A fews years back, I think some serious damage was done to an overpass in ATL due to this same issue.
2:30 - The Lefleur East Business Improvement District has had landscaping crews working the area since January of this year. They wear vests of the same color, but theirs have a "LE" on the back. Can't tell if that is one of their guys or not, but that would be my first guess.
3:26 PM Thanks.
I can see a sum total of nothing in that first video.
Last year I was driving through Dallas to Fort Worth (talk about dreadsville) and I swear I’ve never seen so many homeless people congregated under an interstate overpass. Traffic slowed down to a crawl, so it got a little tense. Dallas, Texas
Hopefully those flames don't lead to this;

It’s not the worst place I have slept, but I would advise you to bring a pillow.
“Nearly $900,000” MDOT spent to repair this bridge they already burned last year?

Sarah Rafferty in Suits.
Yes, please.
Color me stupid, but I never knew concrete would burn.
ATL, LA, PHilly, etc. It's a known problem, but just like sewer maintenance, it doesn't play in Jackson like the race card. Basic governance is not a POC thing, I guess. And, yes, it's growing. Denver, NOLA, Vegas, etc have massive encampments. But it's usually only a big problem when they let trucks, cars, black market car repair shops, or storage of bulk flammables to build up.
In fact, LA "leased" property to "disadvantaged peoples" to open shops there. Californicated themselves again. How utterly predictable. As it is here.
