To Strike or not to Strike

What to do about the Mexican Drug Cartels is a rather bedeviling question.  American demand creates a tremendous opportunity for supply, ergo the rise of the Cartels and the fall of the Mexican state.  As Cartel brutality becomes more widespread, some of our Warhawks advocate using the military against the Cartels.  The idea is not without its attraction as the Cartels are undoubtedly no match for Special Forces and surgical weapons, right? However, there may be another side to this equation. Former infantryman Chris Cappy knows a little bit more about combat than the average Warhawk.  He discusses the pros and cons of taking military action against the Cartels in the video posted below.   Fix a drink or consume an edible and enjoy.

There is one little angle Cappy nor few others have considered.  The Mexicans sent in their own special forces and marines against the Cartels.  Once the military was in play, the Cartels considered it to be fair game not for violence, but for good ole fashioned corruption.  They obtained identities of the troops, paid some off, threatened the families of others, etc.  Would the U.S. Army receive a massive injection of corruption if it moved against the Cartels? Just a thought.

Nuke 'em back to the stone age, and while the nukes are getting warmed up, send one to N. Korea, one to Moscow, and one to Iran. Other destinations TBD.

Hell no, we better not go. Have we learned nothing?

Wait, I thought that End It For Good’s idea was going to solve everything!

🤣

Won't wash. The military fights for money interests, not against it. Reagan and the Contra deal should have taught everybody that drug money is still money and ultimately it's money that is the lifes blood of the military.

Replace one cartel with another, that's all.

Drones, snipers.

I get it about the economic concerns over tourism and trade, but it still boils down to what’s most important-money or American lives. We ignored Al Queda for years and treated it as a mild annoyance - until 9-11.

Maybe I'll watch it later; probably not. This Chris Cappy, is he one of those who knows a lot about combat in Korea or Vietnam or Afghanistan or Iraq?

Until now I've never been one of those "It's as simple as that" types, but here, my friends, is the bottom line: When there's no demand, then there will be no supply, simple as that. Work the demand side and remove -- permanently if necessary -- the user. Probably won't happen because attacking the demand side is attacking, you know, the voters. But using the military always comes with an exorbitant price tag.

A man who says he's running for president next year is all in for military action against the drug cartels in Mexico. Is name is Trump.

The US military and intelligence agencies are a Zionist mercenary force. The cartels also serve Zionist interests. The US military is more likely to transport drugs than fight the cartels. Reminder that the Taliban chased the US armed forces from occupying the poppy fields of Afghanistan.

Where do you find these midwit commentators that you promote?
Do you have a club or convention that you attend?

The “nuke everybody guy” apparently thinks we can do so without being nuked ourselves. Besides, has he considered the moral side of this? Does he believe in at least the possibility that there is a God and a moral order that should be adhered to? If so, where does murdering civilians fit into that? I suppose after WW2 when the US government slaughtered millions of non-combatants, then Vietnam and after that the never ending “war on terror”, it has become accepted by many people that it’s perfectly acceptable for the US to kill whoever we want to with impunity.

Maybe we should think about desisting from meddling in the affairs of the rest of the world and mind our own business and quit starting perpetual foreign wars. The US is on the decline. The military is consumed with wokeness and modern American kids are mostly too soft to even start basic training. Our currency is collapsing. One day China or someone will decide it’s time to teach us a lesson and that will be the end of US hubris and military foreign interventionism.

I’m hindsight, are we happy we invaded Iraq? Afghanistan? Vietnam?

Anonymous said...

The Russians and the Chinese are cyber attacking us daily. So yeah, let’s attack Mexico.

Anonymous said...

Kingfish. You need to watch the Shawn Ryan Show, episodes 7 & 46.

Like others have said, until dumbass Americans stop using the drugs the cartels will always exist.

Nuke @6:46 AM.

Wait! What? said...

I gave up after six minutes. Very few people talk that fast. Talks so fast his words cannot be processed easily by the human mind.

Be realistic. Try to understand. It's not the cartel. It's not the cartel. It's whether WE control the cartel. It's whether WE control the cartel.

The question is: Who is WE?

Fix a drink or consume an edible? So I'm not allowed to smoke a cigar while enjoying the video?

@9:50 AM

You will have to look beyond the jingoistic education you received in public schools.
Read about the punitive actions the US supported against Germany after WWI.
Educate yourself about the treacherous actions of France and the UK (with our support) that lead to the rise of the Third Reich.

9:50 that ended 78 years ago. How many wars in our lifetime were great ideas?

You are either with us, or with the terrorists.
Two weeks to flatten the curve.

Will this be a Netflix series, or a big buck Hollywood production? It doesn't sound very believable to me.

Maybe some other country will want to bomb MS for exporting ignorance.

The U.S. government has declared war on poverty, we have more poor people than ever. It declared war on drugs, we have a bigger drug problem than ever. It declared war on terrorism, and according to the Biden administration we have more terrorist than ever. Is it just me, or is this war thing not working out?

@12:41

That’s because the agency’s and czars employed to tackle the crisis will be out of a job if they ever accomplish their mission.

Anonymous said...

June 4, 2023 at 12:37 PM, according to you, some idgit on a message board, we, the state of Mississippi, have come to the point of exporting ignorance.

But we, the state of Mississippi, haven't perfected it like some democratic controlled areas, i.e., New York, San Francisco, Chicago, pick a spot, of the country, have. The left have taken ignorance to a whole new level.

It’ll be hard against a non standing army, it’ll be like the VC, Taliban, etc. Hit and run and blend back in to the population. They’d be better closing the border or controlling it better and placing troops along the SW, Northern, and the Caribbean borders, but where there is a demand for drugs, someone will get it or make it here at home. You already have the US Navy, US Coast Guard, and US Customs in the Pacific, Atlantic, Caribbean, and Gulf patrolling. You also have the French, British, Dutch, Australian, Canadian, Navies and Coast Guards on counter narcotics missions along with Central and South American Navies and Coast Guards, yet still it makes it’s way here and other countries.

Anonymous said...

Gotta have heart to take and/or make hits. I don't see it. Lol. Prove me wrong

Mike Morgan said...

Bingo. If we go on the offensive, do we really think the cartel won’t just walk across the border and set up shop in cities with defunded police departments? You think Chicago and Portland are bad now?

Anonymous said...

10:39 - Hold on while I look up Jingoistic.

Cool. You're related to the author, correct?

Anonymous said...

3:33 - I guess you did an admirable job of covering all the armed forces patrolling and protecting this country against the water-borne Santas delivering our drugs, but why did you not address the current regimes lack of interest in our Southern border? That's all mythological, right?

Anonymous said...

@5:33 PM said…10:39 - Hold on while I look up Jingoistic.

Absolutely flawless job proving 10:39’s point! 🤣 🤣

Anonymous said...

@5:42 No, it’s no mythological, but the clowns on the left/right, media, and the everyday idiots focus on it too much. Meanwhile you have the northern border, smuggling on the Great Lakes, human and sex trafficking in the South Pacific (Hawaii/Guam/Micronesia), illegal Chinese fishing all over. You probably didn’t even know there was a blockade around the keys due to all the illegal flow coming out of the Caribbean or USC AMO officers getting shot and 1 killed off Puerto Rico by smugglers, barely made any news.

I wish the U.S. would declare war against me. I could use a

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
