Pearl Police Catches a Green Blessing

The Pearl Police Department issued the following statement.

At 10:30a, A pearl Police Officer saw a black Dodge Challenger with no plate traveling westbound on I-20 and attempted to make a traffic stop. The driver fled and the officer pursued into Jackson with the assistance of Capitol Police.

The suspect wrecked his vehicle near the intersection of Prentiss and Fortification streets. No injuries, no other vehicles damaged in the pursuit or wreck.

One male, the driver, in custody.

Undra Harper, 41 from Jackson, has multiple warrants out of Hinds County and one from MDOC as he is a convicted felon. His Pearl charges are: felony fleeing, no tag, no insurance, possession of marijuana, illegal tint and giving false information.

Kingfish note: Harper is known to JJ readers.  JPD arrested Harper in 2019 for  one count of attempted armed robbery of an individual, one count of aggravated assault, one count of shooting into a dwelling and one count of probation violation.  A Hinds County grand jury indicted him for those crimes in 2020.  Circuit Judge Adrienne Wooten reduced his bond to $75,000.    Attorney Dennis Sweet IV represents Harper.  The case is still pending.  However, Judge Wooten issued an arrest warrant for Harper after he failed to appear at his November trial.  He was not apprehended before today.

JJ reported in 2020:

JPD arrested yet another star graduate of the Hinds County Catch & Release Program. Undra Harper was charged with attempting to steal a car from the parking lot of the ER at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. His criminal history shows a pattern of indictments, low bonds, and no prosecutions. ....

Harper has been arrested and indicted for more than a few crimes. Here is his criminal history:

*March 14, 2014: Indicted for auto theft. The bond is not known. No trial date has been set for Harper. No continuances have been filed. The file is just..... sitting in the clerk's office.*January 29, 2014: Indicted for five counts of auto burglary. SENIOR Circuit Judge Tomie Green set bond at $15,000.
*May 1, 2013: Indicted for auto theft at the U-Save Auto Rental on I-55 N on October 24, 2012. SENIOR Circuit Judge Tomie Green set bond at $10,000.
*April 30, 2008: Indicted for one county of receiving stolen goods. Judge Yerger set bond at $50,000. He later didn't appear in court and a warrant for his arrest was issued. That was settled BUT the District Attorney asked the court to drop the case on the grounds that Harper was an informant for the FBI. See the last page of the documents posted below. Judge Yerger granted the motion on January 19, 2010.

Judge Tomie Green  remanded several charges to file while sentencing him to serve seven years in prison in July 2015.

Harper pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property and being a felon in possession of a firearm in 2016.  Circuit Judge Bill Gowan rescinded the habitual offender charge.  He sentenced Harper to serve 10 years in prison but suspended 3 years of the sentence.

A federal grand jury indicted Harper in 2020 for a gun charge but a jury acquitted him in October 2022.

Should have stayed in Jackson/Hinds Co. Hopefully, Pearl/Rankin Co will not issue blessings.

Sentenced to 7 years in 2015, 7 years in 2016, and in 2019 arrested and charged with attempted armed robbery of an individual, aggravated assault, one shooting into a dwelling, and probation violation?? And nobody noticed he was supposed to be in jail in 2019?

I'm no match wiz, but that doesn't add up.

Apparently, in Hinds County, the justice system works about like the water system. For a modest gratuity, you could get your water straight-piped, or get put on the "E-list". Something similar seems to work for those experiencing trouble with the law.

Hinds blessings on steroids.

I know him and he is a nice guy. He will not do those evil things again, he promised me.

As an aside, with that background, how damn stupid you gotta be to cruise around in Rankin (or anywhere else) with NO tag?

He must have a good job - That's a nice ride!

No telling how many of these thugs are cruising Madison and Rankin counties every day. This example 1A of why Jackson's police and courts have to be taken over by the State.

Need to put a leaving Hinds County sign on every road going into another jurisdiction. That why these fools will turn around and stay in Hinds County!

This was a real dangerous chase, I saw them on Ellis Avenue and both cars were really humping no way they could stop if someone got in the way. Luckily it turned out for the best. The perp should get the max for endangering the public like that!

Them crooks work hand in hand corrupt judicial system Dennis & Adrienne the same 2 that railroad a police officer.

Interesting that he apparently had a valid driver's license. But, why is POS still roaming the streets?

No blessings in Rankin County! Please follow this one, KF. I’ll be interested to know his fate.

Dodge, the official thugmobile.

It makes so much sense now, why the minority leaders in House/Senate are on the news bloviating that "the city of Jackson needs to have a say in who the judges are" now.

They endorse and support Tommie Green justice style.

To which I say, no problem. But don't ask the state to fund the status quo when the factual results (indisputable to anyone with a brain, that is) show utter failure.

You can make the rules if you fund the plan yourself.

I implore the Mississippi legislature to drastically stiffen the penalties for felony fleeing with very strong minimum sentences and create some mechanism whereas the charge and time to be served cannot be part of a plea deal.

I'm thinking 10-20 years with no parole. This has to stop!

A jerk with multiple warrants drives on the Interstate highway without a tag in a car with blacked out windows. Then he races through town at light speed not caring if he kills somebody in the process. This guy's brazen stupidity makes him a very dangerous character who should be incarcerated as long as possible. Good news it was Rankin County LE.

9:03, I agree wholeheartedly! A friend of mine's family member was hit/killed by a fleeing suspect. At one point, I thought he might try to prevent the taxpayers from having to support the thug for even a day in jail.

They got him for, among other things, illegal tint?!? If JPD enforced that law half the cars in Jackson would be off the road. Add in enforcement of illegal tag covers and Jackson roads would be pretty empty.

@DeltaKid-
You in Harper's camp?

Anonymous said...

This seems personal. Tell us you dont like Judge Green without telling us you don't like Judge Green. She hadn't been involved with this guy since 2015. Why not "Pearl Police cases Informant blessed by Yerger." Or Pearl Police catches guy sentenced by Gowan to 10 years back in 2016." How about "Pearl Police catch guy whose bond reduced by Wooten". Fact is, this guy seems untouchable. If he is really an informant, someone has an interest in keeping him on the streets that outweighs any crimes he commits.

Anonymous said...

12:17 - Who the hell is Harper? Regardless, 'the kid' is 100% right! It would also be 'racist' if these two laws were enforced. Wouldn't it?

DeltaKid said...

11:17, Hell No! It’s that I would like to see JPD do like Pearl and start ticketing vehicles for illegal tint, tag covers that obscure state and county (and sometimes the whole tag), and loud mufflers. Did I mention loud mufflers?

A girl can wish…

Anonymous said...

If everyone knows this guy is an informant, how much info could he be providing? Maybe those he informed on will take care of him without the government having to.

Anonymous said...

@12:47 because Judge Green was notorious for giving low bonds to violent offenders. She essentially started the downfall of the Hinds County Circuit Court before passing the torch. Many of the repeat offenders of today (that are still alive) got their first "blessing" under Judge Green.

Anonymous said...

12:47 chooses a very odd hero to defend?

Your attempt to justify Judge Green's behavior says far more about you, than KF reporting this fact says about him.

Tell me you are pro-crime without telling me you are pro-crime.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
