I read that he was (probably drunk) beating up a woman in a car and somebody intervened, and he (the beater) shot that person, who died.

Sheriff Jones I am a former Deputy that worked from 1991-1998 at all Hinds County Facilities that house inmates. When I saw this fool with a cell phone I stood up from my seat and said what is going on!

Sheriff I am saddened by the lack of security. This fool just killed 2 people and already has access to a cell phone!

What and who are you hiring Sheriff? Can your Corrections Deputies feel and see? I personally surmise that you need help in hiring good quality personnel that can follow simple 3rd grade policies and procedures. They must be able to utilize their senses, also!!!

Im not claiming to be super close to this kid, but I do know his mother and others very well and they are not as happy go lucky as this kid. Pray for him to, while at it because his life is now forever changed and he has some growing up to do with his new reality.

We should be allowed to simply apply the death penalty immediately in cases like this.

They’re some good hardworking employees at all facilities but the sorry ones make the rest look bad.

Regardless who is Sheriff he/she must hire quality people that can follow simple procedures.

How this dumbass has survived this long is an understatement. I typically agree with the death penalty, but in this case, I think homeboy should live in parchman for the rest of his life. That's a tougher punishment both mentally and physically than taking the easy way out and dying. His prison life is going to be exactly what he deserves. Long, slow, & painful.

9:56 PM, it doesn't take a lot of knowledge or experience to be a jailer. All you have to know is which side of the bars the criminals are supposed to be on. It isn't rocket science. Just do not hire criminals for jailers.

What is it with these people who want the prisoners to do the job of our police force? We keep hearing people say just wait until the prisoners get hold of you. Have we stooped so low as to have our convicted criminals do the job our police force has failed to do?

7:53. As with a lot of cases like this, everyone involved needs our prayers. The families of those killed by this POS deserve them. The mother of the POS probably never wanted her son to grow into the kind of person who would beat a woman and then kill two people at a parade. The POS needs our prayers, because he grew up into the kind of loser who was probably headed into this outcome for a long time before he did what he did.

By the way, pray for me too. All of us need prayers said for us. Start with your family, then your neighbors, then your community, then your nation, Then those you don't know, then those who don't like you all that much, then your enemies, then yourself. I think that is the correct chain of prayer.

Girlfriend has now deleted her Facebook but there is a screenshot being shared of a post she made before deleting that presents a different narrative and suggests she might have known the guy who was killed or at the very least someone with him.

You reckon Cummins and King Zeaky (another double murderer) are still bunking together? Seems like the jailers now would put Cummins in a cell with someone not quite so simpatico.

@957, yes his life is "possibly" changed, as you say. But the lives of the two individuals that he shot in cold blood are definately changed. As are their families. And their change is due to this idots actions, drunken or otherwise.

Yes, I can feel sorry for his family, but not for their having to incur a long legal fight. They should admit that their 'family member' should go to jail, if not to the chamber. They should not enter a long legal fight. Once someone commits such a henious crime, and it appears he is not in the least bit remorseful about it, I find it hard to be concerned about "his family's" issues of facing a long legal fight and possible incarceration. I am much more concerned about all the other folks that were in the area and particularly about those that he decided their lives were of no value.

Two amazing lives were lost due to the inability to proceed above racism and allowing immature false entitled youth to bear arms. The sheriff should be terminated along with his staff. Jail shouldn’t be a “cool gangsta” place that even younger youth idolize. It’s time for a change in MS. Jesus didn’t die and allowed his flesh to be tortured to be mocked in this manner. Consequences should extend even to his parents for raising and allowing a psychopath like this to run the streets like an entitled Trump Jr.
