Good Doggie!

Update: District Attorney Jody Owens filed a motion today to revoke Elam's bond for house burglary.  His attorney filed a motion on May 24 to lower his bond and remove the ankle bracelet.  Got to love dumb clients.

The city of Clinton issued the following statement.

Clinton Police have arrested two individuals connected to an attempted armed robbery on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 in Clinton. Tuesday evening around 9 P.M., Clinton Police received a report of an attempted armed robbery  and carjacking on Edgewood Place in Clinton as the victim returned from the grocery store.

The suspect approached the victim on foot while brandishing a gun. He demanded her keys and purse. The alert resident began tossing her groceries at the individual. As the scuffle ensued, the resident’s dog exited the vehicle

to protect the resident. After being bitten by the dog, the suspect fled on foot to the suspects red Dodge Charger.

Clinton Police were contacted immediately by the resident. Patrol units were in the neighborhood  and within seconds identified the suspect vehicle and detained the individuals inside.

“I am grateful for the alert actions of this resident to protect her person and property and the mindfulness to quickly contact Clinton Police. This is a perfect example of residents and police working quickly to protect our city and catch criminals,” stated Mayor Phil Fisher.

Two male suspects were arrested. During the investigation, it has been determined that the driver of the suspect vehicle was wearing an ankle monitor while out on bond awaiting pre-trial sentencing on felony charges in another jurisdiction for armed robbery.

Clinton Police have charged JACOREY DEVONTA DILLARD, 19, of Jackson, MS as the suspect who brandished the weapon.

Dillard was arrested and charged with armed robbery and armed carjacking. He is currently in custody of the Hinds County Detention Center on $250,000 bond.

Clinton Police have charged QUANDARIUS ALONZO ELAM, 18, of Jackson, MS as the driver of the suspect vehicle.

Elam has been charged with armed robbery and armed carjacking. He is currently in custody of the Hinds County Detention Center on $250,000 bond. Elam was under court ordered ankle monitoring while awaiting sentencing on house burglary charges stemming from another jurisdiction in Hinds County.

“What is wrong with the monitoring system? Who is responsible for monitoring the criminals that are under supervision? Someone must be held accountable to prevent further residents of Clinton and the metro area from being victimized by criminals,” stated Mayor Phil Fisher.

Don't believe the monitors are watched 24/7. Picked up at later time/dates. at least what I've heard from MDOC folks.

Dog deserves extra treats.

Gee, I wonder what "other jurisdiction in Hinds county" let this moronic thug out on bail for a previous armed robbery?

What is “pre trial sentencing”? Don’t you have a trial first, then if found guilty, you get sentenced?

Don't mess with Clinton!! And the dog should get tetanus shots.

The Dog should be free steak for life ! ! ! !

This is why electronic monitoring is good for offenders out on bond. No its doesnt show a person is committing a robbery. But it does show they were physically present when the robbery occurred. Thus the DA's prosecution is much easier because the a friend cant say he didnt do the robbery he was with me.

Judges in HC are sending detainees to monitoring companies owned by the judges’ relatives. Each judge has a favored monitor. Meanwhile, no monitoring is actually happening.

Proud to see CPD carrying on the tradition of taking care of business. Folks in Jackson wonder what has caused the “uptick” in killings. Lamumbalot has neutered JPD.

Get the dog protected with penicillin shots.

That's cool and all but was it a Pit Bull ? Clinton has laws against pits. This criminal will sue.

Clinton has laws against pits.

Clinton should pass a new law requiring all residents to own at least one pit. The thug incursion would drop waaaaayyy down.

Doggie style in Clinton.

Love it !

“ Clinton should pass a new law requiring all residents to own at least one pit. The thug incursion would drop waaaaayyy down.”

I do a lot of work in all parts of Jackson. There’s an extremely high number of “pits” and pit mixes, with the highest concentrations of these dogs in areas with the highest crime. If the dogs are making a significant difference, I’d hate to see what it would be like without them. Snakes, on the other hand, just might be the ticket. I was driving through a South Jackson neighborhood a few years back when I saw a pretty decent gray rat snake crossing the road. I swerved around it, put the car in park, and walked back there to get it, leaving my car running with the door open. As soon as I picked it up, I heard some kids say they wanted to see it, so I sat there holding the snake in the middle of the road, and literally within 30 seconds I was surrounded by about 15 people. That number kept growing exponentially all while I was craning my neck to see my car through the crowd. They were asking a lot of questions, and I was happy to answer them, but was getting real nervous about my car. So I just started walking towards my car with the snake out in front of me. I felt like Moses parting the sea. When I got back to my car I kept answering questions until it was time to leave. I had my glock on my hip, but at that moment realized a 4’ snake just might be the safest defense.

@2:31 You are absolutely correct this electronic stuff is great for offenders. Now the DA can prosecute them for this latest robbery. Right after he sets up a bond hearing to tell them when to come back for the first robbery.

The Hinds County judges that let these feral animals out on bond should be thrown in the pokey for Reckless Endangerment.

"I am grateful for the alert actions of this plebian to protect her person and property and the mindfulness to quickly contact Clinton Police."

Obviously using the same media-contact departmental-comment-writer used by City of Jackson. The wording gives it away.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
