To say Pearl and Brandon caught a break is an understatement. Check out this picture of Pearl last night.

Don't they have a vaccine for that yet? Been around for millions of years.
We dodged it, too, when it skipped over Byram and headed to east toward Rankin County. So glad no one was hurt or killed. I'm gonna have to clean out the closet where we go hide so we can fit in there, now that the season is upon us!
tuesday maybe rerun
Watching MDOT cameras live on WLBT was pretty chilling.
It is crazy how catastrophic, sporadic and localized the damage can be while they lift up and descend multiple times.
Its like hitting the worst lottery jackpot ever it seems, but grateful it was not on the ground long and much worse.
9:30 AM No vaccine yet, but thanks to science, we are better able to predict when such events are likely to take place and prepare accordingly. Too bad there isn't a vaccine to cure ignorance and bigotry.

1:09, I read sarcasm/jackassery from 9:30. Where is the so called bigotry, or is that a word you just learned. Maybe you have some bigotry as well. I will say, at least you didn't throw in the ubiquitous statement of racism.
As a reminder: bigotry
[ˈbiɡətrē]
NOUN
intolerance toward those who hold different opinions from oneself.
WLBT killed it with their coverage showing the MDOT camera footage of the tornado. I was watching the golf tournament on CBS and then their local weather when they took over the broadcast. They had nothing of the sort, I happen to switch over to channel 3 just to see whats going on and BOOM! they have the freakin tornado on camera Live!
Pearl resident here. You know its serious when the tornado sirens blast 3 separate times. Also, tomorrow night could be worse for the metro. And Jackson is not immune (never forget the Candlestick tornado) and I doubt the city is even close to prepared for a major natural disaster.
"we've got cows!!!!"
Thankfully there were no serious injuries or deaths.
All of our local meteorologists (on all three Jackson
TV stations) are beyond great !
I love all of those guys & girls on WJTV, WLBT & WAPT.
They depend on the National Weather Service (computer models) for an accurate forecast.
The NWS has been screaming
"tornado horror" ever week for two months, and nothing happens.
This past weekend the NWS said, "meh ... nothing to worry about, perhaps some heavy rain in parts of Mississippi.
Then yesterday, we had a damn tornado explosion.
SMH !

"I doubt the city is even close to prepared for a major natural disaster."
The city IS a natural disaster.
