The city of Jackson issued the following statement.
The
Siwell Road and TV Road wells on the Jackson Maddox Well Water System
continue to remain offline. It has been determined by our contractors
that the pump on the Siwell Road well needs to be replaced along with
some other parts to ensure optimal function moving forward. Our
contractors are working to order the new pump and parts which can take
several days. In the interim, a temporary pump will
be put in place to provide additional water into the distribution
system until the well can be placed back in full service. We plan to
have the temporary pump in place at Siwell Road by Friday, May 21,
assuming no unforeseen delays.
Once
the temporary pump is in place at Siwell Road and in service, our
contractors will then move on to assessing the TV Road well to determine
its cause of failure.
We anticipate placing another temporary pump at this location to again
provide additional water into the distribution system while repairs are
being made at this location.
The
Jackson Maddox Well System serves approximately 16K well water
connections primarily in South Jackson and the City of Byram. It is
estimated that 2,000 connections
are currently impacted by this disruption. As the system continues to
operate on only four wells, customers, particularly those at higher
elevations, can expect to experience low or no water pressure in the
impacted areas.
Water Pick-up:
The
City of Jackson Department of Constituent Services has arranged for
water to be available for pick up at Fire Station #23 located at 2640
Raymond Rd. (across
from Forest Hill High School), beginning Friday, May 21, 2021 at 1:00
pm. One (1) case of bottled water per vehicle.
Precautionary Boil Water Advisory & Conservation Notice:
The
updated precautionary boil water advisory issued on Tuesday, May 18, as
a result of the TV Road and Siwell Road well disruptions is still in
effect.
The conservation notice released on Monday, May 17, for the entire Jackson Maddox Well Water System also remains in place.

Third World City.
Total garbage leadership for decades.
Embarrassing.
But Baby Chock has it totally under control - so much so that he can spend all his time in surrounding cities trying to help fellow riders on his 'radical city train' to get elected: Hattiesburg, Goodman, Pickens, Meridian among others.
But - his powerful voice of radicalism failed in Meridian. Wonder how far it will go in helping our city's newest consultant, Mr Crisler, getting his friendgirl elected?

Several days to order parts......
yeah, no
How many JPD officers travel with King Chowke on his political junkets to other cities? I guess that's ok because it's not like Jackson has a shortage of officers on the street.
Every notice how the "ruling class" have lots of free security/protection, but they want to disarm the public? Gots to keep the unwashed masses on the plantation.
Next-
How interesting to have this failure happen during Nat'l Public Works Week. But then again, this is just like every other week in the "Bold New City with Soul."
And for the reading comprehension impaired at 6:17, it's not meant that it will take "several days to order parts", it's that the parts, once ordered, will take several days to be delivered. This isn't an Amazon Prime One-Day Delivery purchase.
These stories get me all pumped up about never visiting Jackson.
