The state of Mississippi might need to set up a water buffalo outside the Sillers building this morning. Check out what came out of the faucets today.
However, this pic does not represent all Jackson water. The water below is what came out of my faucet just a few minutes ago (in Northeast Jackson). This water is normal for where I live.

This is no doubt caused by the State not paying their
water bill and "white flight" from Jackson !
My office is just off Woodrow Wilson and our water looks like that (brown) 75% of the time.
One City, One Aim, One Destiny, One Dysfunction.
This is discrimination, per se.
Wonder what that could be? Bet it is somewhat like a Coliform Bacteria. But... we have no problem here folks, so just move on, nothing to see here.
Darn "open carry."
Welcome to Jackson - the city with soul & Boo Boo at no extra charge
Something is wrong. Admittedly, it could just be "color" which is a secondary standard and not a big deal. However, if so, then all of the connections would have similar color, and they would have it every day. The fact that they don't is telling. I'm guessing a leak was fixed and flushing was done in an improper manner.
Moved outta Jackson 6 years ago to new annexed land of Pearl.
Water bill & Garbage pickup (no sewer) is only $ 22.00 a month. Pure clear water. Down the road off El Dorado they are clearing land for a 25 house sub-division. Cheapest home in there will run $400,000.00.
I will be visiting in mid-May for a week. You can bet your last dollar that neither I nor my dogs will be drinking any of that water. It will be bottled water only while there.
Just a little turbidity, just a normal part of the process. I prefer brown water anyway, it’s more diverse and keeps my immune system on its toes.
At least the city put its best foot forward for the SWAC football championship game Saturday at Veterans Memorial Stadium - out of town visitors must have been sooo impressed with having to boil water in their hotel rooms just to make coffee
I remember a few years ago in Jackson the water looked like this in hotels and restaurants. Tasted terrible. they said it was safe. I still did not drink it. Checked into the Hilton on County-line. The water looked like this. I went down and checked out (without any charges) and drove to pearl for the night. Jackson SMH
So where does that fall on the Nephelometric Turbidity Units table. Learned that from the video provided on the 25th. Thanks KF, was wondering when I could use this.

No one in their right mind would EVER pay 400k to live in Pearl. You must be misinformed.
" I remember a few years ago in Jackson the water looked like this in hotels and restaurants "
Good lord, you just exposed the secret ingredient of "comeback sauce".
It's not all abut a half bottle of "Thousand Island" salad dressing.
Water has looked like that at Sillers a number of time over the last few years. The state not only pays its water bill but then buy cases of water for employees because of the water woes.
May 2-8 is National Drinking Water Week (American Water Works Association). "Drinking water when you need it." (Except in Jacktown)
Apparently Baby Chowke Lubumbles didn't get the memo.
I see turbids
Does it have a smell? That is foul looking.
Dummies. Yall don't know chicken broth when you see it ? It's a new perk for living in the "radical" city.
Yours may be clear Kingfish, but I wouldn't drink it for nothing!
I'm sure it's safe to drink. Your gubment would not lie to you like they dd in Flint. I bet if you ask the CDC will tell you that the new Vaccine will cure the water disease. "If you just take the vaccine we can get most of our freedom back"
I have an idea that solves two problems. Let's get the creaming Fondren preachers up to the waste water plant to pray away the demons.
I just want to know what State Agency bought it's employees cases of water, the Agency I work for sure didn't. Not mention when we don't have water or the right water pressure we are not sent home... they just bring in porta johns.
We complain so much. Many of the folks in rural Zimbabwe would be overjoyed to be able to turn on a faucet and have water come out 24/7. even water like that.
Zimbabwe similarities to Jackson?
I guess that didn't come out very well.
