It appears Mike Espy, Esq. is poised to return as the attorney for the Madison County Board of Supervisors. Y'all Politics reported Friday:
In Madison County, the Republican controlled Board of Supervisors is set to consider the hiring of a new Board Attorney on Monday, and it could be Mike Espy – the announced Democrat opponent to Republican U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith. Espy has held the position in years past.Stay tuned.
Supervisor Gerald Steen (R-District 3) appears to be the driving force behind a potential Espy hire. Rest of article.

Regardless of the normal pros/cons, my question is whether or not Espy can adequately represent the county while simultaneously running for the US Senate? If the answer is he has a staff to do all his legal work, then you have just made the statement that it doesn't matter who is hired, the staff will do the work.
Nice work if you can get it. Well paid work too.
I will be mad as hell if they hire him. He gave questionable advice when he was BA in the past and he sang sure didn't keep CMU out of trouble.
Yes a lot of good available attorneys sorry Mike Had his chance lets try someone different who will be campaigning
Well, I'm mad as hell. Not the first time Madison County has done something stupid.
I think Madison County had better get used to having a new dump. This, and the fact that the area around it went for Hood, I don't think DEQ will lift a finger to stop it.
Gerald - if you support Espy, especially when he is running against a Republican for Senate, I will do everything in my power to get you defeated in the next election by a real Republican, not a Democrat in wolf's clothing.
Gerald moved over to the far-side the minute he was seated, after first being elected. Remember the 'no tax increase' promise he ran on? Then he quickly sidled up with the other bad-actors.
When Bishop was seated, four years ago last week, people in these parts thought things would turn around. And they did - For about four months. Then Steen convinced Bishop that Steen would lead Bishop to the yellow brick road of wealth, power and glory. Banks was out of the picture for awhile but now the whole shit-show from the past re-emerges. As Marshal Ramsay might say, "This right here is great fodder for cartoonery"...'cept it ain't funny.
Not for Espy, but he is a much better attorney than Feel’s daughter who Feel used his power to get her appointed.
If you ask the elected officials that have to deal with the BOS about Espy most will tell you he is very intelligent and helpful and actually knows the law without having to research every question unlike Feel’s daughter who had O experience and seemed to never know the answers. BTW I’ve been a Republican longer than 99% that post here.Steen will now get roads and projects in his district funded unlike the past 4 years.
Wake up Steen! He took bribes!
4:18...he was pretty adept at getting the roads in his relatives' subdivisions paved over the past six years. Don't count the boy's ability to deal, short.
Looks like there's going to be a new board voted in next election.
Hopefully Harreld's lawsuit will be successful, Banks will be sent back to the club and the new board will turn around and fire Espy. And Steen will be castrated in his zeal for power. Prayer works.
