Former Hinds County Sheriff Tyrone Lewis won a defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife, Tony Davis, and several other defendants in Hinds County Chancery Court yesterday. Hinds County Sheriff Tyrone Lewis sued in June 2015 for an injunction as well as damages against the defendants. Sheriff Lewis claimed they acted together to slander and defame him through social media over several months in 2015 prior to the August primary.  Attorney Dennis Sweet IV posted this message on Facebook yesterday:

The jury awarded $50,000 in  actual damages and $5,000 in punitive damages to Mr. Lewis.   However, Tony Davis issued the following statement last night and made it clear he will continue the fight:

The Special Judge rule against all the defendants and Tyrone Lewis prevail in this hearing. I am filing a motion for reconsideration of this Ruling and we will be appealing this decision if and when the Supreme Court review this case I feel I will be vindicated.

There are many issues that was very questionable and one of the Defendants was never served subpoena and the Plaintiff Attorney stated Tyrone Lewis former wife could not be found although she works in Jackson and is on Facebook. The judge rule without any documentation that the post I made on Face Book cause Tyrone Lewis had a undocumented Poll saying he would have won the election because Aaron Bank alleged the pole showed he was favored by 56 percent poll being done in 2014 and he was employed by Tyrone Lewis when he was elected as Sheriff.

Now as I stated that this case is not over and I guess that anyone by the ruling of this judge you have a imaginary lead from a poll done by you friend with no documentation then whoever comes up with a poll saying that they were leading in the poll would have been elected so people you need to come up with a Poll saying you lead then you are automatically elect.

I stand by what I have posted and we will pursue our case through the Courts.

I hope that the Judge will remember that Dennis Sweet last name was not Owens maybe the Judge got confused who was the Attorney on this Case.

I do resent the fact that this Judge accused me of using racial overtone by stating that I state on my post that stated the White votes and Black votes are a issue in political races.

I would appreciate if everyone would give us the opportunity to clear our name through my appeal until the Supreme Court can make there ruling on this case. Thank you !!!! This is just the beginning of this case from February 2015.

I am not the type of person that will hide issues that are not in my favor but to let the people know that even if you think I would be embarrassed by this ruling that I would not bring this out through Social media outlets because if I am wrong then let someone outside of this Hinds County Judicial System decide my innocent or guilt. I am not going to hide anything from anyone because I stand my own ground and you can make your own decision, I am exercise my Right to Freedom of Speech anyone can go get a copy of the court Transcript of this case and made you own decision who is right or who is wrong!

All Hinds County Chancellors recused themselves from the case.  Special Chancellor James Bell blistered, excoriated, and crucified the defendants in the opinion posted below.
