It appears a case of jailhouse justice took place in Raymond last week. WLBT reported last week:
A murder suspect died in a Jackson hospital after he was assaulted at the Raymond Detention Center on December 6.
Dominique Martinez Griffin was transported to UMMC for treatment. He died Friday afternoon.
Griffin was charged with murder of Rastafian Beasley. Beasley was shot and killed on Fontaine Avenue on December 2. ArticleJailhouse justice? Well, Rastafian "Fats" Beasley was a Vice Lord. Needless to say, Fats' peeps were waiting on Griffin by the time he made it to Raymond.

"Jailhouse justice"? How is this any different than the lynchings you've decried on previous posts? Any "justice" outside the law is only just depending on the eye of the beholder.
I am guessing there wil be no comments about lynchings, but what is the difference if an accused person is hanged or assaulted to death?
Like a lynching, a jailhouse murder before trial will leave a lot of questions about the underlying crime unanswered. No matter how bad the inmate may have been, and no matter how heinous the crime of which he's accused, the process has been perverted. It is not justice, not by a long shot.
Who said it wasn't any different? You seem to mistake the headline for approval. That is what it was, jailhouse justice. He allegedly shot a vice lord and got whacked in return.
Come on folks! Regardless of the label, KF did NOT use the term "lynched" or "lynching". I think everyone's underwear is on just a little too tightly these days where everything has to resort, in one way or another, back to the days of old when these evil acts occurred because of someone's race.
America needs to grow up and stop getting offended and crying racism, discrimination, etc. every time someone says anything. Its gotten real old.
Turn the dang news off. They are programming everyone to be divided.
Keep reporting KF.
Oh well, another leech off the tit. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Sounds like a BTO song from long time ago ,Taking Care Of Business!!
I didn't see you (Kingfish) calling lynchings 'Countryside Justice' or 'Tree-limb Justice' or something cute like that.
The law enforcement people who threw this guy to the wolves should be held criminally responsible. They knew what they were doing.
Hey 10:01 you are the only person who alluded to race. That's your problem. Anytime someone is killed by a mob, or murdered before he can be legally tried for a crime there is an obvious parallel with lynchings. Maybe not in your dream world, but here in Mississippi it's fact. Sorry.
It seems as if some of the respondents think that "jailhouse justice" was served by the jailers and not the Jail population.
Regardless of what the media reports and perception, Mississippi is no more racist than any other state in this country. Whether the racism is against Asians, Hispanics, Native Americans, Blacks, etc. (I'm certain this statement will generate much hatred, but, it's the truth.)
"Jailhouse justice" is a commonly used slang term for what happened here. Stop trying so hard to be offended. Get a life.
Another Victor Mason and Mary Rushings screw up is all. Looks like Victors Harraswnent trials should be coming up soon.
Stand by folks, but checks bout to be cut!!
The word on the street is that he slipped on a bar of soap. Stuff happens.
“Will no one rid me of this troublesome...” fill in the blank, nod nod wink wink at the right subordinate (or helpful thug in this case) and zap! Problem solved without the tiresome machinations of “justice.”
I read just today about 3 to 5 LEO being suspended while Mississippi authorities investigate the death while in custody of a detainee. Whether the boy dies in the back of a Crown Vic or after being tossed into a cell with hungry gang members....it's well known who the guilty are.
Too damned many Bubbas in uniform.
