ARRAIGNMENT AND PRESS CONFERENCE REGARDING
INDICTMENT OF MDOC COMMISSIONER AND LOCAL
BUSINESSMAN
Jackson, Miss –
Acting U.S. Attorney Harold Brittain announced this morning that Christopher B.
Epps, former Commissioner of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, and
local Rankin County businessman Cecil McCrory will appear this afternoon before
U.S. Magistrate Judge F. Keith Ball at 1:00 p.m. in Courtroom 5D of the Federal Courthouse (501 E. Court Street,
Jackson, Mississippi) to be arraigned on a recently unsealed 49-count federal indictment.
Immediately following the arraignment, the United
States Attorney’s Office will conduct a press conference on the front steps of
the Federal Courthouse.
