appx 15 years ago there was an article in the Commerical Appeal about the number of children in memphis born to unmarried women and unsupervised and the prediction that these children would spawn a crime wave like nothing we have seen.

Here it is.

Will Al Sharpton or CNN comment? What about all of the decent black folks that get stereotyped with these idiots? That's who should be mad and that's the only people that can stop it.

If this was a white mob and a black youth attacked, black people would be rioting for weeks (Ferguson). However, since it involved a thug mob of no good trash attacking a young white kid that's trying to do right and work for a living, NOTHING will happen. When are stupid white people going to stand up and say, ENOUGH! Where's Kenneth Stokes (local idiot), Loretta Cooper Stokes (another local idiot), Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton, Oprah, the national media, or anyone who cares? They only care when it's a perceived injustice against someone who is black. Remember this when you go to the polls, when you support businesses, when you hire, when you make decisions. This is what our United States has come to.

Interesting timing. Just a few days ago, a gun control group which is basically Michael Bloomberg pretending to be a mommy launched a multi-million dollar ad campaign targeting Kroger for allowing CCP. "Why would anyone need a gun in Kroger?" They ask.

Why, indeed.

The damn security guard was filming, and handed his phone to someone before doing his job?

Concealed carry would stop that crap.

I just finished reading an article about Atlanta Hawks co-owner, Bruce Levenson. He's "self-reporting" to the NBA about a racist email he sent to others in the organization two years ago. Oddly, in that racist email, he said that the team can't attract white people to games because of the location of the arena and the "perception" by white people that the area is dangerous, not to mention the hip-hop BS that goes on inside the arena on game day and that these type things make white people stay away.

Racist? It may be in some arena's but in the real world, the truth is the truth. The mob mentality will bend to only one of two things, an equal or a greater force.

Unmarried black women with no male in the home originated with slavery. Slavery created the matriarchal society among blacks.

Do you think police involvement and a lack of prosecution in the Klan activity and the murders of civil rights workers going unprosecuted had anything to do with blacks hating whites? Or how about little children being bombed in churches and those who did that not being caught and prosecuted?

We have done a good job , however, in finding and prosecuting black criminals. Wall Street , however, gets a pass as well. What message do you think that sends?

How about whites fleeing schools and neighborhoods whenever a black showed up?

Apparently, some of you, like Mr. Weir, never took note of the excessive force or corruption convictions of police officers and assume it never happens. You never heard of false confessions being extracted either, apparently.

Did you miss the scenes of white young people rioting during the 60's and 70's?

Somehow, you miss why having those in authority abuse their power is more of a threat to society and think that being white will make you immune.

I don't know whether excessive police force is a factor in Ferguson and neither do any of you because not all the facts are in and those " witnesses" on television aren't under oath.

Sadly, we have our white thugs as well. They ,too, are impatient and can't wait for the legal system or have no faith in the legal system. Some of them, however, just use their mouths and pens to stir up trouble.

Always have a back up plan. If people weren't in such denial about reality that parking lot would have been littered with bodies.

This is only one of many, many videos showing random violence by blacks. Whites are getting tired of this. They're tired of supporting "baby mommas", tired of the thug culture and sick of hearing its "the white man's fault", because it isn't.

Its only a matter of time before an incident like this results in 4to 5 blacks being shot by someone taking up for the white boy. It almost happened in West Point.........

I'm just venturing a guess here, but you're a liberal white female who loves black people (at least you strongly desire to have the appearance.) That's fine, your opinions and beliefs are yours and don't effect me one bit.

But if you are indeed a liberal white female with a lot of black friends, you still would have been beaten if you were in the Memphis Kroger parking lot Saturday night. Solely because you are white. They hate you, regardless of how much you love them.

As for this guy defending himself, HOW? He was a minor. Can't have a handgun. He was an employee of Kroger and I'm sure they have a little policy against carrying weapons on the job. If I'm not mistaken, the other two who were beaten were employees as well.

I'm from Memphis and from all local accounts, this mob attacked black and white persons, young and old. One suspect has been arrested, and I'm sure others will be in a few days.

A heinous crime was committed, law enforcement are tracking down and arresting perpetrators.I don't see the need for people to call "race baiting" and "thug(read n-&&er)" behavior. This was a mob of misguided youth who need discpline, justice, and help.

Black Americans didn't get a fair shake the day slavery was done, and in some ways still haven't.

Surely, y'all are not seriously arguing that the plight of indentured servants was the same as that of slaves? Surely, you aren't arguing that a permanent visual difference is as easy to overcome as a language difference?

Violence like this has been happening on an increasing basis for the past few years. A few web sites have collected footage from security cameras showing this.

My ancestors were not in this country in 1865, so I really don't care what someone else's ancestors did to another someone's ancestors. The article on the new arrests being made asks parents to watch the video and turn their child in if they see them.
