A brave band of resistance fighters is taking on the Cult of Kuykendall in Desoto County. Here is an update from one of them:
He has been overwhelmed because he tried to redistrict or rezone the schools without telling the public and especially parents and teachers. We worked hard the past 2 weeks bringing this to light and giving parents and staff the opportunity to voice their opinions. The school claimed that this was done so quickly and without notification because the Fire Marshall had instructed them to due to overcrowding issues. They also claimed that a committee had been working on this for months and months as well as had statistical data supporting this decision. When the heat was on, they finally had to admit that the committee was made up of Milton, Jennifer Weeks - Assistant Superintendent, Jerry White - Head of Buildings and Maintenance, Melissa Green - Head of MSIS (attendance person), John Caldwell - Transportation Director, Keith Williams - Asst Supt of Parent Realtions and possibly 1 Principal. None of these people are qualified to make such decisions as admitted by John Caldwell to some parents. They also had no statistical data to provide to parents requesting to see it. Lastly, there was no Fire Marshall report and the Fire Marshall was upset that they would be quoted as saying this had anything to do with them. Dennis Turner from News Channel 3 filmed and was going to report on the story from both sides....upset parents and the school. The story never aired. The following day Channel 5 News aired a story stating briefly the school rezoning would not happen next year. Milton claimed he was doing it for the parents and at their request which was completely false. School Board President, Ann Jolley, had told parents prior to the school board meeting addressing this that it was a done deal. Keep in mind this happened before the Board ever voted on it. Also noteworthy is that the school Principals already had letters typed up to send home to parents telling them about this rezoning. Ms. Jolley was quoted as saying, "We are not rezoning the schools. We are simply moving some kids from one school to another". After being told that is rezoning, she had no comment. Parents pushed hard to get the item taken off of the Board Agenda and postponed until the May 6 meeting date. The school board members were overwhelmed with phone calls and emails from angry parents as was county office, especially Milton. Day of the school board meeting and just seconds into it, Ms. Jolley had the item removed from the agenda and postponed until May 6 before anyone even knew what had happened. Since then, parents have hammered them so hard, along with posts on our site that they decided to take it off of the May 6 agenda and cancel it for next year all together. This story can be reported or told. Our Page DeSoto County Reform was targeted this week by angry school officials creating false FB Accts and posting information they thought would discredit us. Milton had told the Principals that they better not let the information get out or their jobs were on the line. Board President, Ann Jolley, is Milton's long time friend, and her kids are employed by DCS at the county office. Board member, Theron Long, is a retired Educator and Coach that Milton has known for years. These 2 will never vote against him. Board member, Steve Dodd has been on the Board for 18 years and is known for voting in favor of Milton's recommendations. Although he has no children or family connected to or in the school system, he votes how Milton wants. We are unsure why. I have known Him personally for several years and still not sure why this is. It was a great win for us this week because Milton was not allowed to force another thing down our throats. He was defeated and is very angry. You can google new articles or stations reports from the last week or 2 about the rezoning.
Campaigning is also an ongoing issue. He had a local Mayoral Candidate campaigning at 2 different local schools... Once was Easter and the 2nd time was this past week. He tries to skirt the issue by allowing them to do it to the car rider line. They did start off on school property and followed down the line into the street where they remained until all cars were gone. The Principal of one of the schools, Jamie Loper, wrote a letter endorsing the candidate and that was the material being handed out to people in the car rider line. When Milton was confronted in a personal meeting today about this situation, he claimed ignorance to it. Although sources know this was done at his request. I have copies of the two mass emails that were sent out during this legislative session. An inside source also states that when Milton Kuykendall ran last time, Principals were called into county office for a Principals meeting. They thought the meeting would be with Milton but in walks John Caldwell, Director of Transportation and Former Board of Supervisor Member. He closes the door and demands that they all give him $100 for Milton's campaign. This was not a request but an order. The Principals were very upset by this but did do it. Milton has been known to personally go by an employees house and put his candidate's sign in their yard and take out other candidates' signs. Complete violation of district and county policy but no actions have been taken.
This is just a couple of the things that I am sure some people may already be aware of. Just wanted to briefly update you in case you did not know. You can go to our FB Page, DeSoto County Reform, for more detailed information. Have a great week!

Trollfest '09
Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.
Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).
Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.
Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".
In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.
In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.
Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.
Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!
This is definitely a Beaver production.

Jackson Jambalaya is the home of Trollfest '07. Catch this great event which promises to leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Robbie Bell will perform Her two latest songs: My Best Friends are in the Media and Mama's, Don't Let Your Babies Grow up to be George Bell. Sid Salter of The Clarion-Ledger will host "Pin the Tail on the Trial Lawyer", sponsored by State Farm.
There will be a hugging booth where in exchange for your young son, Frank Melton will give you a loooong hug. Trollfest will have a dunking booth where Muhammed the terrorist will curse you to Allah as you try to hit a target that will drop him into a vat of pig grease. However, in the true spirit of Separate But Equal, Don Imus and someone from NE Jackson will also sit in the dunking booth for an equal amount of time. Tom Head will give a reading for two hours on why he can't figure out who the hell he is. Cliff Cargill will give lessons with his .80 caliber desert eagle, using Frank Melton photos as targets. Tackleberry will be on hand for an autograph session. KIM Waaaaaade will be passing out free titles and deeds to crackhouses formerly owned by The Wood Street Players.

Jesus, which is worse? Rankin or Desoto?
Terribly difficult to decipher and mentally catalog a one paragraph rambling such as this. But, I'm sure the writer and her husband are proud of the piece.
My two robot-words are: Peaturd and ACT.
Who in the heck wrote this bilge?
A sixth-grader? That's just terrible. Can any retard get something posted on JJ, verbatim like that?
Can any retard get something posted on JJ, verbatim like that?
You just did.
I was looking more at the what was written and not how it was written.
The article slams the leaders of education, but is so poorly written that it's almost indecipherable. I find that somewhat ironic. I expected it to be written using the letters clipped from Magazines, like a ransom note or something; its (the article's) tenor doesn't help lend any credibility to the content.
Disclaimer: I don't live in DeSoto County, or even in Mississippi, but I used to live in MS and follow the state's amusing headlines.
Couple of things:
1) The committee that was responsible for the rezoning decisions had the Superintendent, an Assistant Superintendent, Student Data, Transportation Director, Parent Relations, etc. The author opines that these individuals aren't qualified to make decisions about school attendance? If the people who run the district, transport the kids, count the attendance, and keep the parents happy aren't the ones to make the decision, then who is? You may not agree with them, but I can think of no other group MORE qualified.
2) The author then singles out one board member that they allegedly know, hammers on him because he simply doesn't agree with the author; then the author goes on with some conspiracy diatribe about how they don't know why... and he has no reason to, like there's some smoking gun. Maybe the board member just happens to agree with the Superintendent and disagrees with this 'group' of folks.
3) All these claims of 'demanding' money seem fairly far-fetched. If you have the evidence to back it up, go file a complain with your district attorney. Go forth and swear and attest under penalty of perjury that the statements you are giving are true to the best of your knowledge. You won't, because it's rumor and conjecture; likely basis. Quit trying to rub two phrases together and hope they catch fire. It's unlikely to happen.
4) If you have a problem with the way your school district runs, vote. If you convince enough people that their school district is so broken under the leadership (although, by almost every measure, the school district in question is a great place to send your kids, especially compared to neighboring districts), then do something about it besides bitching. When you lose (if you lose), but gracious about it and realize that the people around you simply disagreed with you.
Since disclaimers are popular, I don't live in Desoto, South of Desota, West of Desota, west of Phoenix or in the Gulf on a sailboat and never stayed at the Sun 'n Sand. That said, I smell a Davis in the woodpile. Axes to grind come to mind.
Good Lord. "Almost indecipherable" then you drop another 300+ words on us including the deep sanctimony in #3 & #4. ROFLMAO
People who think they know everything are usually the ones who know nothing at all. Yes, I am referring to the majority of "anonymous" commenters on here. I say educate yourself before speaking about something you know absolutely nothing about. If you do not live in DeSoto or have no first hand knowledge, how do you know anything? Davis - NO. Did Davis know what he was talking about.....YES! Educate yourself! The committee members admitted it was out of their control, did not think it was a good idea and they did not have the knowledge to make these decisions. Who does rezoning affect: teachers, parents, students, transportation, after school care facilities, people who handle the budgets, real estate buyers and sellers. The above commenters must be right though, this was simply a disgruntled "person". It could not possibly be a community of knowledgable, educated people!!!
http://m.desototimes.com/articles/2013/05/02/news/doc5181a959e6198931625501.
After reading the linked article above, ask yourself these questions:
1. How did they go from being so overcrowded this was immediately necessary to not even needing a portable to accomodate students?
2. Why in the article did it also say that Principals knew they could make things work?
3. How was something that was so needing of attention not become a concern until 3 weeks before the end of the school year?
4. If kids were fine this school year, why the hurry for such a big change?
Just asking since everyone here seems to be so smart!
Well then, soothsayer, go back and answer the questions you so sanctimoniously asked us to consider. One does not need to be 'from Desoto' to follow the laughing stock status often created by some of its most prominent residents.
I have. I did. And I couldn't agree with you more!!!!!!
The article link from DeSotoCoReform at 1:11 pm does not work. Is this the article?
http://desototimes.com/articles/2013/05/04/news/doc5181a959e6198931625501.txt
First, if you don't vote in Desoto County you don't get a say.
Second, if you don't pay taxes in Desoto County, you don't get a say
I agree with everything that the article was about.
This county's school board is so corrupt. This is just the tip of the iceberg getting ready to melt.
When the whole truth comes out, then let us see what you have to say.
Mr. or Mrs. Anonymous
It sounds like your angry writings are very personal for someone who lives out of the county.
Just Sayin.....
Fact remains that the person responsible for the original post can nether use the return key nor write.

4:59 a.m. = YAWN. Either make a point or save your time.....and ours. I have an idea. It may be an outlandish one, but here goes: If Kingfish is a news gatherer and news source and news breaker, why doesn't he call Kuykendall and ask him to respond to the anonymous letter. Or get in a car and go up there and be the man-on-the-street with a cheap mic and notepad.

That must be an automatic-response trigger for all suggestions directed at the blogsite. It appears verbatim, regularly.
Who in the heck wrote this bilge?
I'll tell you who wrote this...the authors of Desoto County Reform are Mrs. Brian Hodges (whose husband is a mayoral candidate in Olive Branch), Heather Fox (supporter of Brian Hodges) and Lori Dooley (attached links speak for themselves).
I find it very interesting that these women profess to be advocates for Desoto County Schools when two of the three send their children to private schools. One fraudulently enrolled her child in a school for which she was not zoned and blamed the district when she got caught in her lie. One claimed her daughter's school had a terrible mold problem that made her daughter sick. This claim was unfounded. I have yet to read anything but bashing of a school system that all four of my children attended. I will add my youngest will graduate with honors in a few weeks and has been accepted to Yale. My other three children are also in college or college graduates and productive members of society. More than I can say for authors of DCR.
I have read their posts for months and can tell you that they read much like a shoty gossip column with no meritt or truth, mixed with flat out lies. The site contains contradiction after contradiction....bashing a school board member for his voting record on the school board in one post, then stating in the next post that he is a wonderful man, husband and father. Going on to say that she has nothing but good things to say about this man and wishes him luck in his campaign for alderman.
This group preaches honesty, integrity and transparency yet they lack all of thee above.

You will have to cut and paste the above links but I assure you they are worth the time. Just goes to show you what kind of people are pulling the strings behind DCR.
anonymous 8:23,
Thank you for the info. Things are coming together now. I've tried to post on that Reform page several times but if I disagree with their twisted version of the truth my posts are immediately removed.
9:11 sez, "I've tried to post on that Reform page several times but if I disagree with their twisted version of the truth my posts are immediately removed."
So, your answer to THAT dilemma is to post HERE? You'll be censored HERE PLUS being told to get your own blog! :)
Accidentally deleted this anonymous comment.
Always amusing to see the deranged disgruntled like 5:30 AM complain about JJ and yet they are still here reading and commenting.
I agree with 11:01.....the writer could use a little help. Sounds like my 5 year old trying to tell a story.
