PP activists have some things to say about GOP women

No way to spin it: today sucks. Weather sucks. The rain sucks. For many people the closures suck. Don't feel like posting much myself, if you want to know the truth. So I'm going to throw up a couple of things and write out some longer posts I've been putting off and publish them later this week. Here is a video from the Planned Parenthood rally against GOP women in Tampa recently. Enjoy.

These women say that the Republican women don't have a reality function or allow their husbands to influence them too much. Our foreign wars have taken so much away from domestic programs. If you maintain a hostile forward military & diplomatic posture in Asia and the Pacific, all the health, education, and social needs that effect mainstream women will be diminished.

"If you maintain a hostile forward military & diplomatic posture in Asia and the Pacific,"

huh? we are spending billions in the Mideast, not Asia and the Pacific.

what is a "reality function"? English not your native language, perhaps?

These women are completely offensive. As a former Democrat, now Republican, I can tell you I make my own decisions. I do read. I am aware, and I don't look to my husband to tell me how to vote.
They are actually saying that because I (and women like me) don't agree with them, that it's because we don't know any better?
Sometimes women are their own worst enemies.

Po' delusional DonnerKay. It is a shame you remain so politically inconsequential. Sweetheart, only in your unctuous fatty world is the running of Kohn's opinion column the equivalent to FOX News' taking Ryan down. Toodles.

11:03 Afghanistan, Pakistan, etc are considered to be Central Asia. South Korea, Japan, Australia, & the Philippines are our Pacific expenditures which counterweights China. Should Romney be elected, he would carve out Syria as a USA dependent along with Israel, then the Near East would dominate all of our other foreign adventures. Women would see their values completely abandoned.

Really? You're worried about Romney?

Why are there no progressive women in this country today protesting against the abhorrent treatment of women in the newly liberated (Hah!) countries of Egypt and Libya?

The abuse of women continues unabated throughout the Islamic world. Why aren't all the leftists demanding that Obama do something?

Maybe the MSM should ask Obama how he feels about virginity checks.

10:47 for God's sake it's AFFECT. The effects of Hurricane Isaac have affected my patience.

Anonymous said...

Why won't they protest against the treatment of women in the mideast? Because there is a viable fight against women in the USA, and the mideast doesn't get attention from the US or UN unless oil is involved.

Anonymous said...

The only fight against women in the USA is a false contrived one.

They ignore the treatment of women by radical Muslims (e.g., throwing acid in the face of girls who dare to be girls who go to school)for the same reason they never mention the hanging of homosexuals in Iraq because, well, they're homosexuals.

It's the major reason the left has lost all credibility with reasonable people.

For what it's worth, I've sent my husband off to the polls before with a cheat sheet on a post-it, telling HIM to vote for.

Someone needs to tell these "ladies" (I dunno, are they ladies when they don't shave their armpits?), that most women now DO have backbones. Even Republican ones. (Gasp.)

If domestic entitlement programs have suffered due to war siphoning off available funds, MY GOD, what would this place look like if that money were available stateside?

Well, I am more than a little concerned as a woman that the GOP platform doesn't make exceptions for rape, incest, or life of the mother when it comes to abortion.

I'm more than a little concerned by GOP legislators at the state and federal levels introducing bills than would outlaw birth control ( the latest being that life begins at the last menustral cycle and no, I didn't make that up and yes, a GOP female introduced that bill).

My GOP female friends were against the Parenthood Amendment to a woman. And, while they are mostly Pro-life, aren't happy with the success of the extremists in the GOP . They are convinced, however, that fiscal issues trump woment's issues. They, to a woman, also, hate Obama.

There are a few women who want men to be in charge and look after them and trust men to do so. They have never really worked, don't understand much about government or business , and rely on men to inform them about issues as they lack a practical framework. That's just reality and no sense in denying it.

I'm not so confident as some of my GOP female friends in how well men manage anything as I've watched too many men screw things up. And, I've watched too many female "administrative assistants" keep things from falling apart.

But, the real kicker, it seems to me, is that rights to self-determination , once lost, are pretty hard to recover.

And, there are so many " pants on fire" rated lies in this campaign, I can't trust what candidates' SAY. I have to look at behavior and the bills being introduced by the GOP, the lack of cooperation on anything, anytime is what I have to rely upon.

I will tell you, it's rather hard to believe that once the GOP took over the House, that the entire behavior hasn't been about this national election and NOT about the good of the nation. Failing to agree to do what was needed to keep our rating was HUGE to me. Trying to blame that on Obama was a "pants on fire" and especially when Ryan played a role in losing our rating.

Then there is the " pants on fire" catering to the " birthers" . Romney's " need an American" to lead us out of our mess last night was a nod to them.

Then , I get that Florida is a key state so that's why Tampa was chosen but ignoring that it's hurricane season seemed to indicate a lack of attention to detail. And, then I wouldn't give any 82 year old carte blanche to speak so...that's not instilling confidence in leadership abilities either.

It's behavior vs words that makes me less than enthusiastic about this ticket.

And, if loyalists can't see why the GOP is frigtening some women and giving the left ammunition, then I'd say you are deaf and blind.

Which extremists have been successful. Name them.

Admit it August 31, 2012 8:30 AM. You were never going to vote for anyone but Obama. That fake sense of objectivity you try to parlay here time and time again will work better if you try to bullshit the interns.

8:53 am and 8:57pm We can start with the Parenthood Amendment supporters.
Paul Ryan doesn't believe there should be an exception to rape, incest, or life of the mother when it comes to abortion.
Didn't I mention the GOP representative in NC who with GOP support just passed a bill that " life begins at the last menstrual
cycle" ?
And,didn't I mention the " birthers" like Trump who seem to miss that American women liked knowing they could have their child anywhere in the universe and be confident that child would be an American citizen?

I understand that neither you nor the Democrats like to be challenged when you drive over the cliff on issues, but frankly, it doesn't change the fact that I'm independent minded enough to call BS on both of you.

I wish I had confidence in either candidate. Some years there has been a clear choice. But, Obama has not been a good President and Romney is saying so many things I know are not true, and has yet to indicate that his fiscal policies will be different from the horrendous one's Bush made, that I can't feel enthusiastic about either.
I want to know what he will DO differently to create jobs. This notion that generically reducing taxes on business, industry and the wealthy will do it and cutting spending will do it, is mythical. I know many of you believe that nonsense, but it's economic myth. It's HOW and where you cut taxes and spending that matter. It should be strategic.

And,here's some really bad news. Those of us who think for ourselves may be a minority but we are a minority that can swing a close election. Berating us , for sure, isn't a smart strategy.

You wanted a name...here's two...Arizona State Rep Kimberly Yee and the Governor who signed it, Gov. Jan Brewer.
Called " The Women's Health and Safety Act", it too deems a woman pregnant two weeks before conception. The law went into effect Aug. 30th.

Kansas GOP voted for and passed a law that prevents a woman's doctor for telling her of any birth defects the baby she's carrying might have.

Michigan GOP Senate bill 4119 requires that fetal remains passed 6 weeks gestation have to be handled like human remains which will mean Michigan families who experience miscarriage at 10weeks 1 day will have to pay for a funeral.

Shall I give you more examples?

hmm... not only is the silence deafening, but a few conservative women might NOW understand why women in the states above, even in the GOP, are more than a little worried!

It's worst than this and not just about abortion. Changes in domestic violence and child abuse laws are interesting too.

Surely GOP loyalists don't want me to go THERE?

Please, for your sake, get over yourself. There won't be any close election to swing in Mississippi. You are going to vote for Obama. GUARANTEED.

The Arizona law does NOT even BEGIN to suggest that pregnancy begins with the last menstrual cycle and ONLY a brain dead idiot can read such a far fetched idea into what the law DOES say.

That law simply uses the last menstrual cycle as the point at which to begin counting so that NO baby will be aborted at 20 weeks or more past gestation. Very few women know exactly when they become pregnant and no doctor can state PRECISELY the gestation age of any fetus. However, they DO know that a fetus feels pain at 20 weeks. So, Arizona simply starts counting at the last menstrual cycle to make SURE no 20 week or older fetus is TORTURED while being aborted. If the last period was less than 20 weeks ago, the fetus cannot be 20 weeks or more old. Plain and simple.

So "anonymous", I'm really curious about this. Did you actually READ the Arizona law YOURSELF or did you take somebody else's word for what it says? You CLAIM to think for yourself but I find it hard to believe that you are SO seriously lacking in basic reading comprehension skills. SURELY, you are just repeating what someone else told you....aren't you??

Anonymous said...

8:30 pm I wouldn't challenge MY reading comprehension skills if YOU don't understand " what counting from the last menstrual cycle" means. Don't know much about ovulation either or when it commonly occurs, huh?

This law effectively puts conception beginning at the last menstrual cycle. If you don't think that EXTREME, I'm amazed. And, you apparently didn't read ALL the law or link THIS bill with other Arizona bills where conception is the key phrase.

It's not me with comprehension problems if you can't see separate bills as part of an overall strategy to make not just abortion impossible without exceptions, but to prevent artificial insemination and eliminate many forms of birth control( the ones that don't prevent conception but prevent the egg from attaching to the uterine wall like an IUD).

6:34 pm I'm well aware that MS's electoral votes will all go to Romney.

I don't have to vote FOR Obama to NOT vote for Romney or didn't that occur to you?

I don't expect the 60% of MS who voted down the parenthood crap to stay home or for enough of them to stay home to matter, either.

But, that vote in a conservative, Pro-Life state and national polls ought to be a hint to you that the GOP is taking quite a strategic risk pandering to their extremists on this issue. Akin is not the only fruit loop out there...he got that nonsense from the head of Pro-Life who popped up with it in 1988 if memory serves..Willke? Isn't that his name? And, don't you think the Dems know Willke is a big Romney supporter? Just as the GOP hits Obama with his supporters, you don't think the Dems will do that?

YOU may not believe I've voted for candidates of both parties, but the strategists in both parties apparently do. And, I dont' think I'm the only female Independent that's been identified from polling records or who finds this issue troublesome, but maybe I am...you really want to bet the election on that?

Bravo to:
"The only fight against women in the USA is a false contrived one." It’s an old childhood game-the sky is falling and if you don't agree with me then you're stooopid....

"Admit it August 31, 2012 8:30 AM. You were never going to vote for anyone but Obama. That fake sense of objectivity you try to parlay here time and time again will work better if you try to bullshit the interns." Couldn't have said it better.

"Those of us who think for ourselves may be a minority but we are a minority that can swing a close election. Berating us , for sure, isn't a smart strategy." Aw, a variation of that same childhood game (I'm smart and if you don't agree with me, you're stooopid cause I’m important.)

"I don't have to vote FOR Obama to NOT vote for Romney or didn't that occur to you?" This is hilarious.

Let’s see if we can get all of the Obama-ites talking points:
-pretend you are republican woman who can fake hysteria...check
-pretend you are just so damn brilliant that anyone who doesn't agree with you must be in the dark...check
-if still not working, say--stop hitting on me....check
-if all else fails, drive home the most important issue----you don't have to vote for obama, but just don't vote for Romney...check.

Every time I see this same old tired playlist trotted out, I just crack up laughing. Obama-ites just haven’t caught on that this stuff is what makes us smile—when you trot out this old stuff, we know you’re desperate and got nothing else to offer.

Hm, ‘desperate and nothing else to offer’ kind of sums up BHO.

"Kansas GOP voted for and passed a law that prevents a woman's doctor for telling her of any birth defects the baby she's carrying might have."

Seems like sheer, total, utter BS to me. This would force a doctor to violate his obligation to the patient, leaving himself or herself open to the mother of all malpractice suits, as well as jeopardizing a medical license for deviating grossly from standards of care.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
