Update on Fine Arts Institute of Mississippi

I thought I would publish a collection of the recent stories on the controversy involving The Fine Arts Institute of Mississippi, a charity run by Bill Murphy and connected to Tim Johnson. The Secretary of State issued a Cease and Desist order recently which was pretty damning in its investigation of the charity. Copy of Order. Mr. Murphy responded on his website with a vigorous defense that termed the charges against him a bunch of "misleading information floating around on the airwaves" and posted an itemized list of expenditures made by the charity. Mr. Murphy has also appeared on various talk shows to defend his actions.

Meanwhile, the Madison County Journal reported this week that one of Murphy's employees apparently has a cozy little deal selling pesticides to Madison County. She operates her business (at least up until recently, and may still be) inside the offices of FAIM, while also being paid as a part-time employee of FAIM. Murphy used to be a road manager for the county and has retained Supervisor Tim Johnson as a lobbyist for his charity. (The SOS said this was a violation.)

It should also be noted the trial for former FAIM employee Silbrina Wright has been postponed until May. Ms. Wright was indicted nearly a year ago in Madison County for allegedly embezzling nearly a thousand dollars from the charity. She claims the charge is in retaliation for turning FAIM into the State for several violations and has filed a wrongful termination suit in Hinds County. A review of Ms. Wright's indictment shows the prosecutor is none other than Rebecca Mansell, no stranger to controversy herself. In fact, multiple sources have informed JJ Faye Peterson's former prosecutor was seen this week at the offices of the Gaming Commission, which recently shut down the bingo operation which funds FAIM. (Boxcar Bingo is currently allowed to operate pending an appeal of the Commission's decision.).

This case keeps getting more and more interesting.

I'm sure the "musical sets" at Pan Asia were all paid for by FAIM, too, though Murphy is mostly paying for a party for all his buddies.

And what about the trip to South America? Wonder how that fits into the charity's contributions?

Madison County is starting to remind me of Louisiana. Murphy, Johnson, Warnock, Hawkins-Butler, etc. They are all stinking to high heaven!

Anonymous said...

And I gotta be honest - that picture on the home page of FAIM's website creeps me out a little. When I first saw those two legs, I thought I had been misdirected to a website for some "gentlemen's club." THEN I saw the ballet shoes.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, and the "topless" photo of pudgy Murphy is GROSS.

When did PanAsia go out of business? Alexander's in Madison (a great Italian restaurant) just went under too (no thanks to the eternal road construction that blocked their entrance).

Kingfish said...

WHAT?

Panasia went out of business? You're kidding.

So what? What does mosquito spray have to do with anything? From what company does the City of Madison's mosquito spray come from? Bet it's the same as the county, maybe a different rep.

Is D I Smith's hair turning brown? Ask the Mayor...

Anonymous said...

The pile just gets deeper and deeper for this charity and the local politicians. If Murphy approved the purchase of this spray, owned by one of his FAIM employees, while a employee of Madison county, wonder who else's hands are in the pocket of that county. Things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmmmm,

T W Sales and Marketing is just Teresa Wilson, who has an office inside FAIM, without paying rent, but collecting a salary from FAIM, while doing business with Madison Co.,,,,,,,,,

QB said...

Panasia is open and open til 10 tonight.

Anonymous said...

What about the production company he also owns. The secretary of states website has him listed under I.S Productions

Anonymous said...

Did PanAsia move then? The last time I drove by Beagle Bagel, the old Patty Peck site, etc, there was a new logo lit up on the building.

QB said...

It moved around 2 years ago near Old Canton and Lake Harbor.

3:06 - thanks for the update. You can see how often 1) we can afford to go out to eat or 2) how often we're willing to fight the traffic on County Line Road ;-)

Kingfish said...

thanks. I didn't think it was closed.

Anonymous said...

you people are sick leave Teresa Wilson has nothing to do with Bill mess she just happens to work there...

Anonymous said...

well it certainly looks like she does...Bill was the purchasing Clerk when she became a vendor for the County and she has a office inside the Charity really how kosher is that Friend of Teresa Wilson?

Anonymous said...

well Bill quoted on one of his many interviews that he only made 118,000 which I think is still excessive..but then I read reports were he made up to 155,000...WOW Bill...Thats all I have to say..

Anonymous said...

Kingfish what controversy has Rebecca Mansell been involved in? And why has this not been reported I just don't trust Madison County can this poor girl move her case to another county?

Anonymous said...

Madison County has a real problem with fair contractual regulation remember Rudy Warnock I would not be surprise if he is not some how connected to this mess....

Anonymous said...

Who else buys mosquito spray for T.W. Sales I wonder if it's Ridgeland or Madison?

Anonymous said...

Friend of Teresa and Bill... It wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for all the facts that are posted by the SOS...I don't think they would go as for as posting this information if they couldn't back it up...and too Teresa Wilson was once a Board member in this poor excuse of a Charity and she now work their Tim was a board member and he also benefited..if not illegal certainly a little unethical don't you think.

Anonymous said...

Kingfish can you answer the ? regarding Rebecca inquiring minds would like too know please....

Anonymous said...

National News are getting very interested in this Madison County Drama....

All right, knock it off, knuckleheads. I don't care if true or not true, the lurid accusations and statements need to stop unless they can be backed up. I'm now about to start zapping stuff.

Kingfish said...

As for Ms. Manselle, I'm sure if we wait long enough Jane will be on here with an explanation.

Anonymous said...

Kingfish, have you considered posting your mailing address so that people who might have confidential information to share with you can be assured of anonymity?

Anonymous said...

Odd that you didn't send him a private email to ask that question.

Anonymous said...

Kingfish, What great work. I'm in NM and have heard nothing about this....Thank You for what you uncover.

Anonymous said...

144pm = I'd suggest you create a temp email address and email Kingfish. You could fax as well.

Anonymous said...

To 1:44PM

Why? Are you under the mistaken impression that email is some kind of private, protected method of communication?

If a person wants to provide information or documents and still remain anonymous, leaving a digital footprint's not the way to go about it.

I don't believe Kingfish is a bought-out s*b like most "journalists" these days. But any journalist can be court-ordered to reveal a source. He cannot be compelled to give up a source if he doesn't know who the source is, can he?

From some of the comments, it looks like there are people in Madison County who know where the bodies are buried, and if they want to get the information to the public they need a way to provide that info. that protects their identity while providing deniability to KF.

That's true for people who are witnessing the "jackassery" that occurs all over this state--not just in Madison County, by the way.

Mansell has had five cases reversed in four years for prosecutorial misconduct. Her reputation for not playing by the rules is pretty widely known among criminal defense lawyers.

It's sad that these people keep operating with what seems to be without a care in the world. Unbelievable. What about Mayor Gene Megee this Charity is operating in his City(Ridgeland). The Mayor Of Olive Branch has already expressed what I think is concerns about the Bingo Operations in his city. Now Megee what do you have to say about this?

Anonymous said...

Wow.Thanks Jane..After reading over some of these files I understand your point and the need to have proof to backup claims against anyone. especially if you claim someone has been unfaithful with his friend's wife and now they are mishandling funds together.

Anonymous said...

If a person wants to provide information or documents and still remain anonymous, leaving a digital footprint's not the way to go about it.

If you are lame then you are absolutely correct. But to think that you can't send something to KF electronically and still be 99.999999% sure that you haven't left a "digital footprint" is ignorance on your part.

Looks like the stalkers are coming out of the woodwork now KF. Somebody sure doesn't care for what you are writing.

Anonymous said...

Whatever, Dude. I do support what he's written, and so you've completely misinterpreted my meaning.

Anonymous said...

He? I though Kingfish was a she. This damn site is confusing.

"If you are lame then you are absolutely correct. But to think that you can't send something to KF electronically and still be 99.999999% sure that you haven't left a "digital footprint" is ignorance on your part."

That is lame. Those of us in law enforcement know how very easy it is to trace through email.

Anonymous said...

Looks like your stalker is back KF. Next they'll be asking for your SSN and a blood sample.

Anonymous said...

you are a stalker's stalker if ever there were a such. But I think you are trying to divert the attention from the facts that someone has information that can backup the claims that connects the dots and give clarity to this Murphy Clan scandal. Maybe just maybe; you may know that these things are true and you are insuring that secrets stay secrets. What's done in the dark will come to the light....

Kingfish said...

There are ways to create phony IP addresses if you decide to use a "temproray" email to send me something.

There is one guy that has driven Ladd, Lange, NMC, and others crazy. They've done their best to figure out who he is and haven't been able to. He has used proxy IP addresses and other little tricks.

Kingfish said...

and I haven't really done anything on this story. All I've done is collected the recent media coverage and placed it all into one post for you all to read and in fairness to Mr. Murphy, I've posted a link to his explanation as well.

Anonymous said...

Look here are the instructions for non-tracable accounts. Time is the only concern.

1. Proxy IP addy's keep records for as little as never and as much as 6 months...someone can help me here that knows more, but most keep them for a bit b/c of the server requirements to provide proxy services.
2. Sign into a proxy. www.proxy.org does a good job of giving sites.
3. Sign into a second, third, and so on...
4. Go to an anonymous email site that does not require return addy. It will maintain the IP from the last proxy you used, but then its a lot of legwork to get through the others you used until it gets back to you.
5. If time is on your side, one will be overwritten before any ID can be confirmed.

Do you know the resources required to trace back to source under this scenario???

Anonymous said...

Thanks, anon 2:20.

Anonymous said...

This is hilarious! What's next, a secret decoder ring so Kingfish can translate the secret confidential message? LMAO.

Anonymous said...

umm, umm, some folks just take stuff soooooo personal when they get "caught".
lol @ 6:12, maybe a scryer, too!

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
