Someone just told me how much better Chinn is than Latham.

1. Who do you think trained Chinn?
2. Latham has actually gotten Mississippi divorce law changed by the US Supreme Court.
3. When it comes to practicing law, Chinn can be a prick, Larry can be a motherfucker.

And Latham don't have to run around TELLING everyone he is Darth Vader like Chinn does. His work always did his talking for him.

Fascinating, Thompson is Chinn's gopher. Richard Roberts has a much deeper bench than Chinn.

Not voting on this stupid poll. Especially with your MF above.

Then don't vote.

Anonymous @6:52 Who cares if you vote on the stupid poll or not. I'm guessing you're an adult, if you're on this website. Grow up and act like one, those words should'nt be foriegn to you. Deal with or GTFO. Surely, you know what that means.

When I was searching or a divorce lawyer a few years back, I looked at the local lawyer blogs. I looked at Chin's. I did not choose him, as I did not like his style based on how he presented himself on his blog. He just seemed...mean spirited and willing to be sneaky in ways that disturbed me. I wanted strength but fairness in an attorney. I chose one of the others listed in the poll, and was satisfied with his services, and continue to read his(quite educational)blog.

Mean spirited and sneaky...Mark Chinn? Maybe you should've meet the man in person, instead of forming an opinion based upon a blog.

Wonder if Kingfish is mean and sneaky? By reading his blog, I would think he would have to be, at times.

Mark Chinn is a great guy. He handled MY divorce. He represented my husband. He did his job with class and dignity. It wasn't "pretty", but they NEVER are.

So should only those who are the product of an unsuccessful marriage vote in this poll? Just askin'.

Of course you read this blog of your own free will.

My two cents:

L.C. James and his son David are, in my mind, far and away the best divorce lawyers in the entire state. Every lawyer in this poll will do you a great job, but if the chips are down and you need the absolute best, go with L.C. and David.

Have always heard that LC is the one to get. However, my experience with him left me with the impression that he has lost his edge. Most important thing to consider is who your soon to be ex-spouse hires. If they are working with a pitbull, you better make sure your attorney can hold his own. Art of War 101

Friend of mine got Reeves and Reeves told him he had nothing to worry about, LC was overrated, it was a name, etc. Then they went to Court and the LC that earned the reputation showed up with his A game. Friend was a smart, savvy guy who didn't lack for a backbone, been in court before, and said he never wanted to go through an examination like that ever again.

2:47 LC is still a tough divorce attorney to argue with and to beat. If you're on the opposite side of him, you better damn sure have the 2nd best attorney, which would be Chinn. LC will tear your ass up in the courtroom and it isn't always pretty.

Having gone through two divorces, I must say, I wish you had listed MEDIATION as an alternative. It would save a lot of time, energy, and folks accumulated wealth. The above type of discussion only furthers the disruptive environment of divorce in general, and leaves a lot of wrecked lives. Additionally, I find it a bit awkward that men are the best divorce attorneys in town; only furthers the culture of Jacktown - hit 50 and divorce her for a younger chick and make damn sure she don't get sheeeat. Shame! Also, its Mississippi, not LA/NY/Miami, get over yourselves, we still come in last place...even in divorce judgments...but then again what self-respecting lawyer wouldn't go for the bank account??? :0

Why is it awkward men are the best divorce lawyers in town? Um, they are.

In fact, the two WORST divorce lawyers in town are women but that doesn't mean all female divorce lawyers suck either. In fact, the one I would choose is the best one is not even on the list because she is in Nashville: Lisa Binder. Referred three friends to her over the years and watched her kick ass, including Chinn's. She moved a few years ago so she is not on the list but in my opinion, she is the best one in town when she lived here and I'd put her up against anyone on a divorce.

LC is older and been doing this for years, So has Chinn and Chinn trained under Latham from what I understand, and Latham is who I voted for.

Not trying to make it a he/she thing, just curious that my call on on the Jacktown wealth - moderate wealth 200-500k a year and 20 plus years of marriage - all hire bull dogs (men).

Are you divorced kingfish? Have you ever hired a divorce attorney? How did you decide on an attorney? You said you referred friends to Lisa Binder. She was an average divorce lawyer. Nothing great about her. Why would you choose Binder? If you're choosing someone based on their expertise and courtroom skills you better be looking for someone other than Binder( not that she's in Jackson any longer). How many times do you think LC and Chinn kicked her ass? Many more times than she kicked their ass.

I'm one of the friends who used Lisa Binder (Milner then), and she did a great job. When Chinn and she were on the phone in my presence, she handled it well, told him to call her back when he calmed down, and hung up.

We got everything worked out. We never had to go to court.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
