Reservoir Patrol Officer Brady Chamblee initiated the traffic stop after he observed Keely Sexton was driving a Ford Explorer with California license plates that expired in July 2023. Sexton explained to Chamblee the SUV belonged to her husband James, a former Los Angeles County deputy.
At first, the conversation was amicable as they both laughed. Sexton said she was traveling from Kohl's and handed over her license immediately upon request. Observing the driver's license was issued in California, Chamblee asked Sexton if she lived in Mississippi or California. Sexton replied she just moved to Mississippi. She claimed in her lawsuit she lives with her mom in Jackson and would have told the officer so if he had asked.
As Chamblee conducted the traffic stop, Sergeant Hope Malley arrived on scene. The good sergeant walked up to the passenger's window and shined flashlight inside. Sexton briefly glanced over at Malley. That little glance would soon prove to be not quite so little as the traffic stop progressed.
"What did I do to her, did you see that look?" exclaimed Malley as the two officers discussed the traffic stop in Chamblee's SUV. Chamblee laughed, "She mean-mugged the crap out of you." (3:00 in Chamblee video) Malley repeated herself two minutes later, "I still can't get over that look she gave me. if looks could kill, I'd be dead."
The so-called look apparently got under Malley's skin as she and Chamblee repeatedly mentioned the "mean look" over the next two hours.
The two officers returned to Chamblee's patrol vehicle so he could run her license. Chamblee said Sexton was driving with a neck pillow behind her head. "Something doesn't seem right with her. I didn't see any bags in there. Yeah, she would have killed you if looks could kill," said Chamblee.
Reservoir Patrol dispatch provided Sexton's maiden name and said she was from Meridian. "Quite a drive," said Malley. The sergeant advised Chamblee to ask Sexton where she was from so as to trip her up.
Chamblee asked Sexton where she was from. The Meridian native immediately said Meridian but promptly answering a question correctly was enough for Chamblee as he later told Malley she answered too quickly.
Returning to the Explorer, Chamblee asked Sexton if there was anything illegal in the car and recited a list of drugs. "Do you have a problem with me looking inside the vehicle?" asked Chamblee. "Why?" replied Sexton before stating she wanted to call a lawyer. The tenor of the traffic stop quickly changed. "I'm going to call a K9. Be right back."
Flowood police officer Lin Easterling arrived with his K9 37 minutes after Chamblee initiated the traffic stop. Chamblee ordered Sexton to exit the vehicle, which she did, when the K9 arrived. The officer told Easterling Sexton hesitated to answer questions and acted suspicious even though she promptly answered all of his inquiries earlier.
The handler took his K9 around the Explorer three times (39:00). Upon the third pass, the dog sat down and just looked up at his handler (Hotdiggitydamn! We got us a hit!) Chamblee immediately handcuffed Sexton and said the K9's actions gave him "probable cause to search the vehicle." "You are just being detained while we search the vehicle," said the officer. Small comfort to Keely Sexton as she protested while her captor ordered her to be honest. Chamblee placed her in the back seat of his vehicle.
The Dudley Do-Rights of Rankin County proceeded to remove interior panels, all bags, the spare tire, a case of dog food, and shopping bags as they spent the next hour dissecting the interior. A frustrated Chamblee searched several boxes of shoes, positing she was using the shoes to transport drugs. (1:58:00) Sexton's complaint states a body shop estimated the damage to be $4,600.
Easterling's K9 sniffed everything removed from the Explorer but found nothing. Thus two hours after pulling over Sexton, Chamblee told a sobbing Sexton she was not under arrest and would be cited. (2:09:00). Mrs. Sexton continued to cry as the Reservoir Patrol Officer told her several times to calm down.
Sexton sued PRVWSD, Chamblee, Malley, Flowood, and Easterling in Madison County Circuit Court in November 2025. The plaintiff filed an amended complaint in March.
Attorney William Quinn represents Sexton. The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Bradley Mills.
Chamblee is an old friend of this website. Earlier post.

This is why people don’t trust law enforcement
How would the officer feel if someone did this to his wife? My guess he wouldn’t like it but he had no problem doing to someone else’s wife
Like most of us, I have been working various jobs all of my adult life. I cannot understand why you would think overstepping your boundaries in ANY JOB is the key to success. If you were an accountant, and you lambasted a client because you didn't like the way they looked at you, you prob wouldn't be in business very long! On the same token, if you are a police officer why on Gods green earth would you tear someone's car apart, doing almost 5k in damage. If you do a quick search and you don't find any drugs, let them go on their way!!!! Its gonna cost little man a lot more than 5 grand to settle this. Some people have no home training and it shows!!
If you are so ignorant that you drive a car with Texasplates (especially people of hispanic backgrounds) in the county of Rankin, it is your fault.
Thought this was old news...?
In case I ever get stopped by law enforcement in Rankin County, how long should I think about where I am from before I answer?
They must have missed the day at the police academy where mean looks are not against the law.
@2:31 does that woman look hispanic to you francis?
Very interesting. They must have been trained by the Rankin County Sherriff office
Pretty sure it was a California tag
K-9’s should be outlawed for this work. They are too easily manipulated by their handler to give a signal which is just sitting down. How we allow the dissolution of the bill of rights based on a dog trained to do a trick is beyond pathetic. Everyone knows these dogs are only as reliable as their handler’s hunch.
Pretty easy to avoid this. Just don't make rude faces at cops. Had she just smiled and said hello this would be avoided. Be polite to our LE officers. Sad to see so many here are not understanding that
At the very least, they owe this woman whatever the cost to fix the damages to her vehicle. But I have a feeling she and her lawyer aren't going to settle for "the very least."
The "goon squad" is just jealous that they weren't there too.
"Do you have a problem with me looking inside the vehicle?" asked Chamblee. "Why?" replied Sexton before stating she wanted to call a lawyer. The tenor of the traffic stop quickly changed. "I'm going to call a K9. Be right back."

Rut Roh!
So the traffic stop was prolonged for 37 minutes while she was detained in her vehicle?
Or she was free to go for 37 minutes and sat there in the car with the REZ officers and then the K9 showed up?
Disagree- the K9 did a very good job of providing evidence that this searech was rigged and it's all on video. (after several trips around the vehicle with no alert then looks at handler officer for signal, AFTER which then and only then 'alerts' )
maybe this is why the former police chief carlos depuma disappeared about 2 months ago.
this chamblee clown has worked for no less than 5 different jurisdictions and has been fired from them all.
reservoir patrol has a long history of taking in rejects from other jurisdictions.
Seriously?! So, if I am not nice to law enforcement, they have a right to destroy my car and falsely accused me of possessing drugs?
these two little thugs need to be turned over the the federal authorities and prosecuted for a federal criminal civil rights violation.
Another example of the lack of effective, thorough, LE pre-employment background investigations in the backwoods (or backwards) state.
Are you bootlickers not surprised that you live in a high surveillance police state where people like this and Bryan Bailey can absolutely fuck you over with impunity and immunity? Just as long as they stop short of raping you with a dildo and shooting you in the face!
the kingfish and wlbt ch 3 reporter cj lemaster have already provided the authorities documentation that this little punk chamblee procured his job with reservoir patrol by way of fraud. what hasn't he been fired?
Another in a long list of examples showing idiots with authority on display. Shame on the Rez Polizei for employing these unabashed and unadulterated dickheads.
according to the complaint on file with the madison county circuit court this lady was so shook up about what happened to her and her vehicle she ended up in a hospital.
I'm boycotting YouTube, AGAIN (over scam ads they persist in showing me), and maybe it's in one of the videos. But was the Victim expected to put her belongings, and her vehicle's interior elements, back into the vehicle, and drive off in it?
Was she transported somewhere, and the vehicle towed?
I wonder if the dog has been fired. Lol
Malley sounds like a dimwitted high school student.
" Had she just smiled and said hello this would be avoided."
You must have never managed an office full of women.
I once had to break-up a potential cat fight over a damn purse one bought on her lunch hour.
Another woman went ballistic because it looked too much like her handbag.
I retired soon after that nonsensical fiasco.
Reporting bad cops in Rankin County only gets ignored. Ask Sheriff Bryan Bailey… he ignored many complaints from citizens for years. His “Goon Squad” deputies should have received life sentences for all the abuse they did. And he should have also, for covering for them. That’s the beginning and end of that.
The police will hide behind qualified immunity. They always do.
Is 'Malley' one of those surnames, like Ross, which are mostly the shortened forms of surnames which serve as WARNINGS?
