A Complaint Tribunal disbarred Jackson attorney Martin Perkins for his shenanigans that took place while he was suspended from the practice of law.
The Mississippi Supreme Court suspended Perkins for six months in 2021.
The Court said a client retained the attorney and paid a $5,000 fee. Mr. Perkins did not respond to the client nor perform much work on the case. The lawyer did not properly respond to the Bar complaint but said he had "depression" issues. The Bar issued a private reprimand to Mr. Perkins in 2014 and suspended him for 30 days in 2019.Perkins did not seek reinstatement after the 2021 suspension. While suspended, a client paid Perkins $3,500 in May and June 2025 for representation in a child custody case. Perkins "told the client that he was being restated to the practice of law and created the assumption that he had taken a break from practicing due to health issues.
Upon discovery of the suspension, the client asked Perkins to refund the client's money. Perkins asked for another thirty days so he could "complete his reinstatement." Perkins never sought reinstatement and kept the client's money.
The Bar issued a public reprimand against Perkins in 2025 but Perkins blew off the required reading of the public reprimand in Hinds County Circuit Court.
Fed up, the Bar filed a complaint against Perkins in July 2026 and served it upon Perkins on July 27. The disgraced attorney did not respond to the complaint. The Bar asked the Tribunal to issue a default judgment and disbar Perkins.
The Tribunal readily agreed and disbarred Perkins from the practice of law on August 31.
Perkins was interim Hinds County Prosecuting Attorney in 2017.

Slowly but surely weeding out the nutjobs and incompetents.
That's too bad, always liked him on Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom
Good. It’s ridiculous what some of these jerks have gotten away with in the past. Is it possible that The Mississippi Bar is starting to actually go after some of them? It sure seems that way.
New lawyer took over prosecuting attorneys beginning of last year. Suddenly you saw bar action against the Clown, Abby, and others.
never heard of him
So, Kingfish, who is the new lawyer over prosecuting other attorneys? Why has the bar association not pursued disbarment of Bridget Todd for proven illegal things she did in her own divorce case (even falsifying evidence to criminally charge her husband with trying to kill her). The plan was to send her ex to prison if necessary to win custody of his three children.
How come we have to pay lawyers up front? If they bring a dozer or a truck to my shop they & everbody else don't pay me until I'm done...& that dozer better run or I don't get paid! I swear, this country is an Attorney's Paradise...
2:51, no client is REQUIRED to pay any attorney up front. If that’s what the attorney wants the client can choose to go elsewhere. But clients frequently stiff lawyers when the work is done. In your example, you have a mechanic’s lien to protect you from getting stiffed.

The Bar will bend over backwards before dropping the hammer-on a minority attorney
,absent conviction of a major felony
to 2 32 ,,,,picking on a woman for something allegedly done in a divorce/ custody fight..........you must be a real whimp.
so , hes been a fake lawyer since 2021.....................sounds just like a guy on my HOA board for the past few years , who even though he owns no property in this HOA. . Mississippi has more hustler/fakes per square mile than anywhere in the world.
2:51, To add to the correct comment at 5:01,
2:51, To add to the comment at 5:01, once an attorney enters their appearance in a case, they can only get out by order of the court.
They can’t just walk off the job if the client doesn’t pay. The duty to the client continues, whether the client pays or not.
Nobody wants to get stuck having to represent a deadbeat. And the clients who don’t pay are usually the most demanding and ungrateful.
Seriously - both Carlos Moore and Abby Robinson should have been disbarred. Abby doesn't even understand why her appeal was thrown out.
I couldn't help myself so I went on a tame-goose-chase...So, what this tells me is this gentleman has been totally misunderstood.

6:54 pm….there should have never been a custody issue, the kids were his bio kids, not hers. She had no right to them, which is what led to her falsifying evidence to try and get them. There is absolutely nothing alleged about it. She testified in front of the judge that she sent his attorney an X-Ray of a broken hand pulled off the Internet that she claimed to be hers to try and prove domestic violence. Only one of many, many things she did. He was awarded a divorce based on her inhumane treatment. You should read the court’s decision on this case to see why she should be disbarred.
Oh, and by the way, the correct spelling is wimp, of which I am not.
