The would-be replacements for former Hinds County District Attorney Jody Owens are starting to throw their hat in the ring.
The Secretary of State's website reports Marvin Sanders and Darla Palmer qualified for the race. Greta Mack, Wendy White, and Gwen Agho are expected to enter the race as well. The qualifying deadline is August 20.

Are any of them worth a single shit? We want the thugs thrown under the jail. Yes, I mean all of them and for any reason. If they are smoking dope in their car, they ought to get ten years. And we want someone to prosecute the vagrants that camp under bridges, shit on the sidewalk, and trash up every intersection and abandoned building in town. We want them locked up for years so they will get sober and stop using the cash idiots give them at intersections to buy dope and stop breaking into buildings. And, furthermore, we want the people parking in handicap that are far from being handicap (although, maybe mentally) and are far from being employed too, to be locked up for 20 or more years. Sick of it. So dang sick of it. They are going to create vigilantes if they don’t lock these animals up.
Please, fellow Hinds Countians, do not elect a woman for this role. This is a man’s job. An aggressive man’s job. Women are great at a lot of things, but they are too emotional to be judges, cops, DAs, mayors, or any other type of political leader. If the defendant starts crying in the court room, they will get sad and let them go.
Gwen was born with a medical condition where she has no backbone. May know the right thing to do but scared of judges and perception so she fits right in with the rest of the incompetent people at that office.
Those prosecuted by Ashley Allen and Kathryn Newman would say otherwise.
Haven't seen a Darla since Spanky and The Gang. Go Darla.
@ 4:40, we see you Marvin. Sorry she put your clients in the clink
