The Flowood Police Department issued the following statement and mug shot.
The Flowood Police Department has arrested the suspect in connection with a road rage shooting that occurred on Saturday, January 10, 2026, on Lakeland Drive near Treetops Boulevard.
The victim was not injured in the incident.
The suspect has been identified as Kyle Maurice Ramos, a 39-year-old male from Jackson, Mississippi. Following an investigation by Flowood Police officers and detectives, Ramos was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
Ramos is currently being housed at the Rankin County Jail and is being held without bond, pending an initial appearance in Flowood Municipal Court.
This remains an active criminal case. As with all arrests, the charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The Flowood Police Department would like to thank the public for their cooperation and encourages anyone with additional information related to this incident to contact the department.
Kingfish note: Let's see what this ole boy has done. A Hinds County grand jury indicted Ramos in 2017 for being a felon with a firearm. Circuit Judge Winston Kidd sentenced him to serve 4 years in prison but he only had to serve six months of the sentence. Judge Kidd gave him credit for time in jail and ordered him released immediately.
He was convicted of uttering a forgery in 2013.
Capitol Police arrested Ramos in 2024 for possessing a controlled substance . Ramos has not been indicted for the charge.
Yours truly went to the Chick Fil A on East County Line Road yesterday morning. It could have been me. Makes you realize how suddenly life can end.

The shooter is from Jackson. Jackson please keep your criminals in jackson
Jackson’s criminals are leaking out of Jackson. Time to build a wall
Hinds country judges are soft on criminals. That’s why Jackson is a little Detroit
Oh no! The Flowood is doomed!
Have you ever noticed the high percentage of those arrested with a firearm are felons? Almost like it’s a requirement.
Nice photo he’s got a booger.
Once you cross the river, you're in a different world, Maurice! No blessings in Rankin County.
3:22 PM, Hinds County Judges, i.e. Democrats are not soft on crime; Hinds County Judges/Democrats are pro-crime and pro-criminal, and there’s a big difference.
Crime is a Democrat Party tactic used to keep the flight in place guaranteeing Democrats keep control of cities like Jackson forever. Can’t have voters that don’t vote Democrat moving back in and taking over cities like Jackson.
Rankin County should send the bill to Hinds County for jailing this felon they let loose
What if 'these people' could all just dress up and attend a large, multi-gang, multi-family funeral and spend half a da somewhere in the woods at a cemetery and leave the rest of us alone for, say three hours?
Would that not give civilized society a break, albeit brief, from their uncivilized gymnastics?
Dammit boy! He’s stokin his head back and the boy has a Bat in His Cave.
@4:11 that's way too complex a strategy for someone like Judge Wooten to come up with. Now, George Soros on the other hand....
Are there any Chick Fila's left in Jackson? If not, look out burbs!
Good call, 3:43! Nothing like a lively booger controversy, to keep things movin! I fondly remember the last one. Good times...
Do the judges get a bonus if they turn a felon loose? Asking for a friend.
That’s a good question. I can’t think of one
Citizens of Jackson: Please stay in Jackson and Hinds County. We do not want your shithole criminals coming to Flowood. You have destroyed every movie theater, grocery store and shopping area in your crap city.
That is all.
Criminals have no fear of the law when a repeat convicted felon like this guy only serves six months of a four year sentence. If my math is correct, that's one-eighth of his sentence. Criticize judges but also blame the Legislature for approving such lenient release laws.
Also, I'm wondering what is his immigration status?
Is that the new one next to the colonoscopy store behind River Hills?? That's a little bit too close for comfort!
Hinds county DA awaiting trial....
