Shuwaski Young, a Christian conservative, veteran, and public servant, officially launched his campaign for the Republican nomination for Secretary of State in 2027 during an exclusive interview on SuperTalk Mississippi on June 27.
“I’m running to protect our elections, grow Mississippi’s economy, and keep our communities safe,” said Young. “This isn’t about politics, it’s about purpose. It’s time for continued strong, authentic, conservative leadership that delivers results for the people of Mississippi.”

A fifth-generation Mississippian, raised in Noxapater and Stallo, Young brings a deep-rooted commitment to faith, family, public service, and a strong business acumen He has served under both Republican and Democratic administrations in the Mississippi Secretary of State’s Office, as well as in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Young supports Mississippi’s voter ID law, REAL ID, and has proposed a tough-on-crime policy that prioritizes public safety in all 82 counties to improve Mississippi business climate. “No business will invest where workers don’t feel safe, and no child can thrive in chaos,” said Young. “ A safe Mississippi is a prosperous Mississippi, and I will never compromise on keeping our communities secure.
Currently serving on the Neshoba County Republican Executive Committee, Young says his campaign will focus on faith, freedom, and building a stronger future. “We’re going to prove that Mississippi’s best days are ahead rooted in conservative values and led by people who live them every day.”

I worked with him years ago when he was an intern at the SOS office, he is a good guy and would do well as the SOS.
This guy is full of shit. He is not a Republican. He is an opportunist. Look at his LinkedIn page. Still has all his Democratic acolytes listed. He is obviously very proud of this or he would have taken it down.
I like this guy. Of course the blacks call him an Uncle Tom, which is to be expected since he veered from the viewpoint that they feel every black person must adhere to.
How does the SOS impact crime? What am I missing?

Sorry I don’t trust him. Ran against Guest in 2022 and for SOS as a democrat in 2023.
He needs to clean up his “Linken In” page asap.
