A Mississippi Highway Patrol Trooper stands accused of sexual battery.
JPD arrested Zachary McCoy yesterday and charged him with one count of sexual battery. His bond was set at $100,000 and he was placed on GPS monitoring. He posted bond and has been released from custody.
MHP placed McCoy on administrative leave with pay, pending resolution of the case.

Seems like he is getting a free vacation from the taxpayers of Mississippi.
wow, he gets a paid vacation for committing a sex crime.
what jurisdiction was he arrested in? or are such details deleted when it involves a brave officer who ''puts his life on the line everyday''?
Sean Tindell....why is he being paid on leave at the expense of taxpayers?
Musta not been a slow day for buffet bustin' or donut dunkin' or putting his life on the lining. What's a poor trooper to do?
Paid admin leave....this administration is a joke!
MHP only hires low-ethic employees. What a slimy organization. They get ZERO respect from the citizens they supposedly serve. They all think they are above the law. Many are roided-out dorks.

JPD, duh!!!
Did you go to JPS?
I’m surprised the MHP has taken any action. I always thought when you had a gun and a badge you could do what ever you wanted.
Only law enforcement
Only for law enforcement
He’s not the first state trooper to be charged with a sex crime. Remember the trooper few years ago who hung himself in prison. He was sent to prison for touching a little girl. I can’t remember his name
You can do what ever you want, you may not get away with it.
If you read the policy regarding suspension as shown, it shows that they "may" be suspended without pay. It is left to the discretion of his superiors, so if the evidence or charge is not a clear cut or easily discernible matter, they can suspend with pay. If the word "shall" was used in stead, then that is an across the board action regardless of the condition that exist in the charge.
It is clearly permissive but as a taxpayer I would not like my money to fund a paid vacation while he is out on bond and on gps monitoring.
MHP is so disgusting.
