No, this food fight didn't involve the State Auditor as it took place inside City Hall yesterday.
Jackson mayoral candidate Zachary Servis took some shots at Mayor Chokwe Antar Lumumba during the public comments section of the meeting of the City Council. The Mayor did not respond but to say they were all "lies." What did the erstwhile Mr. Servis say? Watch the video below and see.

Wow. Would that be considered slander?
I am hosting the party when he goes to prison.
Servis doesn't have a snowball's chance in Hell of winning this race, but it's refreshing to know that there are still a multitude of people that want to grif.. I mean serve the City of Jackson.
1) why are the majority of the council members not even looking or paying attention to him while he is at the podium? I have my guesses.
2) why is it anytime anyone makes an accusation about the mayor, it is all a lie? As far as I know one person is under federal indictment.
A well-done, impressive presentation, surely a sign of a man who would be a businesslike, effective mayor. Too bad he's white and so doesn't have any chance of winning.
Nobody makes the runoff unless they attack the incumbent head-on.
Will all 21 candidates get same opportunity to filet the mayor in front of Council, which gizzardectomy I would relish to see.
All might say, "You must be tough to enter politics," I would prefer to say, "To succeed in politics, you must sell your soul to the Devil."
Excellent case & point Mr. Servis! Of course the Mayor doesn’t think he should be held accountable. He also thinks we are stupid enough to believe he alone tells the truth & everyone else lies. He can hid behind Melissa Faith Payne all he wants but it doesn’t change the fact he is Under Federal Indictment!
Mr. Servis has a backbone. How refreshing.
Attitude?
No, that guy got Servitude!
Might not be Shad but he sure speaks Shad's language. Pure politics.
If there's an unpaid $20,000 invoice to the pothole company, there should be documentary evidence of it somewhere.
If someone from that company can/will back up the allegation, maybe the DOJ team that is already working on Lumumba's prosecution would want to talk with them. (If they haven't been fired already).
And the damages would be? There's something called the libel-proof plaintiff - when your reputation is so shit you could never prove damages. Damages are an element of defamation.
