The Goon Squad may be gone but 135 Conerly Road in Braxton is not forgotten nor has it been quiet amid allegations of domestic violence and crack use.

Murder, domestic violence, and repeated-drug dealing took place over the years at a Braxton home where six Rankin County law enforcement officers stand accused of torturing two suspects.
To say 135 Conerly Road is known to Rankin County deputies is an understatement. JJ obtained police reports for all arrests at the address through a public records request. The reports state... Rest of article.
Fellow Goon Squad victim Michael Cory Jenkins was not mentioned in any reports.

The victims are clearly no angels. Regardless of that fact, they did not deserve what The Goon Squad did to them, nor did The Good Squad's other victims deserve what happened to them. No one deserves what The Good Squad did to their victims.
Obviously.
No excuses for abuses of power.
I think this is just a coincidence-
As with any profession and especially one involving public service, the test is not how you treat/interact with the best people, but how you handle the difficult cases. Some people will certainly test your self-control but if you have to abuse them you are in the wrong profession. Simple as that.
I want to say one of the victims has a felony warrant out for his arrest and the RCSO is hamstrung due to politics and the obvious and can't arrest him. This place has always been a drug/prostitution house. RCSO went about it the wrong way, but I am pretty sure even they were sick of getting calls and dealing with them. Their attorney's painted them as choir boys helping the old disabled lady friend. She's known in that area for turning tricks for drugs.
Well, with about $400,000,000 less 40% attorney fees coming their way, they will no doubt be buying the finest home in either NEJ or Madison soon. Self solving problem. Moving On Up! Meet your new neighbors, Fauntleroy Big Bux, III. Enjoy!
In before the Mississippi Today/NY Times expose on the continuing issues...
oh wait
What is this with all of the burn ban visits. When I asked the sheriffs office to stop a bonfire behind my house I was told to get my racist old ass back into the house.

Which county?
What happens to their "goon" lawsuit moneys if they are incarcerated ?
98% of the rules/laws in any organization are devised to control 2% of the population that refuses to cooperate. No matter how many rules/laws are created, the 2% will devise new ways to avoid cooperation.
It appears that some of Rankin County's 2% live at 135 Conerly Road in Braxton.
11:47 has a good handle on the situation and the facts.
Let them keep having bonfires. It will eventually get too close to the house and solve all the problems with the house. Some other neighborhood will then get to deal with them.
I'd like to know how many calls for service were made before the Goon Squad showed up.
That $400,000,000 will help ease the pain and suffering.
Beautifully-phrased, 12:47PM! You made that point, extremely well.
Certainly getting his tax money's worth of service from the PoPos and fire dept and paramedics.
The deputy who said there would have to be a disturbance in order for him to intercede in the face of violation of a burn ban is full of shit.
Fire department employees are empowered to enforce burn bans but do not have arrest powers. They can issue citations and fines, but they call the PD or SO for arrests. And an arrest is warranted in the case of a burn ban violation that obviously endangers the safety of dwellings, property or persons.
3:06, me, too. It would be interesting to know the number of emergency calls prior to the Goon Squad incident. There was a homicide at some point.
3:06 PM, the reason I called was my house was the next house. Their bonfire was next to the wood fence of my back yard. It wasn't even close to their house. Nothing like a bunch of drunks with a bonfire during a no fire ban.
This guy is a total dumbass.
With a huge settlement in the works, he can completely change his life forever but, that's not good enough for him.
Acting a fool and staying in trouble seems to be his lot in life.
$400,000.00 less 40% attorney fees ($160,000.00) leaves $240,000.00. That is hardly enough to buy the nicest home in Madison county. P.S., have they gotten a dime yet?
That house/those residence have been a thorn in the side of the local fire department, paramedics, and Rankin SO for years. This is nothing new. Like stated above, Rankin SO just went about the situation wrong and BIG TIME crossed the line. It is what it is... things aren't going to change.
@7:29 PM - Get your eyes examined. It's $400 million, not $400 thousand.
But if the Goons are bad that means the other guys must be good, right? Right?
Here is the moral of the story, if the goons weren’t lazy sadists they could have easily built solid cases against these two and removed the cancer. Instead they decided to screw the cancer and got it pregnant.
Now we have a forest fire out of control and they refuse to put out the fire because it’s too big. The fire is this big because they added diesel. Given time and just a little bit of work no one would have to pay a judgment, only the two residents would be in prison, and the neighbors problem would be solved. Laziness and stupidity will get you every time
Other than the last call, most of these were either medical calls or were prompted by burning in the backyard.
Would this even be a story if the victim wouldn’t have been targeted for attempted murder and thereafter framed on fake drug charges, sexually abused, and tortured? Why does this guy’s misfortunate by the Goon Squad merit a news story that’s mostly about burn-ban violations (and I assume he’s far from the only one in Rankin violating burn bans.). What’s the damn point of this story other than to have some people in your readership possibly feel greater sympathy for the goon squad (quite predictably, some apologists have already showed up).
Try reading the post again unless you purposely omitted some calls that were reported.
What’s the damn point of this story ...

@5:33. I think I'd be putting a far reaching sprinkler on the property line...
To 8:48:
How are things down at Mississippi Today, Jerry?
10:50 am, I put a hose with a high pressure nozzle on it on my side of the fence. When I see smoke I put the nozzle over the fence and turn the water on. Since I can't get any help from the sheriffs office I wanted to protect the community myself.
@11:13. Well at least you know nothing will happen if they call the SO on you since they don't respond to that address! Ha
12:08 PM, no one really lives there. An illegal owns a couple of houses on that street. When the illegals first show up they move into the mobile home. It has no heat or water. Every new bunch that moves in burns everything left be the former group. The walls are torn out and burned. All of the furniture is burned. The only thing left is a big radio. It must only get one station and that station only plays one song. It isn't really a song, just a drum beat that never changes. All of the young illegals gather there on friday evening. The party starts then. It is non stop drum beat until sometimes late sunday night. The drunker they get the louder they play the drum beat. The louder the drum beat the louder they have to yell to be heard over it. The empty beer cases grows until it is large enough to start another bon fire.
Isn't it great that our president allows all of the young men to come into our country.
1:20, I think you are confused about where this house is located.
This blog can’t handle the truth nor many of its commenters.
Live in your fairy-tale world of social injustice while your world burns.
4:51 PM, I am talking about another house. I am having a conversation with 12:08 Pm.
