What a difference a week makes! “They” had tried to
assassinate him just days before. Everything else they had tried had
backfired. Nobody at the RNC even thought or cared about whoever “they”
were anyway.
Nevertheless the Republican National Convention was a roaring success on par with an electrified national revival. Attendees rejoiced that former president Trump had not only survived the attack, but had overcome the latest plan to take him out of the race. Something special happened during those four days and nights.
On the first night Donald Trump introduced Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH) as his Vice Presidential running mate. Vance is not as well known as other candidates in Trump’s top five, but a quick read of his bonafides shows the wisdom of Trump’s decision. What a great choice for now and the future.
One of the most delightful moments of the convention was when Kai Trump, daughter of Donald Trump, Jr., spoke about her grandpa the former president who was bursting with pride as she spoke.
Kai began by saying she wanted to share the side of her grandpa that people don’t often get to see. “To me he’s just a normal grandpa. He gives us candy and soda when our parents aren’t looking.” She said when they play golf together and she’s not on his team, he always tries to get into her head, but she won’t let him. She reminds him that she’s a Trump too! She said her grandpa always sets the bar high. Then added that some day she might catch him.
The crowd loved Kai’s comments about her grandpa. Her tone changed a bit when she talked about him being shot. She said, “A lot of people have put my grandpa through hell, and he’s still standing.” Then she added, “Grandpa you are such an inspiration and I love you.”
Other Trump family members spoke during the convention describing the human side of the former president and rebutting demonic media characterizations. When Trump stood to accept the convention’s nomination, he humbled himself saying he was here only because of God’s grace.
The 2024 Republican National Convention was a roaring success by any measure. The attendees demonstrated time and time again how much they loved every aspect of the event. It was a weeklong celebration of America, patriotism, and common sense values.
As if to stamp a huge exclamation point on the RNC success, President Biden withdrew from the presidential race but added he would stay on as president. Later in a separate post Biden wrote that he is endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee for president, writing, “Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.”
VP Harris released her own statement saying, “I am honored to have the President’s endorsement and my intention is to earn and win this nomination.” She added, “I will do everything in my power to unite the Democratic party — and unite our nation — to defeat Donald Trump and his extreme Project 2025 agenda.”

controversial policy proposals “radical,” and “seriously extreme” at his
rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Project 2025 has never been part of
Trump’s plan. Sorry, candidate Harris. Better do your homework.

Jeez DL, you should first read Project 2025, it’s long, but well segmented by policy so it can be digetsted in small bites, and second read the names of it’s authors, a very large and significant number of whom served in the previous Trump administration.

Trump is losing it. He was cocky and assumed he was going to win and he listened to Tucker Carlson and his sons Uday and Qusay instead of the people who understood the election was close even with Biden in the race. They thought they could start the MAGA revolution victory party already. It was always delusional and apparently they were so high on their own supply during the decision making process that they didn’t realize Biden was very likely to drop out and be replaced by Kamala Harris. Either that or they truly believe it wouldn’t make a difference because they’re are so racist and sexist that they believed it would make no difference.
Whatever the case, naming Vance with obviously very little vetting was a monumental mistake. Even the Wall St. Journal is appalled. Making Rupert mad is never a good idea for Republicans, even Trump.

It’s also bad politics. Conservatives used to believe in a neutral tax code that didn’t play favorites, but Mr. Vance is suggesting the code should be used as a political and cultural weapon against people who don’t share his values. “Raise taxes on the childless” isn’t a winning campaign slogan."

She was DA of SFO, AG of California (6th largest economy in the world), Senator, VP, and now de-facto Presidential candidate of the largest political party in the United States. Trump is in over his head. He’s not a smart man even in his prime which was decades ago. His dumb takes may delight dumbasses like Daniel, but he represents about 1% of the American people. Trump will have to find a way to appeal to decent Americans to have any chance of staying out of prison.
Project 2025 was a mistake. The fact that Trump’s VP candidate wrote the forward to the Project 2025 author’s book will make it impossible to separate it from Trump. This is how we make laws in this country. The bill everyone is talking about was stopped because it would have meant even more illegals would be allowed to cross the border and come into the U.S. The democrats wanted more illegals and saw the bill as a good thing. The republicans didn't want any more illegals and saw the bill as a way for even more illegals to come into our country.

No politician of either democrats or republicans has any idea about paying back what we have borrowed. They will both blame it on the other party. There will never be any paying back. The borrowing will continue. Who is going to make the U.S. pay back any loan?
How about something different, instead of bashing Biden, or Trump, on the debt increases, why not placing the blame where it belongs, on congress. The president, no matter who that may be, can't spend without congress passing appropriations.
