The wheels of justice are moving swiftly indeed for Wayne Callihan and his girlfriend, Victoria Cox. Callihan stands accused of murdering a mother in Louisiana, kidnapping her two young daughters, and killing one of them in Jackson.

The Hinds County grand jury indicted Cox yesterday for capital murder, kidnapping, and sexual battery. The indictment charges:
on and about the 13th day of June, 2024, in the county aforesaid and within the jurisdiction of this Court, the said defendant being a female human being above the age of eighteen (18) ears, did, while acting alone and/or in concert with and/or aiding, assisting or encouraging Daniel Wayne Callihan and/or others known and unknown to the grand jury, willfully, unlawfully, and feloniously kill, a human being, Erin Nicole Brunett, a four (4) year old female child, whose date of birth is October 28, 2019, without the authority of law by any means or in any manner, done with or without design to effect death of Erin Nicole Brunett, while engaged in the commission of the crime of the kidnapping, specifically the kidnapping of Erin Nicole Brunett.... Victoria Cox being a female human being above the age eighteen (18) years, did, while acting alone and/or in concert with and/or aiding, assisting or encouraging Daniel Wayne Callihan and/or others known and unknown to the grand jury, on and about the 13th day of June, 2024, in the county aforesaid and within the jurisdiction of this Court, willfully, unlawfully, lloniously and without lawful authority forcibly seized, inveigled, kidnapped and/or confined J. B., a six (6) year old female child, whose date of birth is October 5, 2017, against her will and/or gainst the will of her parents, guardian(s) or persons having lawful custody of her, by forcibly confining her at or near 3980 Boozier Drive, Jackson, Mississippi aiding, assisting, or encouragind Daniel Wayne Callihan.... on and about the 13th day of June, 2024 in the county aforesaid and within the jurisdicion of this COurt, willfully, unlawfully, and feloniously engage in sexual penetration.... with J.B., a six year old female while.... by engaging in cunnilingus with six year old J.B...
Since the indictment names Callihan as a co-defendant in these crimes, it is a safe bet Callihan has probably been indicted but since he is being held in Louisiana, the capias has not yet been returned.
The Justice Department charged Callihan with kidnapping.

this is a capitol offense and the death penalty can be applicable, but remember the death penalty has been de facto outlawed and abolished in hinds county.
These people cannot be rehabilitated. They have no redeemable qualities. Their only benefit to society now is to be swiftly executed to serve as an example of the consequences of their heinous actions.
They were indicted in Louisiana last month. Death penalty is on the table there as well.
The death penalty is not enough-
Go easy on the trial. Send them to prison. The inmates will take care of the rest in a fashion suitable to their crimes
If he's all but fried in Louisiana whats the point of having a trial

Regardless of who ultimate makes them pay the ultimate penalty. I agree with the State of Mississippi for going after them both for capital murder. From my reading of the post, they killed a four year old and sexually molested her six-year-old sister in Hinds County, Mississippi. I applaud the state for doing the right thing. Regards of politics this can never be acceptable in the State of Mississippi.

Amen death penalty needs to be pushed for sentencing! No acceptable excuse! Prayers for the 6 year old that she will get the mental help she will need!

you want a death penalty prosecution , you better send the case to another county or another state.
My first reaction, to someone harming these two children, was from the standpoint of a father, and a grandfather. Anyone that could commit such evil is less than human. Death is too easy. They should be locked up, never to be free again.

would someone please explain to me why the hinds county district attorneys office has not pursued a death penalty in approximately 15 years?

5:26. No doubt they did this? Please, forget appeals for 20 years, immediate consequences for their actions! Public hanging or shooting squad! Cheap, simple and better than deserved.
