Attorney General investigators charged Dr. Mehul Dixit with two counts of sexual battery or fondling a vulnerable adult person while the Mississippi Board of Medical Licensure suspended his license for the alleged molestation.
Investigator Maegan Watson stated in an affidavit submitted to Hinds County Court Judge John McDaniels:
Judge McDaniels set his bond at $300,000 and to have no contact with the alleged victim. Attorney Cynthia Stewart represented Dr. Dixit.
Dr. Dixit practices pediatric nephrology. The Mississippi Board of Medical Licensure suspended his license on May 11.
A law enforcement officer notified the Board on April 28 of the investigation of Dr. Dixit. The alleged fondling took place during a physical examination of a child at UMMC on February 27, 2023. However, the order of suspension mentions three incidents of alleged misconduct:
* A victim submitted an informal complaint in 2018 to the Board. The Board took no action because the alleged misconduct took place in Florida. A Board investigator interviewed the victim on May 9, 2023. The victim never reported the incident to Florida authorities. The investigator stated:
Victim #1 explained, in detail, that in 2006, Licensee performed an exam related to her condition of nephrosis, secondary to kidney stones, and while performing the exam, had Victim #1 completely remove all clothing after asking Victim #1's mother to leave the exam room;
WHEREAS, after Victim #1 had removed all of her clothing, Licensee manipulated her breasts while informing her that he was performing a breast cancer screening and inserted his finger into her vagina;
The alleged victim was 17 years-old when the alleged misconduct took place.
* Another alleged incident of fondling took place in 2013. The investigator stated:
on May 10, 2023, Affiant conducted an interview of Victim #2. Victim #2 was thirteen (13) years-old at the time of the 2013 incident of physician sexual misconduct by Licensee. Victim #2 explained that during a 2013 examination related to kidney stones, Licensee, with a nurse and her mother present, fondled her breasts and touched her vagina with an ungloved hand. Victim #2 explained that, from the nurse and her mother's vantage point, it was not possible for either to see what Licensee was doing or touching with his hands. On September 27, 2013, Victim #2 had reported to UMMC that Licensee had touched her breasts and vagina;
* The alleged victim in the criminal complaint told investigators on May 3, 2023 that she saw Dr. Dixit when she was 17 years old for microalbuminuria. Dr. Dixit allegedly rubbed his bare hands against victim's vagina and clitoris.
An expert practitioner of nephrology told investigators a nephorologist should not examine a patient's vagina nor perform a breast cancer screening during a kidney stone examination.
No hearing was held prior to the suspension. A hearing will be held on May 18.

Belch!!!!
Obviously, he has seen going this for YEARS
Cut his Dixit off.
Pour curry on his Dixit.
Well, I think UMMC is just as culpable. They let a complaint slide for 10 years. God be with these victims.
would really, really like to know what UMC did when the victim reported him in 2013. Every single parent and patient he has seen since then deserves an explanation from UMC.
