Fitch Joins Investigation of Big Banks

Attorney General Lynn Fitch issued the following statement.

Attorney General Lynn Fitch announced today that she and 18 other Attorneys General have served six major American banks with civil investigative demands, which act as a subpoena, asking for documents relating to the companies’ involvement with the United Nations’ (UN) Net-Zero Banking Alliance (NZBA). The banks include Bank of America, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, and Wells Fargo. NZBA-member banks must set emissions reduction targets in their lending and investment portfolios to reach net zero by 2050.

“The Net-Zero Banking Alliance’s political agenda does not align with American economic interests,” said Attorney General Lynn Fitch. “These banks need to understand that they are accountable to American laws and investors, not UN bureaucrats and UN standards.”

Some of the interrogatories within the civil investigative demands include:

  • Describe Your involvement in each Global Climate Initiative in which You participate, including the date You first began participating, any promises, pledges, or other commitments You made to the Global Climate Initiative, or any actions You made or took pursuant to, or consistent with, such commitments, or Your initial or on-going participation, and the employee(s) responsible for managing Your relationship with each Global Climate Initiative.
  • Identify the objectives and mission of the Net-Zero Banking Alliance and describe how You incorporated these objectives into Your operations.
  • Describe the extent to which You have incorporated the Principles for Responsible Banking into Your operations, including but not limited to the extent to which You consulted with other Net-Zero Banking Alliance signatories as part of the incorporation process.
  • Describe the extent to which You, as a signatory to the Net-Zero Banking Alliance, have acted consistent with Your commitment to “facilitat[e] the necessary transition in the real economy through prioritizing client engagement and offering products and services to support clients’ transition.”
  • Describe the extent to which You, as a signatory to the Net-Zero Banking Alliance, have acted consistent with Your commitment to “engag[e] on corporate and industry (financial and real economy) action, as well as public policies, to help support a net-zero transition of economic sectors in line with science and giving consideration to associated social impacts.”

In addition to Mississippi, Arizona, Arkansas, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Montana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia have joined the Missouri-led investigation into the six banks.

More information will be made available as the investigation continues.

Wonderful. Basically a class action suit. How about investigating the misappropriation of TANF funds here in Mississppi, Ms. Attorney General?

Get the UN out of the U.S. They have turned woke socialists and are very corrupt, not to mention the spying and industrial espionage their "diplomats" are doing.

What does all this mean in layman's terms? What are they protecting us from?

We are doomed said...

Wow, no left coast nor east coast states are participating. What a shock.

But Lynn, "the supernational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to [that of nation states]" See David Rockefeller, Memoirs, p. 405.

I do hope she keeps us posted, and I look forward to swift justice.

Just like Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, Peter Strzok, Lois Lerner, Prince Andrew, Chris Cuomo and Andrew Cuomo, no one is above the law!

Crock of shit.

Nothing will come of this.
It's just typical partisan politics.
Politicians will NEVER penalize large financial institutions without some kind of predetermined arrangement or re-imbursement plan with those institutions.

Dog and pony show as always. Mississippi politicians are absolutely worthless to the true needs and concerns of their states

GO General Fitch! said...

I'm so proud of our Attorney General for staying on top of critical legal issues and knowing when to act. Not just anybody could have rounded up these like-minded AGs.

Fitch signs on to lawsuits sponsored by Republicans. She suffers from FOMO.

"How about investigating the misappropriation of TANF funds here in Mississppi, Ms. Attorney General? "

I wasn't aware any of these six banks handles TANF funds for Mississippi.

The legal genius who thought she had standing to object to the way that Geogia counts its presidential votes is at it again. I'm sure this will be every bit as successful as her lawsuit against China. If you have any spare time, maybe you could do something about long it takes your agency to file a brief in a criminal appeal.

Lynn is such a waste of office space. I feel so stupid voting for her. Lynn personally hasn’t done a damn thing since being in office but take pictures and throw the word Left around in her poor speaking points.

How’s that suit against China coming along?

Anonymous said...

@1:56 - I’d rather someone competent handle that case. Someone with zero ties to this crooked state government.

She is good with using tax dollars to redecorate her offices in every agency where she's landed over the years.

Anonymous said...

Wait. I thought Republicans were against government telling private businesses what to do. Besides, Fitch does not have the slightest clue what the lawsuit is about. She just signed where they told her.

King - we need an update on his lawsuit against China. When can we expect our money?

Go get 'em, girl!

“These banks need to understand that they are accountable to American laws..." But that explains what's really going on here.

Banking is one of the most heavily regulated industries in America. The problem is the Biden Administration is using that regulatory power (through the FDIC and OCC (Office of the Comptroller of the Currency) plus FINRA (the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority which regulates stock markets and indirectly publicly traded companies) to pressure banks to engage in activities and support causes Congress would never require them to do. These causes include not only support for extreme climate change activism (which is often just donations to climate groups that are really Democrat activist groups) but also implementing very aggressive racial/gender/sexual preference affirmative action policies.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
