Update (10:45 PM): Got the scoop on what took place. A Madison police press release should be forthcoming.
A woman in the Target parking lot reported to police she witnessed a carjacking. The suspect was in a stolen black Charger. JPD did not chase the suspects into Madison. Three individuals were in the charger. Madison police picked up the pursuit. The suspects exited at Nissan Parkway and crashed. An accomplice picked up the suspects in a stolen black Mercedes SUV and fled back to Jackson.
Madison and later Ridgeland police chased the suspects back to Jackson. The Mercedes SUV crashed at White Oak and North State Street. The suspects were arrested. Guns were retrieves from the Mercedes and the Charger. One suspect was a convicted felon while another wore an ankle bracelet.
Original post: A carjacking took place at Target a little while ago.
JPD chased the carjacker into Madison. The carjacker wrecked on Old Jackson Road but a suspected accomplice picked him up and fled back to Jackson with Madison police in hot pursuit. Other agencies joined in the chase. The suspects wrecked at White Oak and North State Street. Three more suspects were arrested. JPD and Madison PD will charge the suspects.

At a Target in broad daylight on a Saturday? Jesus.
Thankfully they were caught.
Play stupid games win stupid prizes.
Who else thinks Target will relocate to Madison county in 3…2…1….
You are probably right, 8:30. A few years ago Target said it would open north of 463 at Grandview. The area is still undeveloped, so it still could happen...
@8:30,
Several years ago Target was set to build in Madison, plans approved and everything ready but the financial condition at the time made them pull out. Seems they stopped building nationwide.
I wonder who will have them in court first? Jackson or Madison Pd...If Jackson gets them first they'll get blessed and released and Madison wont see them again.
Supertarget would be nice.
Can tell Target isn't spending any more money on the Jackson store. Bare minimum of cashiers, won't spend any money to remodel and provide self checkouts
I quit shopping in Jackson once they added the 1% additional sales tax

I'm at a loss trying to picture where there's undeveloped property at 463/Grandview, unless you're talking about the swamp (north of Burger King) where a prior Board shafted the county and rewarded a few property owners.
Madison leaders would be fools to recruit Target. It's a ghetto store that attracts the worst of Canton and Jackson.
I heard they were thwarted when Mary said they couldn’t have that tacky bullseye thing on their sign.
NEJ resident here. Thank god for Madison PD. JPD is clueless and handcuffed in there efforts
Jackson can have their trial after they serve their full sentences in Madison.
Target tried to come to Madison 3 times. All 3 times it was on property owned by Dr. Sethi at the northeast corner of the interchange (north of 463, between I-55 and Parkway East). All 3 times it would be Sethi selling the property to an out-of-state retail developer who would build the complex and Target would be the anchor store.
FIRST - group from Dallas. Jerry Jones of the Cowboys was one of the investors. They had a good plan but Mayor Mary didn’t want the Target logo to be red. She wanted it to be silver. Target was willing to acquiesce on logo size and location, but refused to budge on color. The deal fell apart.
SECOND - several years later a group from Tennessee (Nashville maybe). They didn’t get along with the Mayor at all. They tried to cut too many corners.
THIRD - several years after group #2, the first group tried again. Target was the anchor. The center would include TGI Fridays, Hobby Lobby, Academy Sports, and others. The Mayor allowed the red Target logo. The group had a good plan and the Mayor was on board. The developer and Madison were all in agreement. The problem this time is that the developer and Dr. Sethi couldn’t agree on the land price. They were fairly far apart on purchase price. So that killed the deal. They wanted to buy, and Sethi wanted to sell, but they couldn’t agree on price.
They do this in Madison because they know that it’s a sanctuary city. #SaveMadison
I see that Jackson held another youth anti crime summit Saturday at a west Jackson park. Youth were there to share ideas on what can be done to reduce crime. I wish Jackson leadership cared as much about crime as they do with skin color. It blows my mind
You don’t see this obsession in other places around the city of Jackson only in Jackson. I’m sick of it.
Friends don't let friends shop on the south side of County Line Road.
People, I have told you many times not to chase our citizens back to our city. How do you expect Jackson to survive if you destroy the only business ventures which are a success in Jackson?
Jackson is a world of halves and have nots. Rich or poor. Country club river hills with kids at private schools and beach condo or Oxford condo or dirt poor. I can tell you many physicians that live in Jackson and successful business owners and the NE Jackson mistletoe toe crowd but that’s not enough to help Jackson. Crime and lack of leadership is
June 5, 2022 at 9:00 AM - I'm sorry you didn't get shit for votes when you ran against Mary, but.....that's politics. Or, if I'm wrong, then you're Gerald Steen with a constant hard-on for everybody.
@9:00 am It's my understanding Dr. Sethi ownes road & land between Old Canton & Northpark Drive, (down from Fat Tuesday) is located.
The City of Ridgeland said they'd buy it however Dr. Sethi wants to much. Suffice it to say that land has turned into eyesore property.
Once again our once dine city slowly withers away on the vine….right behind will be a convoy of garbage trucks heading south and Jackson will be along the lines of a third world country.
So a carjacker heads north ruining that would be easy getaway?
Then when bails the idiots head back to Hinds County?
What were they smoking, popping or both?
Are there any cars in Jackson that are not stolen?
And why is a stolen Mercedes-Benz running around? MBUSA can track those cars down to an inch.
Im sorry but dont buy the red logo bs re: madison mayor
Second, the summit had how many people? Three dozen? And it was the what? The latest of a weekly occurrence?
Got to Jackson Target;become a target.
City leaders might want to hold their next "night out", or crime summit in the parking lot of Target on County Line.
Get out there where the "rubber meets the road."
