Mississippi Ag Commish Andrew Gipson issued the following statement.
The
Mississippi Egg Marketing
Board is hosting its annual Easter at the Ag Museum event in Small Town
at the Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Museum on Saturday, April
16, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
“I
am looking forward to seeing hundreds of families head out to the Ag
Museum to celebrate at our annual Easter event,”
said Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce Andy Gipson. “I invite
everyone from across the state to come enjoy a wonderful day.”
Experience
the family fun as children ages 0-17 follow the tracks through the
museum’s “Bunny Trail” to collect candy and toy filled eggs in their
baskets. Families will have the opportunity to dye and paint eggs; take
a wagon, train or carousel ride; have their faces painted; visit with
Mississippi Miss Hospitality Jane Granberry; and get their picture with
the Easter Bunny throughout the day. The Mississippi
Beef Council will serve complimentary hotdogs to visitors. Additional
sponsors include Cal-Maine Foods. Admission is $8 per person for ages 3
and up and includes carousel rides and train rides.
For
your family Easter Celebration, enjoy the “Tasty Side of Agriculture”
with smoked meats and holiday treats, including smoked hams and a
variety of casseroles
from the General Store. Those items, as well as pulled pork sandwiches
and snacks, will be available for purchase the day of the event, and
holiday meals can be pre-ordered for pick up.

As a traditional European pagan, I always love me a good spring agricultural fertility festival! Even if it is thinly veiled!
The brand new "How a State Licensed Grain Warehouse Works" exhibit should draw a crowd!
Nothing is more exciting for a child than an agriculture museum. What a treat.
Most Christians believe Easter Eggs are from a Pagan tradition.
But this is the true meaning of the Easter Egg Hunt.
What does the Easter egg hunt represent?
The egg hunt became an Easter tradition in 16th-century Germany. Martin Luther held egg hunts at the church for his congregation, where the women and children would look for eggs that the men hid around the property. This practice is symbolic of the women who discovered that the tomb was empty after the resurrection.
Happy Easter or
Happy Resurrection Day
I wonder if Cal-Maine will be giving away eggs this year like they usually do. They've gone up a couple of cents a dozen since last year. I always thought most of those eggs went to waste anyway.
WE all should be celebrating Easter on our knees in prayer. Instead of chasing eggs around with The Hat.
Remember taking the kids to this when they were young. Had good times and folks seemed to enjoy everyones fellowship.
8$ , How much does Cowboy Andy take home ? those big hats aint free ...
Is All Hat Gipson's Eggtravaganza partially sponsored by Express Grain?
10:43 : Whatever is in the money egg. You know he will peek.
Knew it wouldn't be long before the Gipson attacks trolls arrived to perform their tired act.
It's interesting that several of You have to gripe about the Commissioners Hat, that several have to express comments about Express Grain.. why can't you simply bring your Children to an Easter egg hunt & let them enjoy it as Children should?
@7:29 - what else is notable about Andy other than his ridiculous hat?
