Two Jackson Academy students were carjacked last Thursday in the parking lot of Covenant Presbyterian Church on Ridgewood Road. The two teens were not harmed. A vehicle pulled up and several hoodlums jumped out with guns pointed at the victims. JJ has not been able to obtain a description of the suspects.
Residents in the Eastover/Meadowbrook area also might want to keep an eye out for a navy blue truck or white Ford Explorer. Several teenagers rode through the area shooting bb's at walkers and their pets recently. Four people reported being struck by the bb's on social media. It might be related to the "Orbeez Challenge" on where else but Tik-Tok. More information on the Orbeez Challenge. The kids might think it the challenge is "fun" but what is going to happen is someone is not going to take the time to figure out what happened but instead fire back at them with a real gun. Then mommy and daddy will be shrieking on tv how their son was a good kid, blah, blah, blah.

You will get the same treatment as the guys who murdered that jogger. Yeah he had a hammer. Yeah cameras recorded him trespassing on construction sites. But his actions didn’t justify deadly force.
If you have a kid that you care about, I highly recommend some harsh truth asap before they learn about return-fire from lethal weapons the hard way.

A few years ago BB guns were the way a lot of mischievous kids got into trouble. Their parents would give them a good spanking or some other punishment and that would be it. In much of Jackson today there are kids who never start with BB guns. They start with guns and they think having fun is carjacking and joy riding. They have no functioning parents and have no fear of juvenile detention. And yes, they will kill you.
I don't keep up with TikTok fads, so what would happen to me if I defended myself with deadly force, having no idea what an Orbeez is? In Hinds County, I think I know.

There is, if the Republicans are lucky, one person on the Mayoral primary ticket while there are sometimes 8 -12 on the Democratic prmary ticket. Most of them are losers and nutjobs but if you want to vote for Mayor, you're forced to vote in the Democratic primary because the winner automatically wins the general election. There will NEVER be another Republican Mayor in Jackson until the black citizens in this town realize they are being played by the Dems. Good luck with that happening. Most of NE Jackson does participate in Elections, the numbers are just against them.

12:47 - too bad Jackson doesn't have the same election laws as Memphis. In Memphis elections there is no run-off between the 2 top candidates. The candidate with the plurality of votes wins. If there are 6 black candidates and 1 white candidate then the black vote is split 6 ways and the white candidate wins with a plurality. That's why Memphis has a white mayor.

demographics is why jackson won't have a republican/conservative mayor ever again. approximately 85% black that overwhelmingly votes democrat. then approximately 15% white, and at least a third of them vote democrat. that leaves, at most, 15% of the jackson population voting republican/conservative; 10% white and 5% black. my numbers aren't exact, but close enough for argument's sake. and a black democrat is gonna beat a white democrat every time. and a white republican doesn't stand a chance.
chowkey was elected with less than 14000 votes. that shows you right there, that there aren't more then 14000 republican/conservative voters left in jackson. so, good luck getting any kind of conservative, productive leadership.
every election, the candidates get more and more extreme. jackson is obviously not surviving and will not survive the continuous succession of democrat mayors. jackson's decline is due to incompetence, indifference, and intentionally destructive policies.

To all the folks up north in Madison acting so high and mighty, on this same day, 8 cars were broken in to in Highland Colony parking lot. The media just doesn’t cover that.
Could the Eastover area become its own city or become part of Flowood? If it was part of Rankin county then crime would likely go down because the perps would know that a serious sentence would be given. The Rankin judges do not play around.
If you extend the new city/Rankin county concept from Eastover north to Jackson Academy it might be the one thing that saves JA in the long run.

Minorities in this country attempt to use the fact of their minority as a guilt shield, as well as a privilege sword. But all one has to do is look at the "statistics" to see that the overwhelming "majority" of the crime throughout this country is committed by "minorities". And as far as statistics go, the black population in the U.S. is approximately 12.5% black, which is a minority. However in Jackson, it's approximately 85% black, which is the "majority" locally. So, why wouldn't an intelligent person expect at least 85% of the crime (including carjacking) in Jackson to be committed by blacks, the majority race in Jackson. So KF's reporting is not an attack on a minority population in Jackson. It would be an anomaly if the 15% "white minority" in Jackson accounted for the "majority" (more than 50%) of the crime in Jackson. Those are the facts!

The vandalism and BB shooting historically in the Eastover area has been white as snow.
And, having lived in all white neighborhoods as well as one now with minority neigbhors, it is my experience that good manners,thoughtfulness of one's fellow neighbors is if the neighber is sane, educated( self or formally) the odds are far higher that they will be a good neighbor. It's been those who shared my pale skin who have been the worst neighbors because they believed in their own superiority over all creatures including human ones.
Cars broken into is a far ways from armed carjacking. A car is replaced, a death, rape, severe injury etc. is not.

Answer: I know these kids. They're good kids who live nearby. It was a high school boy and a high school girl kissing in an empty parking lot close to home before he had to bring her home.
The perpetrators saw easy targets. And, yes, that makes them thugs - regardless of race, color, creed, or religion.

“Why cain’t we all jus’ git along?” Kids bein kids but it’s different now! We didn’t have thugs running around with guns to carjack and shoot you because their home life was crappy. I knew kids who came from bad homes but they did make something of themselves. They were a different culture and not urbanites like today’s problem so they learned real quick they needed to get their lives on the right track. When I sent my kids to Private school we found out that there were more drugs in school that involved the kids who came from families that were well to do than the average mean income family who just wanted their kids to get away from the public school system. Remember, it’s how you rear them, not how much money and influence you have that make them who they are.
