The city of Jackson issued the following statement.
Some areas of south Jackson continue to experience low to no water pressure as City work crews continue to address system issues.
Water leaks on Raymond Road and Deer Park Street and lingering issues with the membrane train system at the O.B. Curtis Water Plant have delayed the full restoration of water. High elevation areas of south Jackson have been most affected, including on Forest Hill Road and at the Hinds County youth detention center. These areas are experiencing low to no water pressure as repairs continue to be made.
“Our previous water system issues have not been fully resolved due in part to additional water leaks in the past two days,” said City Engineer Dr. Charles Williams.
Williams said he expects significant progress to be made throughout the day Sunday and into Monday morning.
“We hope to make significant progress today and will keep residents informed moving forward.”

Lingering issues? They never stop spinning.
I'll organize a balloon release to lift up peoples' hopes for quick fixes.
There are reports on Nextdoor of no water and low water pressure in NE Jackistan.
Its time for the state to take over this system.
Legislature, you are in session. Do your job. It is obvious that the city is not competent to manage this vital utility (along with its sister utility, the sewer system).
Average City of Jackson resident:
For the last 20 years I have made sure to vote for the candidate who doesn't care to fix the streets, won't fix the water and sewer, and doesn't care about crime. Now I want to know why the streets are bad, the water and sewer doesn't work, and crime is out of control. Why is the city like that? Why won't someone help us?
@1:38 PM - I agree, but it won't happen. Why? Because the majority (not everyone) in the legislature is focused on their quid prop quo pseudo medical marijuana legi$lation.

If you chose to remain in Jackson you should not be complaining about the city and how bad it is. The people in Jackson would rather live in a slum that elect someone who cares about the city. The people in Jackson had plenty of warnings. Those left in Jackson must enjoy no drinking water and sewer water collecting in the pot holed streets. They have had many chances to do something about it but have done nothing but make it worse.
I have zero empathy for anyone that chooses to live in Jackson. They deserve what they get.
Mayor of Jackson is lazy and incompetent period. The legislature will do nothing and I mean nothing to help Jackson because Jackson is lost. Sad, but I watched the clip on garbage pickup and realized when he got up and left to go to DC for aMayors meeting instead of fighting for his crooked pickup that he knows nothing about business or how to manage a city.
They voted for Lumumba. They deserve the consequences.
February, historically the coldest month of the year and when ice storms are most likely, starts in a week. Good luck to those of you who for some reason choose to stay in Jackson.
They need to drag Bob Miller's worthless butt back here to explain why he didn't fix this stuff when he was here.
Elect an honest and competent mayor and all of these problems will eventually be water under the bridge.
Racists are so callous.
Jackson is a reflection of the state. Sorry, all you Jackson haters. Not only does it show the poor choices of the largely Democratic voting base, but also the apathy of the largely Republican state.
That about sums up the state--if you are middle class or wealthier, its wonderful. Earn less than that? Welcome to Honduras.
Democrats in Jackson can't be successful without Mississippi Republicans?
Y'all need to make up your minds.
7:56.......amen to that ...If you and spouse make less than 100 gransd a year and have bills......you might as well be in Honduras.
@7:56 AM - Honduras? No way; Jackistan is Somalia of the South.
I hate to say it but south jackson always gets the shaft. The roads are neglected abandoned buildings and no water. I will never understand how the mayor can just ignore the plight of the citizens. He literally could care less about them. It's almost like he wants third world conditions.
Keep electing morons and demonizing others for your self created problems 7:56am.
Democrats are incapable of learning.
Close the zoo-
@7:56 The state has nothing to do with the water system in Jackson. The water and sewer systems are owned and operated by the City. The City sets the rates, gets the revenue, and operates the system. Both the problem and the solution are 100% the responsibility of the city, its leaders, and its citizens. The state should not be involved at all.
They don't care how fucked up it is as long as they are in charge.
I chose to live in Jackson. Why is none of your business.
@9:19 has it figured out. Sadly that is a true statement. That statement sums up everything (water, sewer, road, crime, schools, etc.).
Bennie Thompson appeared on the local "news" saying he hopes the state legislature will appropriate part of the $1.8 billion Mississippi will receive from the federal infrastructure bill to Jackson's water/sewer problem. If not, he will seek money from "other sources."
My question is, if such other sources exist, why has he not already done that?
7:56 I laugh every time one of you "Jackson" liberal whinners comes up with the statement "Jackson Haters". What's the matter, you can't stand to hear the truth? The political party you bow down to has been in power for 30 yrs. Why isn't Jackson a shinning example on what Dim-O-Krats can accomplish in that short time. Kind of hard to ignore the facts when they kick you in the ass every time the news comes on.
Highest Murder rate in the country.
Water issues EVERY fuk'n day/week.
Had over 10 yrs to fix water treatment plant, still a no go.
Too bad you're just too stupid to know you been sold lie after lie by the Clown Mayor and his Looney Tunes administration. Maybe when the stench hits your little bastion of safe places in Fondren, you'll blink and wake up.
Sure is funny that only the blue utopias in the state has the every day typical Dim-O-Krat blues!
Bennie T wants to steal that gambling profit folks. Guaranteed !
