A homicide took place on Wood Street today. JPD has not released any information but the Street Committee says the deceased* is a well-known Wood Street player.
* The deceased will not be called a victim. This post explains why.

About time you got back to the bodies. This is what everyone wants to see—an increasing murder rate. BTW, I heard Wood Street was dangerous. Is that true?
There’s nothing like the homicide of a career criminal. It makes for good clickbait, doesn’t it? Then, once you add the location of the crime scene—a well-known Jackson crime area—it leaves you feeling like justice has prevailed. Doesn’t it?
Well, doesn’t it?
The world is a safer place if Vidal Sullivan is gone.
Jealousy, is a hard master. If you had the desire you could start your very own blog and talk about anything, and I do mean anything, under the sun. Yet, here you are jealous of another man and his work. Making snide remarks that make you look petty. Then again, it may not be the appearance of petty, you may actually be petty. Being small in your own eyes, you look to belittle others to level the field. It must suck to be you.
What was he worth? I am seriously trying to see if these criminals make or keep any money?
Outstanding! I tire of reading about boo boo, potholes, water meters, the boy king Chowke, and the airport commission. Bring back the tried and true homicide! Yes, indeed.
Frank Melton and Victor Mason both are dead and gone, they both tried hard to get Vidale Sullivan off the streets of Jackson. Now he's off the are not here to see this. He alleged killed several people in Jackson.
What number is this? #58? Wish you’d add the murder count in the title.
If Kenny wood have renamed Wood Street, this wood not be happening. See what I did there?
7:56 YES. 9:23 get back to us when you have a point.
I think this makes 55 homicides so far this year.

Let me know if somebody figures out how to take it with you when you go. Otherwise - next story, please.......
The Hinds County Judges release these fools so they can kill each other.
You call it Catch and Release!!!
"Wood Street players."
That brings back memories of Melton and Ladd traveling around in one Frank's homemade JPD armored mini vans.
Frank was in his new Mayoral SWAT team kevlar jumpsuit, and Donner Kay was (trying to look like a serious journalist).
Gawd ... those were some funny WLBT news segments.
How Howard Ballou managed to report that nonsense (while keeping a straight face) is beyond me. That proved he's one of the best journalists in Jackson, MS television history.
Donna Ladd is one of the best journalist to ever step foot in the State of Mississippi.
Actually that was some damn good journalism Ladd practiced when reporting on Melton. The local media worshipped him for a long time. She's the one who got me to change my tune on him as the rest of the media fell down on the job.

By today’s standards of bias, obfuscation, sensationalism and outright lying, yes, she fits right in.

Do you have anything to add to the homicide discussion? The bodies, man. All we care about are the bodies.
Wood Street has risen to the top. What's the name of that street, (something) Lane, that used to be in the homicide news at least twice a week?
Wood and Tang lead to 89.8% of all homicides in America.
A murder, shooting, stabbing or other violent crime in JAX will never spark my interest until the people of JAX are willing to talk to the news and give the truth about that person's lifestyle. Harsh, I know, but I day to day skip over those headlines because there are too many and no one in JAX seems to really care about changing it. I read the news, hope for all students there in the day to day struggle to live there and thank the lort I don't have to. Too many parents are not serving or parenting their children, and I do have feel sorry for those that are trying. I will not give my time to parents who have taken a backseat to parenting, expecting the schools to deal with your little shit, who cannot follow rules, policies or laws. I have my own children to attend to and you should be doing the same. I am so tired of seeing young life dead from drugs, shootings etc. YOU PARENTS KNOW WHERE YOUR CHILD IS AND ON WHAT HOUSE OR STREET CORNER THEY ARE ON. If your "baby" is out there bang ganging, then you know damn well it is your fault! NOT THE FAULT OF THE POLICE, SCHOOOL OR COMMUNITY. OWN UP PARENTS AND GET YOUR CHILDREN OFF THE STREETS.
The Street Committee Reported?? Damn I didn’t know that Jackson had Street Committee’s. They must be sleeping on the job to let a murder happen. Or maybe they helped plan it if the guy was a thug. I’m thinking if every street has a committee crime should be non existent. Unless of course if the committee is ran by thugs. Which is probably the case in Jackson.
@2:38PM
Street Committee means word on the street. People talking. Telling either what happened or what they heard. Blah, blah, blah.

Good point !
But since then, her other "ground breaking articles" never gained much traction.
However, I'll give her partner Stauffer credit.
That dude is very good at defending her in the comment section of her columns.
