Rankin-Madison District Attorney John Bramlett issued the following statement.
Madison and Rankin Counties’ District Attorney John K. Bramlett, Jr., announced that on February 22, 2021, Judge Steve Ratcliff sentenced Keith Lamar Reeder, 47, to concurrent life sentences on two separate sexual battery charges. He must also register as a sex offender and have no contact with the victims.
On May 16, 2020, Pearl Police Department received an emergency call from an individual seeking assistance because a man was in her home holding her and two children against their will. When Pearl Police officers arrived on the scene, they located Reeder hiding in the attic. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Reeder used a knife and forced his way into the home. He robbed and assaulted one of the occupants and physically and sexually assaulted the juveniles in the home. All three victims were taken for medical treatment at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Upon their release, the juveniles were interviewed by the Mississippi Children’s Advocacy Center. Reeder made a partial confession to the Pearl Police Department during his interview.
Reeder faced charges of burglary, kidnapping, child abuse, aggravated assault, armed robbery, statutory rape, gratification of lust and sexual battery as a result of his heinous actions inside the home in Pearl on May 16, 2020. He was indicted as a habitual offender, meaning he had two or more prior felony convictions. Rather than proceeding to trial on all charges, Reeder pled guilty to two counts of sexual battery. He will serve two life sentences concurrently without the possibility of parole.
District Attorney Bramlett stated, “I am thankful for the prompt response and hard work of the Pearl Police Department, the Mississippi Children’s Advocacy Center, the Mississippi Crime Lab and the Safe Center at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Because of their efforts on this case, we were able to avoid having a trial where these victims would have to relive this terrible trauma on the witness stand. Keith Reeder will spend the rest of his life in prison for his actions, which is where he belongs.”

$2.00 bullet solves this problem.
"He must also register as a sex offender and have no contact with the victims." Was this actually part of his sentence or just written from muscle memory.
He won't last long in the pokey. Hell is not hot enough for folks like him.
He'll be out in ten years.
Nope, 3:04. He'll be in a casket in four.
Why did he plea? Public defenders gotta do better.
just put him on the yard and tell the other inmates why he’s in jail, and turn away. (and cameras off) why should we pay taxes to feed this animal three meals a day?
Why did he plea... I don’t know, but I’m thinking probably because he didn’t stand a chance?? Did you see how many charges he was facing, along with the fact that he was caught in the act?
In response to 5:37, he had no incentive to plea. He received life without parole, period. That means exactly what it sounds like. Also the max sentence for what he is charged with. A good PD makes them prove it at trial. If they make an error, have to do it all over again.
Perty face for Parchman.
Ok, ok I’m no lawyer and this guy truly deserves what is about to happen to him. What I don’t understand is if your serving two life sentences without the possibility of parole then why would you have to register as a sexual predator. Like would they put the sign outside the prison gate or something? And being ordered not to have contact with the victims? I’m thinking the victims are the last people on earth this jackass would want to ever talk to. In any case he’s getting ready to be a victim himself, for two lifetimes. But then again he could cut the sentence in half with good behavior.
So we get to pay $50,000 a year to house, feed, and provide medical and legal services for this guy for the next 40 years.
2:14 is right. One $2.00 bullet would save a lot of grief and cost.
This is appropriate sentence for the crime. But I dont understand why you plea to a life sentence, when that's the most you could have gotten anyway.
Unless he didn't want to sit through a trial and watch the movie about himself...
