That was the real Democratic Party! Nothing to offer!

Jeffrey Epstein didn't kill himself said...

In all seriousness, what are the democrats really offering? Even with a lopsided and unfair hearing process, they have failed to make a compelling or even circumstantial case for impeachment, all the while refusing to work on important trade issues like USMCA (which Canada has lobbied for and Mexico has ratified). The economic plans they propose assume current conditions, which will quickly reverse if such plans are implemented. On style - Trump could do A LOT better, but on substance, he's delivering. Imagine how much better off we'd be if the democrats actually worked with the President to advance issues important to the American people, instead of constantly looking for ways to attack him.

So, seriously, what do democrats have to offer?

There is hardly any theory under which the Democrats can beat Trump in 2020. The far left is offering pie in the sky and the moderates are either too damn old, gay, or lacking in charisma. The Dems could still take the popular vote, but not the electoral vote. They aren't many urban areas in the South and mid-west and they've been nicely diluted with gerrymandering.

That said, @7:49 am apparently doesn't understand how government works and didn't watch testimony, just FOX's selective clips. And, probably doesn't watch " news" on FOX, just the opinion shows.

And, for certain,@7:49am has not gone to senate.gov and read the Burr/Warner Intelligence Committee report on Foreign Interference in our elections. It's the loyal to Trump GOP control Senate and a bi-partisan report.

Nor does 7:49 am understand the timeline and who in the Ukraine were Russian puppets and crooks, and who were their opposition and when. Your boys have all been buddying up to and been manipulated by Putin's boys. It's the good guys in Ukraine your boys were trying to screw. And, you seem not to known that Russia had already invaded the Crimea and Ukrainian territory. Even if some interference had come geographically from Ukraine, they were from Russian agents operating there.

President Trump is good at the bully pulpit, but he has no coherent, consistent point of view or strategy on anything except self-promotion and a wall. The Senate were the authors of tax reform ( which was mostly a tax cut for the wealthy) and budgets. His appointees are coming up with the rest and are often sabotaged. Trump is for or against a policy within the same few days, depending on how the wind blows.

Trump had the rare opportunity to unite us and opted instead for profit and self-aggrandizement.

And, for reasons, known only to President Trump, despite all the confirmed evidence, he and his cohorts ( many of whom are in prison...please read their crimes) could not be more supportive of Putin if they were paid Russian agents or spies. It's looking like the Italian mob's demise in NY gave rise to the Russian mob which were always worse as they lack even a strange internal honor code.

I predict that in the next 8 years , we will be well on the way to a one party government and like Putin ( who remember was genuinely elected in the beginning and who had a pretend successor), we will be like Russian...a democracy in name only with rigged elections and a titular head, not the actual strong man.

There are more than a few people who think that's a good idea as they believe we can't compete economically or politically against strong man governments. Sadly, the price of predictability and " security" is individual liberty and rewards will be oligarchs who determine our financial status, re-education camps, citizen merit evaluations and disappearances. We are almost there on the oligarchs with accompanying monopolies.

@7:49
The Democrats offer compassion and a soul. They offer hope for millions of undocumented citizens. They offer healthcare and education to everyone equally, regardless of income. And most of all they offer an administration free of treason and nepotism that the Republicans and the Putin's Sock Puppet can't offer.

So they offer words and open borders. I suppose people can eat that when they’re hungry.

The candidates of both parties are a joke. What isn't a joke is the condition of America when people cannot recognize that fact. We might as well have an auction or a pageant to decide the presidency. We can't do any worse than the posturing egotists and clowns the Repubs and Democrats have selected for us. Maybe some out of work actor, bored billionaire, or retired wrestler will decide President of the U.S. will look good on his/her/it's resume.

Agree with 9:16, but I will add I think we are further down the drain. 8:53 wishes to throw open the doors and not worry about who or what comes through. Bet he locks his home and car doors and wouldn't give a dime to an outstretched hand. So I guess he saying "Do as I say, not what I do"?

They are not "undocumented citizens". They are NOT citizens. They are illegal immigrants. If you want to have a discussion regarding our broken immigration system fine, but don't engage in double speak.

Please tell me that 8:40 and 8:53 are parodies.
I voted against Trump. I placed him as the second least preferable out of the gang that ran for the Republican nomination. But Trump's economic and tax policy have been a real help to the US economy and have created many jobs. A few months ago I went to a work related economic forum and economists there, while admitting they opposed Trump, conceded the Trump has been the best US president in decades for the US economy.

More jobs mean more disposable income and more health insurance coverage, more retirement benefits, and more hope for the poor and middle classes.

The poor and middle classes need real help far more than pious platitudes. Give me a bombastic guy who takes real action over a well mannered do nothing (or do poorly).

8:53, when I took Econ 101, I didn't see compassion as an economic model, please tell me how compassion will support the hoards of illegals who will crash our border when all of these utopian policies are implemented.

Also, for your reference, undocumented = lack of required documents to be legally present in the United States, which means the person is illegally present, which is a crime. So, by your standard, if I like your house, I can just come and live in it without consequence. My guess is that you'd call the police and report me as a trespasser, the officer would check my ID to confirm my address and I'd be subsequently arrested and removed. At this point you might build a fence or install an alarm to deter me from entering again, but I'd come back because I really like your house. I'd be arrested again, jump bail and blend into the community, meet a nice girl and make a baby or two; then I'd demand that you pay for all of my expenses because I'm "poor." And while you're at it, add me to your insurance coverage because I might want you to pay for a gender re-assignment surgery, buy me food and pay for my kids' college.

Also, please let me know which federal laws I can disregard with impunity and I'll come to your side. If you wind up taxing the "rich" and ostensibly punish success, drive and innovation, we'll wind up just like Venezuela. No thanks.

@9:48
Hyperbole much? I never said such a thing. You are nothing more than an ignorant xenophobe.
But I'm sure you think it was okay that the doors were thrown open for your white european ancestors.

Jeffrey Epstein didn't kill himself said...

@8:40, talk of impeaching the President began before he even won the nomination, as soon as he announced his candidacy, there was talk of impeachment; then, the democrats went hunting for any fact pattern that might approach an impeachable offense. Hearsay, third-hand reports and feelings are not facts, and Schiff wrote hearing rules that deny due process and parity to the minority (I thought dems liked minorities...) - so how can any reasonable person not see this process as a sham. Stalin's head of his Secret Police (Beria) said "Show me the man, and I'll show you the crime," I guess that's where the democrats have taken us.

Anonymous said...

Actually, like the vast majority of SNL sketches the last 10 or so years, that wasn’t funny. Not even mildly amusing.

Whoever denied it, supplied it said...

I can say without reservation that when Eric Swalwell farted on the air it was the single most intelligent thing that came out of any of the democrats during the open hearings.

A coffee cup, really??? C'mon...democrats can't tell the truth about ANYTHING!

Also, he just contributed to climate change, and if cow farts contribute that much to climate change, imagine all of the gas that members of congress spew.

10:16, the winners write the history books. Unfortunate or not, that’s the way it is. Up until fairly recently, history was simply conquerors versus conquered. But we’re all here together now, might as well learn to get along.

Anonymous said...

Ever notice that Bernie Sanders sounds just like George Steinbrenner ?

Anonymous said...

Oh no.....10:52, are you telling me Epstein is dead!

Whose is going to take his place in reruns of "Welcome Back Kotter"

Idiots immating idiots

Wait wut...Larry David is running for president?

Anonymous said...

Love it when spelling-challenged dopes refer to others as idiots. Immating?

Anonymous said...

I absolutely despise Larry David. And Kingfish insists on posting videos of that wretched living stereotype on a monthly basis

Kingfish said...

Thinking about making it weekly.

I actually thought it was refreshing for SNL to take time out from bashing Trump to poke fun at the democrats. Maybe they've finally decided that ratings are more important than political commentary.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
