Looks like the Madison County Republican Party is asleep because Jim Hood won Madison County and Karl Banks got back in as supervisor. Glad Tater Tot won!

Well, Karl did need a new tax payer paid car with Fuel Man.

Not the type of porn I prefer but still interesting

That is a big set back for a County with so much "R" power.

Doe anyone know the final vote count between Banks and Harreld for Madison County Supervisor ? I've seen conflicting reports. The CL had an article today saying Harreld won, not Banks.

Voters who know doughboy don't vote for doughboy.

Where can I find that Sherwin-Williams thread about paint drying?

In the case of the race for governor, think deeper than you're thinking. A white population of roughly 58% does not necessarily convert to republicans. There are a lot of young, supposedly upwardly-mobile young couples in this county who have still not begun to question the indoctrination they received in college. Typically, that sheen doesn't begin to wear off until one reaches the age of 40 or 45.

I don't know how to begin to explain the Banks win. However, as with every election in and around Jackson, I suppose the people who voted for him will get what they deserve and the ones who voted against him will not deserve what they're about to get. In either case, it'll be a sad shit-show. Banks 'may have' won, but the people for sure lost.

Word on the skreet has it that John Boy Crosby will be the County Administrator and David Overby will be in charge of keeping the name plates shined up in the Board Room.

Interesting stat regarding Tate/hood: hood got nearly 6-7% of the republican votes.

And it’s a trend that carried over, somewhat, in Madison County.

Tre better be aware of this lest he be a single term governor.

Congratulations Madison. You will always be known for having voted for Hood and Bomgar. Liberals, Liberal-tarians, Marijuana Lovers, Anti-Cop. You are truly Special People.

@11:06 AM the heavy Madison County Republican precincts went heavy for Reeves. My own gave him 65% after voting for Waller 63%+Foster 7% in the primary. The RINO malcontents will come home in 2020 for Trump+Hyde-Smith and will be back for Reeves in 2023. (We went 74% for Hyde-Smith vs Espy in run-off if you need a clue.) Madison County is NOT suddenly in play for Democrats.

We are woke here in Madison!

1:49 - now we know where all the Jackson refugees moved to. Too bad for Ridgeland. They will start to decay like Jackson did in the 90’s in only a few years....and the people that work and live west of I55 will vote to secede and become a new city.

Take a look at the areas that went democratic, Ridgeland precincts with all the apartments and Canton. Also some of the vote was just against Tate in general. he never said anything he was going to do just that Hood was with Pelosi.

I guess you prefer the indoctrination passed on from Ross Barnett on to your Maw-maw and Paw-paw down to your mammy and pappy instead!? SMH

Bruce, we know it's you at 1:49, go get a real job and quit trying to find a taxpayer-funded salary. I think the only reason Hood won Madison was due to the Democrat population of Canton and South Ridgeland, combined with some of the uppity NE Jackson socialite club that's moved to Madison - they clearly don't like Tate. Meanwhile, the guy saying that people who know Tate don't like him must have missed the Rankin County general results.

Anonymous said...

3:48, I noticed you conveniently avoided the Rankin County Republican primary results. Doughboy lost Rankin to Waller by almost 2,000 votes.

You've got him for eight years. Enjoy!

Its not as if Madison the County is all white. Not even close.

Get real about Hood and Banks. Hood received some of Judge Wallers support. District 4 is now more white than black. Banks received some white votes—I know from some that did. Did you ever hear Harreld speak—really he is a throw back to the David Richardson days. There are some intelligent folks in Madison County that can think for themselves.

I am so glad that Mississippi packs no weight when it comes to national politics! Enjoy your victory and your vote for Trump in 2020. The rest of the country will keep moving up while Mississippi goes down the tubes but hey the mantra “I got mine to hell with everyone else” crowd is alive and well in the hospitality state!

Madison has just insured ZERO help from the House and the Governor’s Mansion. Let’s hope Delbert can help.

Anonymous said...

4:51 PM is correct…”Banks received some white votes,” including white Republican votes.

As supervisor David Bishop angered many of his constituents by voting for further development within his district.

The angered constituents voted Bishop out in the Repub primary in favor of Harreld.

Dems, combined with Repubs that are not anti-development…voted for Banks.

Something must be in the water in Madison County because folks just can’t wait to get here…but as soon as their move is complete, they want to be the last person in…and control all of the remaining undeveloped land near where they live.

Greed can be a fickle bitch.

How many total votes did Tate get in Madison County’s and how many did he get in Hinds County? I bet the difference is not much.

RINOs & Dems Voted for Hood-wink said...

Interesting comments. Tater must have pissed off a few Madison republicans and got their votes plus some carpet-bagger dems from Hinds Co.

4:51 - I don't judge folks by the way they speak. I look for results. We saw 30 years of results from Banks, yet 'his people' wanted more of the same. So be it. He completes the trifecta. Truly, Lumumba, Banks...a straight line of corruption. On the other hand, nobody has brought forward a single hint of corruption, favoritism, poor judgment or violation of sound ethical principles regarding Harreld in his decades in the private sector. If you care to, please do. Oh, but you can yap about David Richardson who has been out of office almost 20 years.

Aisle B Bach said...

Perhaps think deeper still......look at the vote total for the Governor's race and then go down ballot...the Republicans in Madison County apparently didn't like Tate Reeves (maybe Kingfish could enlighten me on what the butt hurt is)...a number of them voted Jim Hood but then went straight Republican down ballot. It's a Tate Reeves problem...not a party problem.....oh, I live in Canton and I voted Reeves...

Anonymous said...

So 11:43 —-please share all the results Harreld has made. If he can’t articulate a sentence how can he make a motion, I get it—he seconds the motion. Typical 3rd generation losers. Another of the dying off of the Canton ole white guard. Not many left of the hay days of the 1950-60s. Didn’t he have something to do with his brother -n-law the Chancery Clerk that was indicted for embezzlement. Go back and look at all the contracts.

Side-note: Banks' boy re-emerges on Planning & Zoning and the petulant physician comes off.

Bishop Voted For Banks.. said...

BTW 6:38 - Bishop didn't vote for shit as 'development in his own district'. His focus, as is Steen's, was on ruining Gluckstadt and pandering to his developer friends who kept his bank account solvent for four years. You'll find him in the third cubicle at Mac Haik's Ford Dealership now.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
