A Greenville High School football player who broke his neck a week ago in a football game against Madison Central died today. The Clarion-Ledger reported:
Greenville football player Jeremiah Williams, who spent the last week at a Jackson hospital after fracturing two vertebrae in his neck when attempting to make a tackle, died on Friday, sources told the Clarion Ledger.
Since getting airlifted off the field during a home game against Madison Central, Williams, a junior cornerback, had spent the last week at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Doctors put him on a ventilator Nov. 3. Rest of article.
Young Williams was one of six children in his family. If you want to help the family, you can donate at the family's Gofundme page.

Heartbreaking...I can’t imagine his family’s pain.
Such a shame. I sure he had such a bright life ahead of him.
I hope the family was able to come to grips with the idea of donation. I can't imagine the emotion involved in considering that at a critical time like this. But, I can hope.
The Go Fund Me effort to raise funds for Jeremiah Williams’ medical bills was initiated by the father of a Madison Centeal football player, and not by the Williams family.
May he Rest in Peace!! Along with the 2 other Young Men who passed away on the field this year.
@8:42, @8:19 was likely alluding to organ donation.
@ 8:42 ... what is whom that initiated the gofundme account has to do with anything? A young man doing what he loved lost his life. Some people are complete idiots. Yes, much thanks to the man that started the page. But my God. I dont feel he even done it for recognition, he did it from his heart. GOD BLESS the man that started the GoFundMe page and the young man's family. Rest in peace
10:08 am I pray you are correct that there was an adjective failure by 8:19 am.
8:19 am is the one who must make sure that is clear and be sorry for his/her mistake.
Sadly, it is too similar to prior knee jerk racism and the grief of others being seized upon by the sleazy humans who see human tragedy as an opportunity to spew political venom.
My heart is breaking for the family of this fine young man.
I admire that they have honored their son by helping others in pain when their own is so great
