First up was the Punk of the Day, now there is an Idiot of the Day today as someone apparently got a case of the stupid in Simpson County.

The principal at this school is very weak. Discipline is a joke.Student brought a knife to school, was suspended, then re-admitted just in time for standardized testing, when her scores would help the school's test results.

Hmmm, square knot, bolen, sheepshank...
I missed the memo when certain knots were outlawed.

You have to eat your sandwich starting in the middle. If you start at a corner and then set your sandwich back on your plate that is now hate speech because the sammie resembles a gun.

Future centuries will laugh at our culture.

The principal doesn't want to stick his neck out.

Manufactured crisis, Look at me, Look at me!

Let's not jump to conclusions, we know the liberals are trying to make us look bad. This is probably a set up.

Sorry if I seem cold, but this day and age of social media, and media in general, I am always skeptical until someone is caught doing it. Too many times recently we have seen an uproar over something and no credible evidence is found. It like people are doing things to keep certain people "woke". I know I shouldn't feel that way, but I do. Plus, it's Mendenhall. A noose and a Trilene fishing knot are about the same thing. All in perspective and how you want to see things. I know as a former Boy Scout I used to tie random knots in all kinds of things.

Who freaking cares?! Someone would have to be only 18 inches tall to be hung by a window cord.

Does Mendenhall actually have school policies regulating knots in window blind cords? They should be spending time on trying to teach the kids so the test scores aren't so low.

I don't see anything about a dumbass, a window shade or knots in a cord. Where is that posted?

Anonymous said...

Sorry - Now I see it. Had to leave Firefox and go over to AOL for the knot photo to appear. Most times embedded images will NOT appear on Firefox. Don't know why.

Kingfish said...

There is a possibility that the noose was hung by someone black. Such hoaxes have happened quite a few times around the country.

Whoever is responsible, white or not, should be expelled and charged with a hate crime.

I have always thought school principals were dumber than mud. This confirms it. Hangman noose SO WHAT? Without P C who would care.

For those that aren't aware, there was another incident earlier in the year in the same school district where a teacher had to resign. It wasn't widely reported, but here is a story: https://www.simpsoncounty.ms/front-page-slideshow-news-schools/teacher-resigns-over-alleged-%E2%80%98racist-tirade%E2%80%99

I would imagine the claimed lack of communication from the school district after that incident led some to be pretty disgusted when this happened. Also, not sure why the principal or school district should lead this investigation. It should be treated as a hate crime for the threat of force to intimidate and will likely lead to some serious charges.

I'm reminded of the black church member up in Washington County two years ago who torched his church after spraying it with Trump graffiti.

I've tied similar knots, myself, in past years with absolutely no racist motive or thought. Hanging, with use of a noose-knot, was legal in this country for a century.

I do, though, look for all Magee schools to change out their window shade cords and substitute black cords. It's only proper.

I figured you folks would jump on the black person did it theory, I am not saying one didn't do it. A person who can refrain from showing bias would wait to cast judgement until the investigation was completed. Yet we find even the Blog owner casting judgement with racist overtones. What a great group of Christans.

A hangmans noose and today is Halloween. Must have been a slow news day. I'm going to eat a banana and throw a peel in the tree so people can freak out.

Thank goodness no one saw a banana peel in a tree.

Ah, 6:30 - There's nothing racist about considering possibilities. The initial suggestion, albeit subtle, is that a white person tied the knot with evil intent. So, you object to us considering other possibilities? You can sit on your thumbs all day long - nobody gives a damn. The rest of us will consider possibilities and engage in open discussion.

There's an equal possibility that whoever did this had no evil intent at all. Then there's the possibility that an employee did it since scholars are not typically ALONE in a classroom.

@6:30, click the first picture and it leads you to the Facebook post saying "they can delete but it's going back up". Read the comments. They are ready to riot, but I guess due process only applies to white Christian folks, not the people shouting racism from their FB. This is my favorite

from Shon:

"I have said it before, Racisum never stopped in Simpson County, never will, no matter how old u get, its always there, Trump has open all Flood GATES, they wear it with HONOR"

from Angel:
"This is taught behavior. Children learn to hate from their parents IGNORANCE has no place here! This school and community has a lot of love for all kids, if you can’t show that same love move to Puckett or another racist community. Maybe this isn’t the right school for your kid!"

So, 6:30, stay WOKE with your blatant racism and thoughts of waiting until an investigation and not having bias. No they are saying Puckett and surrounding schools are racist without an ounce of credible proof.

I taught their were adults here, but I see only simpletons who can't wait for the facts. That you would lash out at person for calling you on it, only proves my point.

Anonymous said...

Given that the Mendenhall student school population is overwhelmingly black it stands to reason that someone black could be a member of the said knot-tie club. That is, unless one believes that blacks are incapable of learning how to tie a knot.

Anonymous said...

12:20 - Please help me understand how a point not made can be proved. I'll wait.

These are the folks that believe a caravan of peasants need to be confronted by 5000 troops, and that someone can actually end birthright citizenship with an executive order. I would be okay with it if they could but you can't. Let's stop the rectoric and talk about solutions that the majority of us can agree on. Congress will be split in the next session someone has to be big enough to step across the street.

To the second commenter - that's bowline, not bolen.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
