Alston, Jr. indicted for strangling & kidnapping former girlfriend

A Jackson man stands accused of savagely beating, strangling, and kidnapping his girlfriend (now ex-girlfriend) while he was a student at Ole Miss in 2016.  His pictures show a baby-faced, happy go-lucky 22 year-old man, but the indictment and civil lawsuits filed against Sheldon Alston, Jr. portray a different person.

Source: Public Facebook
A Lafayette County grand jury indicted Sheldon Alston, Jr., for aggravated domestic violence and kidnapping in June, 2017.  The indictment accuses Alston of strangling and kidnapping his girlfriend on September 7-8, 2016.  Alston faces prison sentences of 1 yr-to-life or 30 years for kidnapping, and from 2-to-20 years for aggravated domestic violence if convicted.   The Lafayette County District Attorney is Ben Creekmore.  Attorney Kenneth Coghlan represents Alston.  The case is scheduled to go to trial during the April term.  The case is assigned to Circuit Judge Andrew Howorth.  JJ is withholding the victim's name from publication.

However, a civil lawsuit provides more information about the alleged brutality that took place that night. The victim sued Alston on August 17, 2017 in Hinds County Circuit Court.  Alston lives in Jackson, but previously attended Ole Miss (when the alleged incidents took place).

The couple began dating in January, 2016.  Alston allegedly hit and strangled the victim in August,  2016.  He apologized and promised to get help so they resumed their relationship.

The complaint states they went out with friends on The Square in Oxford on the night of September 7, 2016.   Alston allegedly became angry, demanded she leave with him, accused her of talking too much to her girlfriends, and yelled at her.  He pushed her down some brick stairs.  He took away her iPhone and destroyed it.  The victim claims that she suffered a scratch on her cheek.  Then all hell broke loose (allegedly and literally):

15. As they turned south onto South 18th Street, a much less traveled road than University Avenue, Alston began to forcefully grope xxxx, sticking his hand up xxxx's skirt, while sliding his other hand over her mouth. Fearing for her safety, xxxx tried to push him away.

16. Infuriated by xxxx's rebuff, Alston willfully, wantonly, and maliciously threw her to the ground, pinning her under him, preventing her from escaping. At this point, he unleashed a torrent of blows, viciously and repeatedly striking her face with his hands. Alston's physical attack continued when he began strangling xxxx with both hands clasped around her neck.

17. Alston's attack left xxxx severely bruised. xxxx had cuts and aberrations on her legs, elbow, and back. Alston's actions further caused bruises and wounds around her neck and leaving her left eye swollen shut....

19. Once at Alston's house, Alston stated: "I am going to kill myself, and I am going to kill you, too." Apparently noticing the seriousness of his words coupled with the physical attacks he had already inflicted on xxxx, Alston quickly added: "Actually, I am not going to kill you." (How nice of him to say that.  What a relief- KF)

20. xxxx begged Alston to let her go home or to call her a ride. However, Alston refused. He even stood in front of the door preventing her from leaving.

21. Instead he asked xxxx can they '"do it one last time." Bruised from his vicious physical attacks on her, xxxx began to cry. Alston responded by spitting on her and calling her selfish for not having sex with him.

22. After a while, when things had calmed down, xxxx saw her opportunity to leave Alston's house, and attempted to do so.

23. When Alston figured out that xxxx had attempted to leave his house without his permission, he again became furious, resuming his brutal physical attack on xxxx. This fourth attack of the night was the most vicious and brutal.

24. Alston slammed her against the wall. In an attempt to get away xxxx sunk down against the wall to the floor. But Alston did not let her get away. He pinned her under him, preventing her from escaping and continued the attack, again willfully, wantonly, and maliciously strangling her and striking her with his hands.....

28. Instead, Alston drove xxxx to his grandfather's secluded cabin in the woods located at ____  in Oxford, Lafayette County, where the two were completely alone.

30. Upon returning to Alston's house at around 6:00 AM, Alston forbade xxxx from leaving, fearing someone would call the police on him if they saw her injuries he had caused.

31. xxxx finally convinced Alston to allow her to leave by telling him that she planned to drive to her home in Columbia, Mississippi and stay there until she healed from the injuries he had inflicted on her.
She went to the emergency room where her injuries were treated and documented.  The hospital reported the injuries to the Oxford Police Department.  An Oxford police officer visited the victim at the hospital.  His report described her injuries, although it can't describe the suffering and horror she endured if the alleged events are indeed true.  The stomach turns as one reads the list:

a. Scratches and bruising on her right jaw
b. Scratches and bruising on the left jaw
c. Scratches on her left hairline
d. The area around her left eye was bruised, scratched and swollen
e. Both lips were bruised badly and the inside of her mouth was also bruised
f. Her back was scratched in several places
g. Her right elbow was scratched
h. Her right leg was bruised
1. Her neck was red, bruised, and scratched all the way around including the area around her hair line on the back of her neck. Some of the marks on her neck looked like scratch marks from finger nails scratching her neck.

Oxford police arrested Alston and charged him with felony domestic violence-aggravated assault and felony kidnapping.  He posted a $30,000 bond and was released.

The lawsuit charges him with several counts of assault, battery, false imprisonment, conversion, (for stealing and destroying iPhone) and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The plaintiff asks the court to award actual and punitive damages.  Alston's answer denied most of the allegations but claimed the plaintiff bit Alston's finger as they walked to his house.  It also states a "physical fight" took place between the two and that they "hit" each other.  He also claims that he drove the plaintiff to the cabin with her consent.

The civil case was assigned to Hinds County Circuit Judge Bill Gowan.  Attorney Walter Johnson (Watkins & Eager) represents Alston.  The victim is represented by attorneys Jonathan Masters and Geoffrey Calderaro (Both of Holcomb Dunbar).

Kingfish note: If the allegations are true, this young woman is very brave indeed.  It should be noted that for some strange reason, Alston's arrest was somehow missed by the Oxford media in their police blotter reports.   Immediately going to the hospital when he (allegedly) released her was a very smart thing to do.  The medical evidence appears to be pretty damning and there is little reason to suspect the medical staff fabricated her injuries.  One can't even begin to imagine the horror that went through her mind as she was beaten and undoubtedly feared for her life.  JJ will monitor these two cases as they progress through the courts of Mississippi.

Good God that is Brutal. To me that sounds like drug rage and an unstable mind. What a piece of crap that guy is and I hope the books gets thrown at him. Lets hope the victim gets the help she needs as this will stay with her a long time.

Incredibly it appears he was allowed to transfer to Millsaps: http://gomajors.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=3213

I know this kid. While I certainly didn't know about him abusing someone, I can certainly say that he is a smug, arrogant, entitled little prick. So it doesn't surprise me one bit that he probably thought he "owned" this young girl.

And all that money wasted on St Andrews...

He went to St Andrews and then Ole Miss. I think a drug problem is just a given with that scenario.

Please tell me he isn't related to Alex.

Did anyone see his position on the Milsaps LaCrosse team? His position is "Attack"...how appropriate for this slug.

I hope someone contacts Milsaps and let's them know who they have allowed to play on their team...they probably have no idea!

Wow an elite school like Millsaps admitted him. Let me guess - he had a 23 on the ACT and a checkbook.

Dang, you'd think a good liberal upbringing would lead this young man to be more respectful to women. Of course with the Episcopal church doing away with genders who's to say men and women can beat each up as equals? #metoo #entitled #standrewshasbiggerissues

Seems like the registrar's office at Ole Miss might have extended the admissions office at Millsaps the professional courtesy of a head's up when they requested a transcript, but I suppose that would've been precluded by privacy considerations. Between that and the non-existent news coverage in Oxford, how was an admissions officer to know?

Bet this "tough guy" would never try that **** with a man. P.O.S.

If all works out, maybe he can be sent to Kemper Regional and share a cell with Clark. Maybe they can compare notes, methods, and best results while spending the next couple of decades together.

WOuld it take a normal person almost a year to be indicted for similar alleged crimes? If Junya didn't go ato the right schools and play lacrosse and if Junya's daddy wasn't apparently at Brunini and Junya wasn't a Hotty Toddy and etc then would it take this long when the victim goes straight to the ER and the police take the report at the ER? What took so long to the point that Junya could apparently transfer the following year?

Has Yung Junya even been mugshotted and arraigned yet?

I went to school with this kid and all I can say was that I've always hated him. He was always cruel and vindictive towards myself and others and it's only natural that his nature showed itself. Only I'm surprised it didn't come out sooner. This kid sucks and deserves to rot in a cell

Anonymous said...

So, after reading the pleadings, who was the roommate that was present in the apartment while the girl was being assaulted and apparently did nothing to stop this? Spill it Ole Miss students, what is the guy's name? He deserves to be publicly named and shamed, too.

Anonymous said...

I also went to school with this guy for many years.
Sheldon was outwardly (and superficially) nice, but he consistently over many years used his demeanor to take advantage of people.
His antics and provocative behavior was all "just a joke" but always went too far, and he thrived off peoples' suffering. When you confronted him about it, he would claim you were taking things too seriously, making you the overly sensitive weakling. His malice is psychological.
I'm horrified to say I'm not surprised by this news - this was not just one moment of poor judgment, but an escalation of arrogant, self-righteous, and entitled behavior that was condoned and propagated by his social circle.

In a class of 80-some, he was a significant detriment to many peoples' high school experience, and caused a lot of emotional pain for a few of us.

He's a piece of human garbage, and I have no sympathy to offer him.
I hope he's rightfully convicted and sent to prison.
I hope he's locked up so no one else has to experience his presence.
And most of all I hope he reads this message.

Frequently I can find some trace of an arrest on the internet.

This search comes up empty. Just a 75 in a 55 speeding ticket in 1990, so that isn't the guy.

That's why I wonder if the arrest was processed and a mugshot taken. Since the local media missed the arrest at the time it occurred.

Also on more than one occasion I have seen the arrested person's name misspelled to the extent that it is hard to find.

Hey, they say almost anyone can get a lucky break. Right?

It isn't like he has a common name, so this shouldn't be that hard. Unless someone got a lucky break. Or something.

Parents are so involved in their status in their circle of friends, work and society that they don’t have time to see the warnings signs. If this person was like this in school then he is like the ones that I went to school with. Losers. They will hurt others for their personal pleasure and gain but when life hits them in the face they are the ones who cannot handle it. They treat people this way for a reason and like I said, it begins at home.

7:34 pm 's description is of a bully. Bullies didn't succeed in the schools I attended because the teachers were empowered to deal with behavior problems. The first option they had were " conduct" grades. If you made less than a B in conduct, you could not play sports or engage in any other school related activities. Attempts were made at bullying, of course, and if it were a group, the guidance counselor brought in every student and every parent. They split up the group so that they had little no contact during the school day and encouraged the parents to not allow their children to socialize with the bully until his or her behavior changed. Bullies actually learned their lesson in most cases or were gone.

Bullying has always been more of a problem at private schools where wealthy parents donation can intimidate the faculty and administration.

4:43 pm Unfortunately, all groups, even those who are " liberal" have misogynists who prey on women or haven't you been paying attention to " Me Too" or Cosby or the Catholic Church scandal or evangelists preachers made the news? At least, the Episcopal Church doesn't believe women are lesser humans who must submit to men and who cannot have roles of authority within the church.

It's rather surprising that most Americans would agree that Islamist sects, particularly the radical jihaddists oppress and abuse women as do the some of the polygamist Mormon sects. Surely, you don't think Islam or Mormonism are " liberal" religions?

Every group has those who engage in bad behavior. When you overlook repeated bad behavior in an individual because that person is viewed as powerful or meets the needs of the group in some ways so there are no consequences, you condone the behavior. You are the problem. So look to your own groups. That's where the behavior problems get solved.

I understand why most of the comments about this little **** who did this. I'm pissed off that this happened as well, and feel real empathy for the feelings that her parents must be dealing with right now.

However, what we should all be remembering and thinking about (and praying about) is this young lady who will re-live this moment many, many times during the remainder of her life and the emotional and mental damage that this incident will have on her, her trust of men, and future relationships. Hopefully, the law will take care of Junior. However, we should pray that God heals this young lady in every way. Physical wounds heal quickly. Emotional wounds take time.

How about everyone calm down and realize that this article is very poorly written and clearly one sided. Also, since this a message board and everything posted by KF is in the public domain, go tell your shit stain of a client that he will get roasted in prison. Might want to privately advise him that "expanding his nether region" before the trial will lessen some of the pain that's coming. Women beaters, rapers and child molesters get what's coming pretty quickly.

@11:07 is correct. The kid is innocent until proven guilty of this particular crime. However, I know him well and I don't need a judge or jury to tell you that he is an entitled little prick. He is trouble, he is better than you (ask him and he will tell you), and he thinks daddy or granddaddy will get him out of anything because he is freakin' Sheldon Alston, Jr. This kid is a jerk and a first class butt-hole. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if everything in these documents is true. However, he does deserve a fair trial, as does the young lady. I worry he will get off because of daddy and granddaddy pulling strings, even if he is guilty. Then the little prick will be even worse to deal with.

You’re right 11:07. Those documented injuries by the hospital and PD were probably done to herself. Or better yet she probably provoked him to where she deserved it. I’m sure a jury will go for that defense.

Sounds like the 'other side' of this kid's legal family (grandfather on mother's side) chiming in at 11:07. Not recognized in wondering how this was 'overlooked' by the Oxford press, how he got out of the pokey so easily in Oxford, is his political and power-attorney grandfather from Batesville. Silver spoons can come from all dinner settings - doubling up oftentimes works with geometric results.

Anonymous said...

I'm not totally blaming St. Andrews, but I know for an absolute fact that they knew this kid was trouble.

My son graduated with him. Played sports with him. He has always been a piece of shit. There was once incident where he should have been expelled from St. Andrew's and his parents threw their weight around and got him off with a slap on the wrist.

Sheldon and kids like him are a problem at St. Andrew's, Prep, JA and the like. "Affluenza" is real. They believe that they can get away with anything because of their family's wealth. This is the end of that path.

Sheldon, if you are reading this - I hope you take time and look back on all the lives you destroyed at St. Andrew's. You really affected some of your classmates, then laughed about it when you didn't get in trouble. I don't suspect this time will be any different. The slap on your wrist might sting a little harder, but it will still be a slap on the wrist.

But I want you to reflect on the things you did and the people you intentionally hurt for your own sick pleasure. When you get off this time, I want you to realize that its probably the last time and make an effort to become a good man. When you have children, remember the pain you caused and make sure that you don't allow your children to do the same.

St. Andrews (and other private schools) - if you are reading this - let this be a lesson to you that there is a young girl from Columbia that had to go through this because you did not do the right thing years ago. I'd be willing to donate a little more to your next capital campaign if I knew you were doing what you should be doing on these "affluenza" cases.

Millsaps admin - I know you need every penny you can get, and its only going to get worse after the Christian Center debacle, but students who violently beat and kidnap their girlfriends in Oxford do not warrant admission to your fine institution. Say no for once.

My heart breaks for the victim in this case. I am still shaken from reading this story. You see, my daughter was involved with an abusive, narcissistic sociopath. Initially, their relationship was great and she felt it might lead eventually to marriage. I approved of the relationship, which in retrospect I know now is one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made.

Over the course of their relationship we learned a lot about him. A story that could be the script for a Lifetime movie. He was a liar. He was a thief. He was a cheater. He was an abuser. He physically knocked her down in a parking lot. She says now she should have called the police. He pushed her down the stairs and off the porch of his house, almost breaking one of her fingers. He took her iPhone from her several times. In a fit of anger he ripped a necklace off her neck, in his parents' home, during a visit. Every time she tried to end the relationship he would beg and plead with her to stay. Finally she had enough and ended it. He painted a very different picture to his family, blaming everything on my daughter, because narcissists are never wrong, right?

I am sure there are other things she endured that I will never know, because she moved on and is now married to a real man who loves and respects her.

I am convinced had she married the abusive, narcissistic sociopath, she would be an alcoholic or she would be dead.

1:34 Great point. Having written such ER notes for victims of assault, and shared them with the police, I am highly suspicious the events unfolded exactly as the victim described. He will have his chance in court to argue he was defending himself against a brutal assault by a homicidal coed, but it would probably be more believable if he told the jury he was held helpless by a paralysis ray while aliens from another galaxy assaulted her.

I have no idea, but if so.. they better hope and pray to their all inclusive, multicultural, nondenominational god that no one comes out of woodwork with a child that this freak harmed. #onecallthatsall

3:01, If she is beaten and bruised, I have a hard time understanding how he could have been a possible victim of a homicidal coed. A guy can get away, even this guy. So you can play lacrosse but can't get away from a girl? You don't have to beat the everlasting Sh** out of her just to get away. If I'm on the jury, there's not much deliberating to do.

8:58 I'll type slowly, since you are obviously a special kind of stupid who doesn't recognize sarcasm. Since you didn't mention my alternative story that he could provide the jury I assume you do, in fact, believe space aliens may have paralyzed him while they caused her injuries.

If so, please please please stay off of juries.

Not trying to insult SA, UNLESS they knew this freak was dangerous, yet concealed that information from colleges, potential employers, etc. IF so, I have no problem insulting anyone who would defend such behavior. I don’t know if that’s the case or not. There were a coup,e of previous posters who stated that he was a known bully and that SA knew this.

10:00 pm. I guess, you are partly right. We Episcopalians are "inclusive, multicultural" yes, that is certainly true, and true of St. Andrew's School, but we do not pray to a "nondenominational god". No, by definition Episcopalians are denominational, and we pray to Jesus Christ, Our Lord, god from god, light from light, begotten, not made, of one being with the Father, from whom all things were made.... See the Book of Common Prayer, page 362.

8:28: As an SA alumna, I find your comment extremely offensive. I graduated with Sheldon. To me, he did not possess this behavior in high school. He might have acted arrogant, but then again most of the students/ high school boys were. We were children born from well to do families, but that does not make us all entitled brats. I DO NOT justify his behavior, and it has been 4 years since we graduated, but the Sheldon I knew was not like this. This is a bad interpretation of the story. I do not know all the facts, nor am I saying that the victim is lying, but I believe this story is very one sided. I’m a female and I can related and have sincere empathy for what she must have went through, but by no means is it okay to leave such horrible remarks on this page. Shame on the people who call him monstrous names. Ruining his life does not make her life any easier. He will pay for his mistakes, his poor decisions, and his actions. By internet shaming him, you are only inflicting more ugly into the situation at hand.

Anonymous said...

@11:29 The Sheldon I knew was more than just arrogant. This story doesn't surprise me at all.

Anonymous said...

@ 11:29 Internet shaming? Is that a new snowflake term? Did these comments about a woman-beating kidnapper trigger you?

Anonymous said...

11:29 pm Your post suggests you are a strong, confident young woman . Abusers and bullies target those who they sense are vulnerable so that you didn't see this side of Sheldon not surprising. Bullies and predators can be ingratiating.

I would point out that a male with the advantage of size and strength doesn't have to inflict injury in a physical fight on anyone. Indeed, really strong men with good judgment try to avoid physical altercations. Also, Sheldon , by his own admission, drove her to another location when he could have simply taken her to her place of residence.

Do look at the description of her injuries and that they were documented.

The bruising , swelling and scratching were not the restraint injuries to arms, wrists or legs but were to the head and neck and back.

The scenarios that might justify self-defense on his part should already be documented in the answer. A " finger bite" doesn't rise to that level but sounds more like what a woman would do in a struggle to get away.

I agree some of the comments are distasteful and unreasonable and I also don't like that the potential of the internet to have rational discussions of serious issues is plagued with malicious, troublemakers. I also believe in the rule of law. And, I do like this young man's family members that I've met and this saddens me.

But, denial and enabling by the well intentioned who want to believe the best in others, even in their own family, and who ignore behavioral warning signs enable bad behaviors to escalate.

While you are focused on the best in the person you knew..your anecdotal experiences and so did others with their negative experiences...KF's post and historical evidence suggests that warning signs were ignored and that is terrible disservice to Sheldon.

And, sadly, that the concept of " reasonable doubt" has become any far fetched idea ( thus unreasonable) that a defense attorney can conjure. While a defense attorney still can't put a sworn witness on the stand he knows will lie, judges now allow defense attorneys to themselves suggest to the public (potential jurors) and in the courtroom scenarios for which zero evidence exists.

Similarly, the legal concept of "self defense" that results in injury or death is no longer tied to level of threat nor does it consider reasonable and obvious alternatives.

Lawyers and judges are too often, these days, are making a bad event worse by defending the indefensible. Sometimes, acknowledgement, apology, atonement or compensation with a verifiable commitment to " go forth and sin no more" is better for everyone. Justice and fairness are lost when " win" or " lose" are the only considerations. It's supposed to be a " fair trial", "not theater of the absurd" not just by law enforcement and the court, but by the defense as well.

11:29 Your sentiments are well-intentioned but misguided. This poor victim (ok, ALLEGED victim with numerous injuries) has not had any justice so far. This is all part of the process, ugly as some of it may be. As I posted up above, he deserves his day in court to explain the circumstances that led to her injuries. I doubt you can find 12 people dumb enough to fall for a BS story, but he can try. My daughter was also in your class, and I heard stories about him even then. My middle schooler confirmed it with the eloquence of a 14-year-old "Dad, he's just a dick".

Didn't SA teach you "As ye sow, so shall ye reap"? Sucks to be him, but nobody's fault but his.

8:43 - serious question - first read again the extensive description of her injuries from the hospital report posted above.

Now - if you were the victim, how much money would you settle for to drop the criminal charges?

I suspect the young lady is more of a man than you'll ever be, but we shall see.......

I was two years older than him at both SA and Ole Miss, and even though we didn't run in the same social circles (thank god for that!), the stories I heard about him were shocking and hard to believe. Back then I dismissed them as gossip and hearsay - since he was so charming to teachers and authority figures and those that didn't know him very well - but I certainly believe the stories now.

It took a lot of bravery for the victim to come forward with her abuse, and I hope that the justice system comes through for her. There's nothing more terrifying than being hurt by someone you trust, especially when it turns physical. But I hope other women who read this story and the comments take away the fact that they should follow their gut instinct if they feel that something is wrong, and if the worst does happen, to tell the police immediately and seek help.

I also have deep suspicions that the law background in the Alston family is the reason why we are now just hearing about this incident. Mississippi, after all, is less of a state and more of a social club -- and the lawyers in this state are all thick as thieves with one another. No doubt there has been some legal maneuvering behind the scenes to prevent this incident from becoming public news. Good on you KF for giving this story the exposure it needs.

rewind back to oxford to may 1986. a student names jean gillies was beaten, tourtured, raped and ritualistically strangled to death by a member of the ole miss billionaire boys club named douglas hodgkins. he was tried for capitol murder and convicted, but he jury chickened out and refused to impose a death penalty. at that time you wold be parole eligible after 10 years in prison. consequently he came up for parole in 1996 and the only thing that kept him in prison was a grass roots campaign by the victims family and even the NRA's operation crime strike . over the next 11 years he was granted no less than 8 parole hearings with multiple members of the parole board clamoring for his release . after a mere 20 years, and over the vehement objections of the victims family he was paroled in may 2009 after a big payoff was made to 3 of the 5 members of the parole board. that drunken bum, butch browne, a former head of the mississippi department of transportation carried the bag. this state has a long history of refusing to hold rich, psychopathic abusers and murderers of women accountable. so dont expect alot to be done to this little punk.

As long as those commenting are not bearing false witness, and aren't acting as vigilantes, they don't have to worry.

There is equal danger in relying on a few sentences without putting them in context which is seems to me you have done.

You missed that KFs post speaks not just about two people involved in the assault , but also about justice and corrupting influence in our community.

You, apparently, also missed the parts about condoning, acknowledgement and atonement and being puffed up in your reference source.

Tend to your own soul and I'll tend to mine. I'm quite willing to have the Lord judge my soul but I care not at all for your opinion.

I and a lot of my fellow women at Millsaps College are very frightened right now because he transferred to our school. We don’t know what to do because we are all scared to say anything. We don’t even know who to say anything to. We all wanna hold Alston accountable for his actions and hold Millsaps accountable for putting us in danger, but no one knows how to do this or is too scared to do it. So I’m leaving this here so that maybe the author of just someone who sees this, someone who Alston doesn’t know and can’t easily track down, will say something.

If your parents are writing checks to Millsaps (full price of room board tuition is over $50,000 per year) then why not have them ask Dr Pearigen some questions about this situation? Dr Pearigen may be eager to explain how Millsaps College is ensuring that any possible additional acts don't expose Millsaps College students to injury and Millsaps College to liability.

March 6 @ 11:05:

Hey rube! First rule of being a grammar Nazi is to not make any errors or typos in your critique of someone else's post. You see, "Honey, with that kind of grammar, they would not have let you out of Saint Andrews' Sixth Grade. " - well, that's just plain stupid because you misplaced the apostrophe. You meant to use the possessive but instead you ignorantly turned it into a plural, as if there was (or were - look it up) more than one "St. Andrew".

See how much fun that is to have your stupidity exposed by someone who does know how to write?

And in reading the post you mocked is seems the only typo is a misplaced "d" at the end of "relate"; otherwise it all makes sense. If KF enabled editing of posts people could correct things like this.

Remember: Saturday at 3 pm in the Coliseum: SA varsity basketball in the 3A Finals for the first time ever!

Anonymous said...

@March 8 9:06 This is a long list of disturbing posts, but if you're going to be the grammar Nazi (grammar police is a more palatable term, but you do you), maybe get an editor. You're missing a few other issues. "As an St. Andrew's alumna" - wouldn't that be "a" St. Andrew's alumna? And "inflicting more ugly"... um, ugly what? Might be missing a noun here. Also, both you and the OP have some serious punctuation issues (run on sentences, weird dashes, missing commas.) Unlike you, I am NOT a grammar "Nazi", but got distracted by the mistakes. "So how much fun that is to have your stupidity exposed." I believe what you meant to say was, "So, how much fun is it to have your stupidity exposed?" I am in NO WAY a grammarian, but you two are not doing St. A any favors here. Lol.

Back on topic, though, I hope the victim recovers and can use her story to help others. I also hope Sheldon has a heart change and turns his life around.

Metro-area Jackson certainly shows up in these comments. Yes, a**hole is son of Shelton, lawyer at Brunini, and grandson of Alex - prominent retired attorney and active political player.

But overlooked is what probably helped him out in the Oxford legal community - his grandfather on the other side. Prominent attorney, political player, OM Alumni, loser in race for MS Supreme Court (after being the loser in race for appointment to MSSC earlier). Being only 20 miles to the west, I'm sure that he has plenty of friends in the Oxford City pokey, and Lafayette DA office.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
