That there is a pretty fancy hotel room fer Laurel. Did Bannon spring for Motel 6?

A heralded announcement. To announce that he is going to have an announcement.

Only Chris McDaniel!!

And, only his followers that could think that this was important or impressive.

Said to come join him and his family on Wednesday - be interesting to see what family members are going to be there.

He’s going to embarrass himself, but at least it’ll be with out of state money.

This is how you elect David Baria as the next US Senator from Mississippi but hey, it's a free country. Until enough Democrats pass enough legislation that slowly and ever so surreptiously take individual freedoms and gives them to the federal government.

Anonymous said...

Has this guy no real law files or cases to think about? Geez. I really look forward to his losing a race for the Senate a Second time! Once more with feeling. Loooser!

May I have your attention please said...

What? An announcement about an announcement??? That’s reason enough to not vote for him

Do anyone know his stance on the Costco?

You do realize this is a pay-per-view video. Your payment will help him further his “affairs,” sorry I mean, his message.

His old man was a Republican? Lifelong. Believe it. Believe anything.

Anonymous said...

I've noticed that the same 50-60 people sing his praised on FB.......not quite enough to win an election. Chris will be fortunate to get 40%.

Roll 'em and ACTION! said...

Too bad he didn't employ the crazy Shreveport chick make a cameo appearance to light up a smoke in the background of that hotel room scene. That would have been epic!

Roger Wicker's middle name is obviously "anonymous".

Anonymous said...

He certainly has leadership qualities, but what is impressive about McDaniel is that he listens to the people. We The people are the boss, and unlike other politicians who all treat us as peasants, McDaniel has the qualities of a great public SERVANT.God Bless him. I can't wait to be represented by a true public servant.

On Wednesday, that sound you'll be hearing will be the collective sigh of relief from Conservatives all across this Country! We need Chris McDaniel in DC to help Drain the Swamp.

Brian Wells said...

I will support Chris McDaniel no matter what decision he makes! With trustworthy individuals like him in office, we can all rest assured that we have at least one person fighting for the will of the people and the constitution!

I agree, 8:16. Chris McDaniel will listen to regular folks like me, who in turn listen to Rush Limbaugh, who in turn listens directly to Jesus.

Chris McDaniel will balance the budget and cut the national debt, because that's what true conservatives stand for!

[Inaudible whispering]

What? Are you sure?

Umm ... Okay, scratch the debt part. He'll cut taxes on rich people and make sure I don't have to bake wedding cakes for queers, because that's what true conservatives stand for!

More insanity in politics.
I wonder who will break the law or end up dead because of his lack of a moral compass this time?

Anonymous said...

Politics aside, McDaniel gives me the creeps. This whole video has a major cult leader vibe that I just can't shake. Throughout the video, I kept expecting an invitation to join him in Guyana to start a new society.

Louis LeFleur said...

Drain the swamp? LMFAO!!! Yeah, just like Trump has. I guess he would have rushed the Parkland gunman unarmed too, just like Trump?

Anonymous said...

How long has this guy been in the Ms Legislature and what has he done? He seldom shows up for work. And now he wants to go to Washington DC? What has he ever done to prove himself as a leader or even as a participant in any meaningful legislature? People- use your head and think!

Anonymous said...

He alienates far too many republicans to ever have a chance of winning anything. He thinks anyone who became a republican after him is a fake. Pretty pious.

Anonymous said...

For all you naysayers, there is a new wave coming across MS. Senator McDaniel will be a breath of fresh air. He is someone who will actually represent the people and not the establishment and lobbyists like Haley Barbour. He won't bow to that evil Boss Hogg. I can't wait to hear the gasps from the RINOs.

Anonymous said...

I am glad to see all you snowflakes and RINOs having a running fit over Chris running against “King Roger”. He would have already have been a US senator if the RINOs had not teamed up with the democrats and put senile old Thad back in. That is not going to work again so you might as well get over yourselves. US Senator Chris McDaniel will be there to help President Trump drain the swamp!

Some complained about the outside money last time but you know what? It gave us something we rarely have, an actual election instead of a coronation. If any office holder is too good to answer to the people every so often at the polls, he or she doesn't need to be in office.

Truth is there is a cartel of donors in Mississippi and if one doesn't have access to their dough, then its really hard to win office above a certain level unless one can self-fund.

Anonymous said...

Protip for Chris/12:23/9:03/etc.:

When you come to JJ to do the whole fake-grassroots-support-sock-puppet thing, try to sound less like a campaign hack and more like a real person.

For example, no actual human being in 2018 who isn't on a politician's payroll uses the phrase "drain the swamp." So next time, dial the enthusiasm back to about an 8, as opposed to 11, and say something like, "Yeah, I know McDaniel isn't perfect, but he's way better than Thad."

That way at least a few people might buy your act.

Anonymous said...

I think the use of coronation was pretty accurate. We're an aristocracy in Mississippi. Feel free to argue to the contrary and I'll just respond with the same family names over and over and over.

Let's send someone new to DC. Chris McDaniel is the man to send!

Change the Flag and Fill the Potholes said...

Chris McDaniel is just Mississippi's version of Ted Cruz - minus the Princeton and Harvard degrees or any significant legal experience... Both alienate the majority of their party and cannot get along with their colleagues. Both are self-serving and abhor compromise. Both whip their die-hard base into a frenzy with words like "Constitution" and "Freedom" and "Establishment."

After the Roy Moore fiasco in Alabama, does Mississippi really want to fragment the GOP vote and hand the Democrats another seat in the U. S. Senate? The state GOP nearly imploded during the last go-around with McDaniel in 2014. That is what he is counting on again.

Anonymous said...

Chris McDaniel would be the worst thing to ever happen to Mississippi. He will say and do anything to get elected. Recall the HORROR he and his eerie campaign cohorts created during his previous attempt to gain power. Those of you singing his praises, please know that he cannot and will not be able to work with anyone. Not even his own party. You would be praying for Roger Wicker to come back! And, as previously stated, Chris is Just. Plain. Creepy. Something's OFF, y'all..........

Anonymous said...

McDaniel has my vote and I like Wicker. Really disgusted at how the establishment GOP in the state handled the run off against Cochran.

Anonymous said...

I wonder what the over/under of the anonymous bloggers praising McDaniel actually are actually Chris or Melanie?

Anonymous said...

Ugh! I'll never forget McDaniel coming off his campaign bus preceded by his menacing security detail, a couple of ex-military or ex-law enforcement torpedoes in sunglasses - Secret Service wanna-be's, for sure. It was creepy as hell.

Anonymous said...

Fight Chris, Fight!
And by the way, those of you with the mean spirited comments about Melanie are likely sad little men associating her with some other beautiful woman who would never give you the time of day. Get over it.

Anonymous said...

Can someone with factual knowledge of the MS State Senate provide a Cliff note version of Senator McDaniel's record of legislation authored or co-authored supporting his conservative views? If he can't drain the swamp in Mississippi, how would he drain the swamp on the Hill?

Anonymous said...

4:10 - wouldn't take a Cliff note. His record is so short and insignificant, one could write out in detail all of the legislation he has authored, sponsored and wouldn't equate to a Cliff note. The details on any of his legislation that has passed would make a Cliff Note appear to be a three volume tome.

Anonymous said...

Trump just endorsed Wicker. McDaniel is toast.

Anonymous said...

Naysayers regarding Chris's abilities and talents will have a field day...until the polls start rolling in. Different race, different ballgame, different tezults. Supporters of Sen. McDaniel learned a lot about what the power brokers in Mississippi are willing to do to keep their own entrenched. I believe what Chris believes and I believe him when he says it. Our voices were not stilled in 2014. As a matter of fact, hear us roar.

Anonymous said...

Serious question for the guy posing as all the different McDaniel supporters:

What do you think he'll do for you, besides saying things that reflect your white middle class rage?

His big talking point in 2014 was balancing the budget, but the GOP made it clear through tax cuts that's no longer on the table. Draining the swamp didn't happen, with today's example being Ben Carson's $31k executive dining room. Guns are a non-issue; it's clear the NRA could hold a fundraiser where it charged rich folks to mow down schoolchildren with a machine gun, and the GOP would still take the money.

So does Chris McDaniel represent anything other than an avatar who'll yell on your behalf at a strawman representing immigrants, black people, and gays?

Anonymous said...

The "establishment" must be nervous to have their staffers making all of these anonymous posts... lol

This will definitely be entertaining...

Anonymous said...

@6:52 That may be the best, most cogent comment ever posted on JJ on any post ever.

AMEN.

Many Trump voters weren't enthralled with Trump, so much as they were flipping the finger at the establishment.

And everyone KNEW Trump was a joke who had zero odds of winning... right on up until he did.

Anonymous said...

Seems about right. A vehement small government candidate choosing a government institution to launch his candidacy. McDaniel is no different than any other; he doesn’t have the ballls to vote his convictions.

Chris the good little Baptist boy, taking millions from the Chicago Schlitz heir.

Another "self made man" who is 'for' the little guy. Right.

Drain the swamp so Uehline can buy it and put in an infinity pool filled with champagne. Chrissy will be his pool boy and bring them fruity drinks with umbrellas in them.

While our money goes to Richard Shelby for Bama, and our Senate seat goes to a Democrat.

Brilliant, brilliant plan, just like Roy Moore.

Tea Party-destroying their own party and America since 2009. Dolts.

Ben West said...

There sure are some strange worldviews in here. There are also a lot of people with short memories. Chris McDaniel got more votes than Thad Cochrane last time, y'all. Not enough to win, but more. Those of us who supported him, as well as those who worked on his campaign, were political neophytes, for the most part, and certainly at this level. That is not the case, any more. This campaign will have professionals working it, and we all know just how low the establishment will stoop, now. The other very important point is that Roger Wicker is no Thad Cochrane. If Chris makes the announcement we expect, he will win this nomination. No doubt.

Anonymous said...

Ben West, seeing as how you don't know how to spell Cochran's name, I don't think anyone on here is going to question your political neophyte credentials. They might question your predictive capabilities.

otisfyfe said...

What are the odds we have three 'Anti-Chris' arsonists on here, each working a rotational, three hour stint, posting the same repetitive garbage? Oh....I'd say the odds are 95 to 5.

Look who Trump endorsed for Alabama senator, then come back and brag that he has endorsed Wicker. Wicker's record belies his recent commercials which are all packed with falsehoods and braggadocios foolishness. Only the low-information crowd falls for those silly ads.

So, the guys some of you slow-learners support are Thad and Rodger?

Anonymous said...

Ditto what 1:21 and 6:52 said. With all due respect to Mr McDaniel, he's a good stump speaker, but what legislative accomplishment does he have in the State Senate ? Seriously someone please tell me what he has accomplished during his time as a State Senator. And having alienated more than half of his own party, what exactly do his supporters think he can accomplish in the US Senate ? Talking versus actually doing are two very, very different things. Presently, although a very small state, Mississippi's elected officials in DC are very well respected and help us get the federal assistance our State desperately needs. But if Chris goes to DC and calls members of his own party sellouts, liars, traitors, etc. and alienates half his party like he has done here, say goodbye to anyone being willing to help Mississippi any more. You can't go to DC and tell all the Democrats and half the Republicans that they suck and are traitors and then expect them to support you and your positions.

Ben West at 10:43, just what did the so called establishment do that was so low ? Is asking African Americans to vote Republican wrong ? Shouldn't it be the party of inclusion ? You sound like the stereotypical backwoods racist "How dare we let black people vote in our elections". Good Lord. Or maybe you mean the establishment stooped so low by going into a private nursing home room and taking pictures of an unsuspecting, dying woman. Oh wait, that wasn't the establishment. That was done by McDaniels' supporters.

Anonymous said...

Dee Ray, I love your (extremely stupid) post. The fact that you add a "Roll with Ross Barnett" sticker on your post says a lot about you, mainly that you are a racist, like Ross was, still living in the past. So yes, I would much rather support Thad and "Rodger" (I assume you meant Roger)over any candidate you support.

Anonymous said...

Wicker doesn't have the baggage Thad had. Expect surrogates to make McDaniel's past a real issue.

Anonymous said...

I think all the McDaniel hate proves that the 'establishment' is afraid of Chris. I think all the good ole boy GOP in Mississippi needs to be replaced! This is my third post on this matter. I wonder if this will get rejected also. ps no affiliation to anyone running just disgusted on how the 2014 played out and will vote accordingly to reflect my disgust.

Anonymous said...

I'm very disappointed he wasn't holding an opossum in the video. 1/10 would not recommend.

Anonymous said...

11:59 as to your comment that "I think all the McDaniel hate proves the establishment is afraid of Chris", that would be incorrect. I'm not part of the establishment you refer to; I just think he would be a bad Senator for our State. He is a talker not a doer, who will not accomplish anything in the US Senate other than having himself ostracized and marginalized. But yes, I guess I am afraid, afraid of the damage he would do.

Anonymous said...

1:50 We will have to agree to disagree. The only time I have been around Chris was when I met him through mutual friends on a ski trip in Vail maybe 10 years ago. He came across as a most caring and genuine person. I came away very impressed, but have not seen or spoke with him since. On the other hand, I have rubbed elbows with many of the "establishment" through the years and I can't give the same compliment. I have no issues with Wicker, but will support McDaniel.

Trollfest '09

Trollfest '07 was such a success that Jackson Jambalaya will once again host Trollfest '09. Catch this great event which will leave NE Jackson & Fondren in flames. Othor Cain and his band, The Black Power Structure headline the night while Sonjay Poontang returns for an encore performance. Former Frank Melton bodyguard Marcus Wright makes his premier appearance at Trollfest singing "I'm a Sweet Transvestite" from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." Kamikaze will sing his new hit, “How I sold out to da Man.” Robbie Bell again performs: “Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be Bells” and “Any friend of Ed Peters is a friend of mine”. After the show, Ms. Bell will autograph copies of her mug shot photos. In a salute to “Dancing with the Stars”, Ms. Bell and Hinds County District Attorney Robert Smith will dance the Wango Tango.

Wrestling returns, except this time it will be a Battle Royal with Othor Cain, Ben Allen, Kim Wade, Haley Fisackerly, Alan Lange, and “Big Cat” Donna Ladd all in the ring at the same time. The Battle Royal will be in a steel cage, no time limit, no referee, and the losers must leave town. Marshand Crisler will be the honorary referee (as it gives him a title without actually having to do anything).

Meet KIM Waaaaaade at the Entergy Tent. For five pesos, Kim will sell you a chance to win a deed to a crack house on Ridgeway Street stuffed in the Howard Industries pinata. Don't worry if the pinata is beaten to shreds, as Mr. Wade has Jose, Emmanuel, and Carlos, all illegal immigrants, available as replacements for the it. Upon leaving the Entergy tent, fig leaves will be available in case Entergy literally takes everything you have as part of its Trollfest ticket price adjustment charge.

Donna Ladd of The Jackson Free Press will give several classes on learning how to write. Smearing, writing without factchecking, and reporting only one side of a story will be covered. A donation to pay their taxes will be accepted and she will be signing copies of their former federal tax liens. Ms. Ladd will give a dramatic reading of her two award-winning essays (They received The Jackson Free Press "Best Of" awards.) "Why everything is always about me" and "Why I cover murders better than anyone else in Jackson".

In the spirit of helping those who are less fortunate, Trollfest '09 adopts a cause for which a portion of the proceeds and donations will be donated: Keeping Frank Melton in his home. The “Keep Frank Melton From Being Homeless” booth will sell chances for five dollars to pin the tail on the jackass. John Reeves has graciously volunteered to be the jackass for this honorable excursion into saving Frank's ass. What's an ass between two friends after all? If Mr. Reeves is unable to um, perform, Speaker Billy McCoy has also volunteered as when the word “jackass” was mentioned he immediately ran as fast as he could to sign up.

In order to help clean up the legal profession, Adam Kilgore of the Mississippi Bar will be giving away free, round-trip plane tickets to the North Pole where they keep their bar complaint forms (which are NOT available online). If you don't want to go to the North Pole, you can enjoy Brant Brantley's (of the Mississippi Commission on Judicial Performance) free guided tours of the quicksand field over by High Street where all complaints against judges disappear. If for some reason you are unable to control yourself, never fear; Judge Houston Patton will operate his jail where no lawyers are needed or allowed as you just sit there for minutes... hours.... months...years until he decides he is tired of you sitting in his jail. Do not think Judge Patton is a bad judge however as he plans to serve free Mad Dog 20/20 to all inmates.

Trollfest '09 is a pet-friendly event as well. Feel free to bring your dog with you and do not worry if your pet gets hungry, as employees of the Jackson Zoo will be on hand to provide some of their animals as food when it gets to be feeding time for your little loved one.

Relax at the Fox News Tent. Since there are only three blonde reporters in Jackson (being blonde is a requirement for working at Fox News), Megan and Kathryn from WAPT and Wendy from WLBT will be on loan to Fox. To gain admittance to the VIP section, bring either your Republican Party ID card or a Rebel Flag. Bringing both and a torn-up Obama yard sign will entitle you to free drinks served by Megan, Wendy, and Kathryn. Get your tickets now. Since this is an event for trolls, no ID is required. Just bring the hate. Bring the family, Trollfest '09 is for EVERYONE!!!

This is definitely a Beaver production.
